I want summer. I think it has missed us this year. We now have a chill in the air like winter. I go away for a week working in Hamilton. I'm taking Jammer with me. Steve is also away for work. I'm just resting enjoying avo nap

Sandy, pets are indeed expensive (I need to go and buy Lily some more dog food today and it's $60 for a bag, eek). But they're worth it. I don't know what I'd do without my Lily pooch and Lydia kittya. And if only I could find a way to monetize pet hair, I'd be rich. :p I brushed Lily yesterday and I swear I could make a whole 'nother dog out of all the fur that came off of her.

I survived my first infusion of Entyvio yesterday. I did get very tired afterward, but I have not slept very well for days, so I am not willing to say it was due to the Entyvio yesterday. My next infusion is in 2 weeks.

Well I think you deserved a good old snore Doug.and it's good you're catching up on the Zzzzzzs..........

All's well Sandy,(for now). Thanks for asking me darling'.
You all have so much interest going on in your lives, most of it unwanted,I know.
But it's always same old, same old, here and I don't want to bore the pants off you all.
Mind you,I wouldn't have it any other way,but I am missing Little Blackie with the cold weather we're having.

I like to hear the details, Carol, even if you think it's boring. In addition, I could use a few "boring" details right now just so I know everything is not always drama in people's lives.
On top of everything my phone is dying and I have to bring it in to get either a hard total reset or a new phone. They will make sure it is working properly before they send me home if it is just a hard reboot. I'm glad I paid the extra fee for phone insurance and will not have additional expenses.
Exhausted after PT. Going to take a nap myself.Zzzzzzzz.

I love my lap top.My phone is bog standard talk and txt and I can take photos with it,but I couldn't be bothered to faff about with an I- phone.I don't even use my lap top to anywhere near to it's full potential.

Hi Everybody.....currently we are getting snowed in again...surprise...well it is still winter.
Saw the cardiologist today...ecg and all that stuff. He did a careful check and said I was ok..couldn't find any arrhythmia..but he is calling for the hospital record....feels it may be a computer glitch..happens sometimes.saw my GP the day before and he did a thorough cardio check....then ordered a page full of labwork...that's quite a lot of blood each time.
I decided the labwork can wait till next week.....very tiring all these appointments and in three different geographic locations..
I think these docs have heartfelt considerations....
Seriously ..how often do we thank our lucky stars for these dedicated talented individuals ensuring our health...I am so fortunate to have caring professionals like these.
Great strides made with my leg surgery...the end is in sight and I am beginning to walk more easily....not going out slip sliding in the snow ...yet.
Good to see you are over your first entyvio dose Doug..nothing like a good sleep especially when it has been so elusive..
Sandy...I don't have a cell phone..probably never will since my working life entailed carrying an emergency call pager....24 hr/7. No peace for the wicked...
Winning......

Hi, hope everyone has been doing well. Just wanted to share a story.

During geography lecture yesterday, I sat next to this girl whom was kind of chatty. I usually sit a few seats away from her, but I wasn't too happy to find out that somebody took my usual seat after I had been absent from school for two days. I guess she must have noticed that I wasn't in school (we had geography lessons on both of the days that I was absent), so she asked me what happened. When I told her I had heart palpitations and went to the hospital, she was like "oh, you have heart palpitations too?" I was quite offended at first, but after she explained that she suffered from SVT too, I was starting to like her as a friend. Although her SVT is not as serious as mine, she seems quite intent on going for the surgery to get it fixed sometime in June, so I guess I'll just wait for her to be done with that, and see if I want to do it in a few years' time.

Unfortunately, she doesn't have Crohn's, so I don't expect her to fully understand what I'm going through. But anyways, I was glad I found a friend

Some people (present company excepted of course) moan on about trivial illnesses, coughs, colds etc. to much, and others (like us)usually keep most things to ourselves. But it is nice to meet someone who can empathise and understands what we have to endure. It will help your decision somewhat after your new friend has surgery.
But as you know,we're all different (Crohnie Mantra)

That is awesome that you found someone to talk to that at least understands what it's like to be in the hospital and medical tests all of the time. If I was younger and in school again I would look towards the medical field for to date because they understand medical needs. My husband was in the medical field for most of his life and he is an amazing advocate for me and never grosses out about anything I'm going through he's supportive and we deal with issues together. I wish you luck in your tough journey at 50 I'm glad I'm past that dating game. Thoughts and prayers are for you and your new friend.

