Another recent revelation in the paper.....a school has hired a permanent "nappy (diaper) changer".Children from infant (4yrs) to junior (9-yrs)are going to school having not been toilet trained !!! absolutely shocking !!! Just what are the parents doing ?

Hi all. Just a brief pop in.
Iv been a busy bee 🐝
At mo got no voice n cold but ok otherwise.
Hope to find you all are well.

Im afraid the world is going to hell in a handcart!!
Why cant people just let people be and sod all this shooting bombing n knifing of each other. What does it really matter who believes what, who says what. None of that is worth harming or killing someone over.. i cant comprehend the mentality of people who harm others. Agree to disagree if you cant agree.

Love n hugs to all.🕊💕💝

Thanks Carol. Il get over this in time for the dreaded colonoscopy on the 7th of may so that i can feel shit(pun intended;) ) again for 3 days. Got sent appointment for that at 10.30 am n also one to see rhuematologist on same day at 10.40 am....you gotta laugh at the dissorganised NHS aint ya, or cry, oh my days coouldnt organise a piss up in a brewery 😃 haha.

Sorry you have lost your voice..would you like some help to find it again....
You have to give up shouting..and toss out the bugs causing it.
Feel better soon.......
Carol...dont you know its the governments responsibility to take care of the kids in school..
Until parents are properly schooled in their responsibilities in child care this is the way of things.
Now for something totally different...where is that royal baby?.?
Winning.....

The time will come in your life,it will almost certainly come, when the voice of God will
thunder at you from a cloud,"From this day forth thou shalt not be able to put on thine own socks"...…..Thank goodness it's almost summer, that's what I say......;)

Oh Trysha poor you, poor me, pour me another drink🍾 haha gotta laugh 😃😃

Love to all big hugs too. 💝💕

Poor you Mandy it must be an immense trial to you without a voice...if i could find it for you i would
Not a good day for me today...sneaky crohns attack...willing it away ..its a banana rice and apple sauce day today.. and a ginger tea
....thats what comes of talking about colonoscopies....
So cold here today...when i saw the brilliant sunshine early this morning...just as the sun was rising......i thought of sunbathing...but the cold hit me between the teeth..so to speak...as soon as i stepped out.
Lucky i was wearing winter ⚙️ gear...been caught before by days masquerading as summer.....once bitten.....
Carol...sorry to hear about your socks problem....been there...done that...
Winning....

Good for you Mandy. One thing's for sure, you won't get a gold watch or appreciation for crawling out of your sick bed to work. I'll come down and tuck you in later.

Mandy hurry up and feel better...
Today is a fairly good day for me and i will soon go out into the cold sunshine...i am sure

Aaaagggghhhhh. C. Diff. I've spent 2 hours cleaning knobs, light switches, hand rails, floors and anything that doesn't move with bleach solution, washing all linens, towels, etc. I'm pretty careful and all I can do is control my own environment. Any advice? Have I missed anything?

Shanen...that looks very thorough to me.
C.difficile infections occur where a patient has been taking broad spectrum antibiotics.
Antibiotics upset the normal balance of the intestinal bacteria and clears a pathway for
organisms like C.difficile to take up residence and cause problems to patients.
One of the best solutions to aid in prevention of infections is good handwashing....
All washing of linens, towels etc should be with really hot water such as in washing machines.
C.difficile needs warmth to grow as well as an anaerobic environment.,it does not like oxygen.
It is not likely to thrive on clean hard surfaces unless the areas have been contaminated with faeces.
You have taken exceptional care to eliminate any welcome environment in which C difficile
could find what it needs to live and thrive.....well done.
Now if everyone would remember to wash hands frequently with a good soap like castile
It could keep the germ population down.
After a course of antibiotics it can be helpful to restore the good bacteria such as certain strains of Lactobacilli and bring back a healthy microbial balance to the intestines.
These are available in live yoghurt and also capsules available in pharmacies.
It would be wise to discuss this with your doctors and take their advice.
Winning....

I would listen to the Biologist among us. (Trysha of course) I wish you the best, Shanen. You will prevail. I'm here if you need to rant or talk. Big hugs, you have my support bud.

Thank you Trysha. That’s the advice my new doctor gave - it’s nice to have it confirmed. I have not taken antibiotics anytime recently so I was a bit concerned on where it came from. I’m pretty vigilant about hand washing myself but I have a couple coworkers I tend to avoid when possibly as they dismiss the importance and shrug off my immune system deficiencies as “all in my head”. A bit of panic but I’ll get through it. 😊❤️ Hope all is well with everyone. Have a good day.

