Hi Folks,

I closed version 2.0 as huge threads like it take up a lot of server resources. Please continue the fun here.

P.S. I win.

Yaaaaay !!!! who's the champ now then ? ooops.it's last one wins isn't it,and not first one wins....But I was actually posting to Doug when I was unceremoniously cut off,so I win which ever way you look at it.

You are indeed the reigning champion of the threads.

As of right now, I'm winning in this thread though.

Oh bummer!! carol you snuck in and pinched my win..how very dare you !!! As its you il accept defeat gracefully ...NOT!! :rof:

You people are all very sneaky with your wins. 😉
Madhu, I'll get you those instructions for posting photos very soon, I've just had a couple of days where my thinker decided to take some time off. :ytongue: :ytongue: :ytongue: Should have that info soon tho. Ron, are you still in the hospital? If so, I'm also assuming they put you on blood thinners for your clots? Don't be discouraged if you are still there (in the hospital), it's more important to make sure you are taken care of than anything else right now. How are you feeling? :hang:

Thank you for the new thread David. I've gotten great advice and support from the family here. Hope all is going well with you and your family.

Hope you're ok Ron. Update when you're able to.

Winning again even if it's only temporary. 🙌

Very temporary Shanen.😃
Hope your doing ok hun.
Im awake again when i shouldnt be. Got to be up for work in about 4 hrs 😯.
Winning while not winning on the sleep front. ☺

Mandy..sorry you can’t sleep....have you tried imagining you are a sack of sand....concentrate on the sand flowing slowly from each toe ...then each finger ...each arm...each leg etc....might get you off to sleep.
Ron...hope you are making some headway and perhaps starting to feel a little better...it can take time but you will win. Feel better soon.
Carol...your repartee is very enjoyable and cheery..
So have all our previous posts been consigned to cyberspace..??
Thank you David for the thread and enabling our continued socialization..
Winning.....

Sorry Trysha, stealing the win for a second. Hey all, Ron I hope you are feeling better soon. Hope everyone has a great night!

Aw yay I found you guys. I was just sitting over there thinking everyone is so quiet [emoji23]

Trysha thanks for the tip. Il give it a try on my next insomnic night. 💕

Ron hope it helps . Also that things improve all round for you.💕

Madhu glad you found us hiding here in the new thread . ☺

Love n hugs to all :ghug: 💞💕💝

The world's healthist human hearts belong to the Tsimane people of Bolivia who eat monkeys, tapirs and piranhas........

Now Mandy,if they were the best sleepers you wouldn't have to pretend you're a bag of sand, you could just change your diet.

Carol if they were the best sleepers id rather lose the odd nights kip than eat those animals....chances are the piranhas would eat me 1st tho as i cant swim fast anymore

Carol...love your humour...you don’t miss a beat...Have you memorized Brittanica..??.
Mandy...my suggestion could be the safest...at least it won’t kill you!!
Ron...good to see you...are you still confined to hospital or did you make the great escape? if you need any tips on how to do this you have come to the right place..just let me know.
Hope things are better for you...
Have a good weekend Everyone..
Winning....

My numbers are better for hemoglobin but I still need iron and b12. One of the doctors here is supposed to talk with us about safety concerns we have.

Trysha i agree your method is safer... You know what Carols like, always on the wild side :rof:💕

Ron make sure you get all the info you can and need to, to be safe. Glad the numbers are doing better. 💕

I bet things are getting a tad frantic at work Mandz, make sure you rest when you get home.....back later.

225 Canadian fishermen die each year while standing to urinate over the side of their boat......this is too serious a subject to joke about,so I wont......

I have some news. We are pregnant :) After a year's worth of fertility treatment, we were able to conceive naturally. Lol. It's funny how life works. LOW is getting a little one next year [emoji173][emoji173]

That's awesome Madhu! You will be a great mother, I'm sure of it. I hope your pregnancy is an easy one. You better show us pictures when the baby is born though. I love baby pictures and I also love babies. :) You can count on a gift from me. Congratulations!

I don't know if those of you overseas are aware of a Swiss chocolate bar called Toblerone ? It shaped like mountains and a bugger to break.
Well,I'm just home from the weekly shop and I saw large ones for sale in the supermarket for.....£57 I kid you not.Talk about a present for some-one who has everything !!! you'd have to include an axe to get into the bloody thing.
The world's gone mad,mad I tell you.....