There are so many things I'd like respond to on this forum thread, but for a change I'll tone it down a little. I just want to say I admire all of you in oh-so-many ways.
I do want to mention Doug and I went to see another movie (Utahns are known to be avid movie goers, and we are no exception as I'm sure many of you have noticed), and this time we saw "A Dogs Purpose." I know there is a little controversy out there about one scene, but I did not find it offensive. It is a very touching movie and I have to admit I found tears in my eyes more than once. The movie made me appreciate my Allie dog all the more.🐶🐶🐶
(P.S. The previews don't do it justice. )

I steer clear of movies with animals, especially dogs.I get very emotional, and why would I torture myself ?
Bear attacks and wolf attacks etc. on man,I can manage no problem.......does that say something negative about me ? I don't care,I am what I am.

It says that you get emotional at the real things. I thought of you at the movie and wondered if you would love it, or not like it because of emotion involved.

I'm here too, just exhausted and relaxing in a lazy boy chair. I've talked from 12- to 8 pm. Tomorrow is 2 to 8 pm and Wednesday is 9 till 7. Thursday is a work from batch day to do my follow up so when I get home I am up to date. Well, that's the [emoji848] thinking [emoji189]

Im around as well and I'm feeling good apart from a few small aches and pains but they're just getting old pains ,
Hope everyone else feels a bit better soon .

Hey Doug, I'm here too.

5 more days till I'm officially allowed to reintroduce food and start on Azathioprine. There've been ups and downs while I was on EEN, and to be honest, I'm both excited and scared at the same time (●﹏●)

It was really windy here too yesterday - I went hiking and it was a real challenge with the wind.

Good luck, CYY! I was on a liquid elemental diet just for 2 weeks back in late August/early September. Even though it was only 2 weeks, that by itself was really hard. I found myself thinking about food all the time and obsessing over what I was going to eat first when I could eat again. Are you going to ease into it - do small bits of food and still have some modulen for the first little while? That seemed to work out well for me. When I was on liquids only, I was drinking 6 Vivonex drinks per day. When I first started having food again, I'd still have 4 or 5 Vivonex with a little food, and as time went on I'd gradually lower the amount of Vivonex and increase the amount of food.

Hi all ... iv been awol for a few days its been a very busy period for me. Iv not had mych time to relax for a few days. Thus im of to my bed soon even tho its only 7.35 pm here...
Hope you all are feeling better those who havent been and those that have been well are staying that way☺
Big hugs n loves 💕💕💕 :ghug:

I'm a bit frustrated today. I've been mildly nauseous all day. Because of the nausea, I have eaten next to nothing, so now I'm both nauseous and starving. What do you guys do when you feel like this? To eat or not to eat? I always seem to make the wrong choice. Maybe any choice is the wrong choice - if I eat I'm going to feel worse, and if I don't eat I'm going to feel worse. Ugh.

Maybe eat some bland foods.

Thanks Cat! I'll still pretty much be on Modulen for the next couple of months, trying out one thing new and reducing the scoops by two every four days. After that, I'll start the LOFFLEX diet, but my dietician recommends having a glass of Modulen as a supplement every day.

But won't it be nice to at least start eating again? To start chewing, tasting and swallowing actual food instead of just formula milk?

You have no idea how addicted I am to cooking shows right now. XD

I like Food Network

latest project for my granddaughter, she's 9 months , so I need to start building it.

Thanks guys. I decided to have some potato chips as they're pretty bland and belly-safe. I feel a little bit better. Sometimes when I'm not feeling well, having some chips helps for some reason. Maybe it's the sodium content? I tend to have low BP and borderline low sodium most of the time anyway, so I know sodium can help those things.

CYY, I can definitely relate! When I was on Vivonex, I was instructed to start the low-FODMAP diet when I started eating again. So I obsessed over looking for low-FODMAP recipe ideas and ingredients. And yes, it is wonderful to start eating again. Take it slow though! It's easy to want to go crazy and pig out, but definitely go slow. It might also help to keep a journal of everything you're eating and what symptoms you're having (how much pain, how many bathroom trips and what consistency, etc). That helped me a lot. Just because something is "safe" on the diet doesn't necessarily mean that it's going to agree with you.

Trev, that's really cute! It's always fun to have a project. I just bought myself enough yarn to crochet a blanket, so I'll be starting a project soon myself. My last blanket that I made, I didn't have anyone in mind to give it to as I was making it. Then, shortly before I finished it, my boss told me she had to go in for major surgery. So I finished the blanket and gave it to her as a "get well" gift, and she loved it. I hope it's keeping her cozy as she recovers from her surgery, she had her surgery on Thursday and is still in the hospital.

That's brilliant news. I let you win a little longer next time .... maybe...