I usually open / close public doors with sleeves over hands or elbows.I have a bit of a phobia about public dirt,as have we all.I'm always asking hubby if he's washed when he feeds the birds etc.I think a lot of men are a bit lax in that area.

In the future,if there is one, historians will be confused about much that is going on today.
It will be almost impossible for them to understand decisions we've made politically and about the planet, and what advances in technology have meant about the way we interact as a society.
There has probably never been a time when we've needed to be reminded of humility, caring, humour and hard work, not only can we all learn from this,we can be uplifted by it.
Once again,I thank you all for being there to chat to and to listen.Your understanding and empathy means so much.....:ghug:

Great to see you Madhu. How's that beautiful little girl ? She must be about 6mnths old now.I hope you're getting a good nights sleep now and settling into parenthood. You've so much to look forward to,and of course worry about. But the best bits will always cancel the worries out.Big hugs of support to you.I hope your husband is keeping well.

Hi everyone just popping in to catch up on news. We have shifted in to our new home last weekend. It’s a little chaotic. On Monday Steve had kidney stone issues. So he’s been rather unwell this week. But no hospital just all managed at GP surgery. He got jabs on Monday and take home meds. He’s doing well. We thing they have broken down and passed. Still needs a ct scan.

That’s all our news, I’m slowly getting sicker as I come of prednisone down to 20mg now. Then on Monday down to 17.5.

Love to you and Steve. Hope you both can feel better soon. 💕

Our new kitten is settling in well. So cute i have to say . We have called him Taz as he is a little devil haha😀😀

Great to see you Kirsty, but I wish it was with better news. You've got the worst of the moving over anyway,so just take your time with the unpacking. As long as you've got a kettle,a cup and a supply of loo roll you'll be fine.I sincerely hope you feel better soon.Sending hugs.

THE EMERGENCY TOILET SIGN :
This sign can be carried in a back pack or shopping bag,for emergencies,
It has the word LADIES and a stick woman on the front of it and suckers on the back.
When there's a queue at the ladies toilet, you can stick it over the GENTS sign next door and use that instead...
But to be honest girls, you'd have to be really, really desperate (and who hasn't been ?)
to use the Gents.....some of the Ladies leave a lot to be desired too.Tescos supermarket have the best I've been in for a long time, but I don't get out much.hahaha

Thanks Carol. Overall yes im much better, tho left me very weary. Iv my colonoscopy on tues. Just as well as my fecal calprotectin test came back with slightly raised levels, so if there is any imflamation on the horizon we can hopefully nip it in the bud, as it were. Fingers crossed 🤞.
Hope to find you well my old mucker :)♡x

Carol...theres always loads of places here not like the desperate search in UK.when you need a bathroom in a desperate hurry.
Mandy..good to hear you are feeling a bit better...hope the scope goes well for you.
I have had a desperate week keeping the bathroom company.
Calling the GI...secretary said they were trying to think of a solution for me....still waiting.
GP.....go to ER...his stock in trade answer.
So i turned to something which has been helpful with other things and to my surprise found acupuncture very highly rated for a swift end to the runs...
Made the appointment with my physio-acupuncturist who calmly said acupuncture would help...and it most certainly did.
The results were very quick and here i am 24 hrs later feeling pretty normal.....no pains
No unusual bathroom runs all the time.
Acupuncture should definitely be on the books for symptomatic treatment....maybe could help Crohns more than anyone thinks.
To think ive been tolerating all those symptoms for months without any help when it is
known that acupuncture can be helpful.
One hurdle is that it is not covered by the health system...big mistake....why give patients
toxic drugs without even trying acupuncture..which has been around for five thousand years.
That said it is known that it may not help everyone.
In China its a mainstay of treatments.
Hope you are all having a good Saturday....now im off to the shops and for a walk once more..good to get into the fresh air
Winning......

Interesting about acupuncture Trysha, I’ve been thinking about that lately myself

It may well be they way forward for lots of things. Glad its helped you Trysha 🙂. Best of luck for your colo next week. X

Hi Kirsty...good to see you again.,acupuncture works for me in so many different ways...
Stops migraines in its tracks....stops gout incredibly and has saved me from knee surgery on my left leg.The orthopedist had said it would be necessary to replace the joint after he did the right knee.I had so many problems after that surgery and i was told i was one of 30% who had complications....it figures..
Anyway this is when i tried acupuncture and it really helped but has taken a couple of years for the right knee to resolve
Left knee just great...no surgery...acupuncture worked well.
It was with faint hope i turned to acupuncture for the crohns attack.....amazingly it has helped but i still have some symptoms although i can cope comfortably and will return tomorroow for another acupuncture session.
What a way to spend my retirement pensions...but its worth it.
Conventional medicine is missing this important approach....no money in it for drug companies....
It would do well if doctors would pay more attention to the value of at least trying the acupuncture approach which actually could cost a lot less than some of the toxic drugs used...and even if it doesn't work for some its worth a try.
‘Nuff said.
Good to see you Mandy hope things are improving for you..
Where’s Carol this morning.....
Winning....