Carol dont tell me you have only just realised that the world has gone mad. Its been that way for years...or was it just me thats been mad for years. Either way its all mad!!! 😁

Have you noticed tho re chocolate. What was once a normal sized mars bar/snickers etc has now become a king size bar, since the normal childhood bar we bought shrunk smaller n smaller over the years🤔..who do they think they are kidding. Not us old timers thats for sure !!

Madhu, congrats!! So happy for you, I know you've been wanting a baby. When are you due?

As for me, I put my resume out into the world yesterday evening. There's a job website for the county that I live in where employers can view my resume and contact me directly. And, today I got an email from a company wanting to interview me for a position. This particular company, they make a colon cancer screening kit! They look like a pretty great company and obviously I think the product they make is pretty cool too. I'm having a phone interview tomorrow evening. Wish me luck!

Thanks Cat and Ron. I'm due in July, Cat :) Good luck with the interview!

Thanks Kirsty, Chris and Carol :)

Chris, are you sure you want pics of the birth? :rof:

I think I'll just go with the family friendly version of the photos thanks. No nudity please.:ywow: I have seen a baby born before, the novelty has definitely worn off...:ack: ;)

Boy can things change quickly around here. Congrats Madhu! What exciting news. Good to hear you're doing better Ron. Also great news Cat! That was fast. We have Toblerone in the U.S. I miss chocolate. A little now and then is ok but how can you eat just a piece or two??

That would be hard, Shanen.

I have a very long week at work. It will consist of Tuesday. Off the rest of the week. I love it.

Now that's gonna be a nice change of pace. I'm not sure if everything is frozen there or if you can even still fish? Just call me the curious Canadian! :) Have you decided how to spend your time off?

Cat thats great news. I hope n pray the interview goes well hun.💞
Hey Doug welcome back to the looney bin. Enjoy the chance to relax while you are off 💕

Good luck Cat, that sounds like a neat place to work...as long as you don't have to look at anyone's buttocks. Crack kills, remember that one?

Nope, definitely no buttock viewing required! It's a non-invasive stool test which is done at home. The test looks for cancerous or pre-cancerous cells in the stool. I wouldn't have to deal with the stool side of things either, as far as I can tell anyway. The customer would do the test at their home and send the stool sample to the lab, and the lab would then provide the test results to the customer's doctor. I wouldn't be working in the lab. I'm not exactly sure what I'd be doing, all I know is it'd be customer service. I'll hopefully find out more info on my phone interview today.

I have another phone interview with another company today too! Looks like I'll be getting a new job soon, hopefully. Both of these employers offer health insurance, which is the big thing that I absolutely need. And if I can get another job soon, then I can use my severance package from my previous job to pay off my credit card debt. Although if I get the job at the stool test company, the training class doesn't start until mid/late January, so I'll still be unemployed for a couple months if I go that route (but can still collect unemployment pay until the new job starts). There might be a delay in the other job as well as it's a similar type of job.

Madhu, that's so exciting! July sounds like a long way off but it'll be worth the wait. Congrats again!

When aged over 60,we in the UK automatically get a bowel cancer testing kit in the post every year. There has been talk of sending the kit to the over 40s soon.Apparently those people on a higher income are more likely to do the home test than those on a low income or benefits. The difference is quite a gap, which is very sad and silly.

Well,

You can keep me company if you happen to be a night owl. I'm on the lactulose(stool softener/laxative) something terrible, I have had several substantial doses. I don't think the bathroom is nearly close enough! LOL It should wear off in about another six hours or so... Yep! tomorrow is going to be spent in bed for the most part. Such is life, we can't get backed up or we end up in the hospital. I have learned that the hard way before..ie scalpel meets buttock region. Nope! Not this guy. The good news is it's working... maybe a little too well. :( I'm a big boy, I can deal with it. Misery always loves company. ;)

Best of luck Cat with the interviews . Be prepared there could be more coming as im sure your cv is pretty good and employers will be interested in what you have to offer them 💞
Chris hang in there...going to the loo a lot for a short while is better than being bunged up as you say.💕

Love to all :ghug: 💝

I'm starting to feel better. Codeine can be my best friend, and at times, my very worst enemy. It's such a tough balance between pain control, and other things that can be very negative. My goodness though, Lactulose works! I took three shot glass's worth 4 hours apart. I'm practically empty now. Yikes!... Sorry for the subject matter.

Hope your comfortable now Chris.and tucked up sleeping like a baby. For me being backed up is far.far worse than the other.

Sandy r u ok ? :rosette2:

I have a couple of appointments so I will check in later to see if you've posted.