Sorry, I can't help myself (he he). I'm winning now. I love your project Trev!
I hope your tummy is a bit better, Cat. Ron is correct, bland foods. A touch of ginger is good for upset tummies too.
I'm so glad my tummy has been fairly normal (for me) the past while. I think nausea is one of the worst things people can ever go through.
Like Mandy said get well or stay well everyone. :ghug:

When are you all (including the Utes) going to realise that you're on the road to nowhere ??? I win,and I will always win.Anyone who thinks otherwise is in Cloud Cuckoo Land........I win,I win, I win,I win, I wiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiin !!!

Ron and Cat,by being on this thread you're halfway there.....

THOUGHT FOR THE DAY.....Dogs have masters, cats have servants.

Sandy you and I both know that the real prize is.........the support, the friendship and the laughs that we all get on this forum,LOWs especially.....So for goodness sake put that old cup away,we all know you won it in a spelling Bee when you were 36.

Nah, that cup was just a representation of the fact that we had won. you know I can't spell. And your definition of the winner is exactly why the Utes have one.:rof::rof::rof:

I'm 37 so can I compete in a spelling bee? Also, I totally want that skeleton trophy! :D I might need to buy some plastic skeletons and gold spray paint and make that for myself. :p

I love Your humor! :ytongue:

It's so nice outside...thoughts of spring seem to be making people a bit giddy today. I'm happy with my toes and fingers being warm. Happy Valentines Day.

Shanen, yeah, it's in the 40s here today! And it's going to be in the 50s, maybe even 60, this weekend!! That's crazy, it's like springtime. I wore a coat today but I didn't really need one. And it was so sunny that when I went out to run a couple errands, I actually opened my car window!

Warmer temps for the weekend are forecasted here too Cat. Thoughts of opening a window or two to let some stale winter air out of the house are on my mind.

Oh hells bells loads of posts since the one i saw come up... oh il still take the win

Just got a call from my sister. They had a Valentine's day party at the facility where my dad is. They had dancing and he was non stop.

That seems to happen a lot to me to Mandy. I'm sure it does to others also. I was just posting on the weather thread only to come back here and read your posts, and it's in the 40s, very spring-like here too. I love it. And Cat, that trophy pic was a pic of a do it yourself Halloween best costume trophy, so I am sure that is exactly how it was made. One last thing, and sorry for repeating myself for those whose peruse the weather thread, but I have been meaning to post this for a long time, but since CMAC joined LOW it seems appropriate given his Avatar. We can tell who is the more optimistic one in the bunch (and it isn't me).

I love it Ron. It is nice to hear that he can still have a good time considering all else.

Just resting after work. Feet are up, enjoying reading your posts everyone. Woop woop [emoji119]

Yes.K., you were a total winner until now. It's a lovely day, so before I go into town we're going down to the coast on the bikes.I we do town first I might not feel like cycling afterwards.Got to get my priorities right........Winning with a smug smile.

That sounds really nice.

Happy "chocolate is on sale" day, everyone! Ha ha, I love the day after a holiday when everything goes on sale!

We did enjoy our bike ride. The temp.got up to 12c after lunch. We've got plans for the next couple of days as the weather's going to stay nice.depending on my innards of course.Went into town as planned, then made a meat and potato pie and a pan of veg.soup for the next few days, to save bothering to much when back from our rides.

All the snow has melted here and the ice rinks are officially closed for the season, so it's possible I'll be able to take a bike ride soon too! Like, this weekend maybe! That will be nice, it's been ages since I've been on my road bike and I miss it. Now what are the odds that my guts will behave themselves and allow me to ride? Hmm...

Ron, they make adult trikes now and they are quite trendy, maybe you could ride one of those? My grandpa had one for awhile and one day we all took turns riding it. It had a nice big basket on the back and it was pretty fun to ride. It looked similar to this one:

Good idea

So, for my crafty folks out there (Sandy for sure, who else?), I was at the craft store today (for the 2nd time this week). I had seen this phrase online before and it sure came to mind today:

why-buy-it-for-7-when-you-can-make-it-yourself-with-92-of-craft-supplies-517e5.png

Ha ha. Hubby and I have been watching Bob Ross a lot lately - the "happy little trees" painter guy. So now hubby's inspired and he's going to try his hand at oil painting, so we've recently spent some money buying paint and canvases. As for me, I've now got my craft room remodeled (we installed a countertop for my sewing machines, fresh paint on the walls, and just a lot of organization and tossing a few things) so I've been buying more sewing supplies lately. But of course when I looked at the sewing pattern it said I need to buy a zipper too, after I've already spent money on the fabric and the pattern. (Of course, I already have a tote full of random zippers, but I didn't have one the right size or in the right color.) And since I was at the craft store anyway, of course I bought even more fabric, and earlier this week I had bought 6 skeins of yarn to start crocheting a new blanket too. So this saying definitely applies to me lately! :p Anybody else?