I'm here Trysha….I was just going to as Mandy how her Mum was doing ?
It's been a cold and grey day, typical May bank holiday weather.Had a walk to the park. We're very lucky to have such a nice space just across the road.Of course the River Tyne is 10 mins down the bank and the coast a 30min walk.I would hate to live in a big city. We've both lived in this neighbourhood all of our lives except for a couple of short forays to new pastures, but we didn't linger long.I have a loose wire on my PC so if I'm absent for a couple of days, please don't panic.hahaha. Some shops will be closed until Tues....I wonder why Sandy and Doug stopped posting after being such long time friends ?.Robert,Dave,Trev,Tuff are missed too to name but a few.

Have a great day everyone. Best of luck to those who could use a little.

I'm sure you could fix a loose wire on my lap-top Chris.Hubby is NOT into technology even though he'd love to have a go.....not a chance !!! ;)

Carol my mum is much the same. She has the spinal injection the week after next n we are all praying it helps her some.
She has had a couple of infections off late and now got an ulcer on her calf. She has up days n down days like most of us.
Thanks for asking. Xx

Sorry I didn't mean to post and run. Little one is doing great. 4.5 months old now and starting to roll over. She can be hard work but is also an absolute joy. She makes our days and nights fly by so fast, we have no idea what's happening. Lol.

Hubby is doing good as well, thanks for asking. We are not very happy with his current GI though, he doesn't want to do bloodwork for 9 months! We have never gone beyond 3 months, so we are trying to get a second opinion.

Big hug to everyone. I miss posting regularly. Will pop by often [emoji173][emoji4]

Hi Everyone!
Haven't posted in a while and thought it might be time to check in. Hubby is healing up from his bladder surgery, and now that he is home from hospital and stabilized, I am suddenly feeling much better! Funny how that works. The weather has been absolutely beautiful and most days I am out in the garden weeding and planting. Such a lovely time of year!
Hugs and best wishes to all of you! :soledance:

It's a cold and grey day here so we're going to walk up to the town square as there's been a food fest on over the holiday weekend. Not that we'll be eating anything,I won't risk it and hubby prefers my cooking (Spanish Omelette today and Summer fruits trifle for later) Then we'll walk back along the bank top above the river.A snuggle down with my new book later......Living the dream !!!! hahaha. Or easy pleased ?

Hope you all enjoy your day too.

Carol hope you enjoyed your excursion:). 💕

Madhu aw the little one is doing well by the sounds of it. Glad hubby n you are ok. 💕

Nutty glad you and hubby are doing well. 💕

Trysha hope you are ok today 💕

Chris i hope you are keeping well and out of trouble 😃💕

Just started my moviprep ready for the inside of my colon show tomorrow.. this prep tastes half right somewhat lemony flavour... oh well now starts the wait for my insides to fall out haha🙂. Least thats how it feels to me!!

Sending positive thoughts your way for an uneventful and calm colonoscopy tomorrow, Fuzzy! My next one is June 7...

Madhu....lovely to hear from you and know the baby is thriving
Carol....did you enjoy the walk along the Tyne? Sounds idyllic
We seem to be kindred spirits when it comes to food....very hard to cope with.
Mandy..you seem to be copingvwell with the prep...hope it continues smoothly for you and that everything goes off without a hitch tomorrow.
Good to see you Nutty....my procedure is two days before you....not looking forward to it with undiluted pleasure.
It gets things going all over again for weeks....misery.
Currently the acupuncture relief lasted two days then all the symptoms returned but a few degrees less intensity.
Had another acupuncture session today and soon felt better again...so far so good.
It was a taste of summer today...23 degrees...tomorrow is forecast to be colder .
Cheers! Everyone
Winning....

Last day of antibiotics and feeling pretty good. Fingers and toes crossed it holds. 😃

Thanks for the best wishes on the colo...drunk last nights prep, no movement till about 5.45 this morning n not much then. Started this mornings batch at 6.15 am this morning n waiting on that to help. I always have this problem, it never really works till after the procedure is done. Is this just me or does anyone else have this happen?

Shanen hope you keep feeling better 💕

Love n best wishes to all 💝💝

Have a good day Mandy (wink)

My last prep began to work within an hour and I didn't get to bed 'til 3am.Still going when I got to the hospital......I'll say it again.....Living the dream.!!!