Mandy, yeah, I've gotten a number of emails from employers and recruiters. Apparently it's quite impressive nowadays to spend 15 years working at one company. I'm pretty excited about the stool test kit place, though. The benefits not only include health insurance, but also they'd give me some stock in the company and a $1000 bonus when I officially get hired. And, they have an affiliation with the Mayo Clinic - the technology for the stool kit was created by Mayo Clinic. So I think I'd actually be able to go to Mayo! Which would be amazing, they're maybe the best healthcare clinic in the US.

Carol, my understanding is, most stool testing kits look for blood or occult blood in the stool. This new test at the company I'm applying to work at, it specifically looks for cancerous and pre-cancerous cells rather than blood. It's a new type of test and is different than the other stool testing kits. It's pretty cool! I've learned a lot the past few days, ha ha.

I think I have seen ads on tv about this Cat. They send you a kit in the mail and you send it back with the stool sample. It's pretty cool that you might get to work there. Good luck :)

Good news Cat! Sandy I hope you are well. I also hope that I didn't hug Mandy to death last night/this morning. I was really going through the wringer for a few hours there. Now all is good again for me, I will spare you the details. I'm wishing all you good folks a happy, healthy day.

Chris you can hug me to death any time, might cost the price of a plane ticket though ☺ glad you are feeling better for clearing out the attic. Polite euphonisum there!! 😁

Cat it really does sound very interesting the test clinic job. Wow visiting the Mayo would be cool😎 i read a lot of articles from the Mayo online. I am praying like crazy you get that one...as i feel its the one you'd love the most. Plus the bonus aint to be sniffed at 😉☘☘ best of luck hunnie💞

Sandy we are concerned that your ok hun. Hope your just busy and not poorly

Huge hugs n lots of love to you all..take care of yourselves 💞💝💕 :ghug:

She is fine. Just busy right now. And she is avoiding forums because of something that happened on another forum, not Crohns Forum.

That's good to hear Doug, say hello for me if you don't mind. :) Sorry to hear of Sandy having a negative experience on another forum, you have my support.

Chris, I'm also going through the wringer today. We had the furnace guy come by this morning to check out our furnace. The past 2 winters, we've had furnace issues, so we wanted to make sure that our furnace was going to be okay this winter. And, no, it was not. The guy inspected it and said it was awful, pumping out lots of carbon monoxide, so much so that he legally had to turn it off and he strongly recommended we replace it as it was not safe (it was very old and we knew it was having issues, so that wasn't a huge surprise, but it also wasn't exactly the news we were hoping to hear). So we ended up paying $3000 for a new furnace and had it installed today (well, we didn't pay any of that yet, we set up a 12 month payment plan). What a draining, exhausting, stupid day this has been. Now I really need to get that job, just so I can pay for my new furnace. Ugh. At least I'm no longer breathing in horrible things.

Happy thanksgiving tomorrow, everybody. I'm thankful for you all!

Hi Cat, sorry to hear that. I just posted on Cat's Exercise Diary. I was a fireman at one time and I gave you a couple pointers. Happy Thanksgiving. I think I'll put the post here as well because it may help someone else.

Happy Thanksgiving in advance Cat. I wish I could have been there to help because I used to install and repair furnace systems. I'm glad you found out about the CO. Carbon monoxide is very serious, and I know of people who have lost their lives to it. I hope you have a CO detector. Replace your CO detector every five years and place your detector where it will wake you up if it alarms, such as outside your bedroom. Consider buying a detector with a digital readout. This type of detector can tell you the highest level of CO concentration in your home in addition to alarming. You should also change the battery(obviously you don't need to if it is plugged into the wall) every time you change the clocks, 1 year maximum for the battery to be changed. Battery powered is better because it works in the event of a power outage.

Yup I was a fireman before being ill too, what haven't I done besides travel and own my own house?

Edited to add: Always follow the manufacturers instructions regarding battery changes, some go through batteries faster than others.

Note to self: get a life!... Oh what I wouldn't do to not be here with my parents! I'm pretty sure their mental health is degrading. They both seem more angry every day and they blame me for everything that goes wrong. No apologies offered. I think I might have to live somewhere else... a welfare flat if I'm lucky. I really don't want that to happen but things keep getting worse every day. :(

Ah Chris, that's a sad situation my friend.I know you're a good help to your parents so it must be doubly hard that things are getting difficult. You must try to do what's best for yourself. Not easy sometimes.x