Mandy I have the same issue and it keeps working well after the procedure [emoji23] my transit time is so slow.

I saw a respiratory specialist today for results of my ct scan of lungs. I have about 15-20 cysts spread throughout both lungs. I need a few more tests blood and lung functioning. Testing some biochemistry, cpr, CBC, ieg , alpha 1 triptyse something or rather. Given my dad gas COPD. Same as his mum. His sister has some chronic bronchiole disease with no cure.

I’m interviewing two people for a job tomorrow. Work is getting so busy and I need to find cover for me as I taper off the prednisone.

I should send you a picture of my office. It has a bed and tray table in it [emoji16], a lazy boy and a big giant pouf. A coffee table and big screen.

Stay as happy as you can and I’ll try to do that too.
K

Carol glad yoyrs works quickly but not that you had the 3am bit. X
Kirsty glad to know im not alone in the delayed evacuation.. .
Oh my hun thats a lot of cysts. Have they said what they can/are going to do regarding them.
Sorry to hear about the issues with your dad and his sister. Send u and them love best wishes n hugs xx💕

Ps can i work from your office please 😁

A beautiful day, here, as well. Heading out to the garden...
Hope all went well with the colonoscopy, Fuzzy!
So sorry to hear about the cysts, Kirsty, hang in there!
Best wishes to you all...

Hi all. Colo results have shown some small ulcers going on in a couple of places. Mri scan ordered. Immediate treatment is a course of budesonide and then maybe infliximab/remicade if need be after what ever the scan shows up. Oh the joys...well iv had a good run of around 5yrs from 1st op so cant whinge to much.

Love to all xxx

Glad you came through part one ok Mandy...
Sorry the results were not the best but hope you will quickly respond to meds.
Seems we all regress at similar times...maybe Crohns is seasonal?.
I am not sure that the acupuncture will take care of my current bout....it stopped it yesterday and up to this evening.....and now its off again....so sleep is likely
off the menu for tonight.
Not feeling that bad in myself though...but a bit light headed at times.
others have it a lot worse so Iwill have to get on with it..
Everything is getting brilliantly green right now with all the rain sprinkling down...
and its not too cold .
Winning.....

Thanks Trysha..it maybe that all the worry and stress and extra work with my mum has not helped. Still i think it may have been caught early enough to nip it in the bud. Sorry to hear yours is playing up again after the accupunture. Hope it settles soon love. 💝

Mandy...you have been through a tough time coping with your own symptoms as well as
the health situation with your mum.
Hopefully the meds will put a swift brake on the crohns and you will be better soon.
The symptoms i was having kept going till around 3am this morning and abruptly stopped
so the day has been reasonably ok....just feel a bit tired.
What do you think of Archie...lovely royal baby but maybe he wont care for his name.....
Kirsty..sorry to hear you have all those cysts....hope they all go away for you.
Cold sunny spring day today...

I hope everyone is feeling better soon. I had a severe back episode, (sciatica) yesterday while working on the truck. I'm pretty sure it's due to the nerve damage caused by all of my 14 surgeries. Damn it still hurts, not as bad as yesterday though. I almost went to the hospital for a shot of hydromorphone. My pain will hopefully be short lived. Hugs and best wishes to everyone.

Hope it goes away quickly for you Chris...that is so painful.
A nurse giving me an injection for pain shot it directly into the sciatic nerve....it was painful for months.
Feel better soon
Hugs
Trysha

Best wishes for the injection for the back pain to sort it all out. I’ve had some blood tests back.

I am low on the alpha 1 antitrypsin, high on igM, normal on other ig’s, platelets high, wbc high, neutrophils high, everything else normal. I got no obvious infection. The joys of autoimmune [emoji2957] my infusion is on Monday. I’m in Auckland with Steve, he’s driving me to my work appointments here so I don’t get too tired. Tomorrow we head over to waiheke island as I’m working there all Saturday. I’ll try and find a pic, it’s my first time to go there.

That is such a beautiful picture Kirsty...thank you for posting it..so refreshing to look at.
Sorry to hear about your blood picture...sometimes the drugs we are given can cause
unwanted changes...hope things improve for you.
My niece will be returning from Wellington on Saturday.....her eye is greatly improved and the docs feel she may not need a corneal transplant....hope this improvement continues.
Winning"....".

That is great news about your niece. She must be pleased to be able to head home.

My dad has COPD and his sister has broncestatsis and vasculitis. I seem to pick up what my family members have. The docs can find what they find. But I’m still walking around, I’m still working so that good.

If my list of dx conditions gets one more I’ll have 40. So I decided when and if that happens I’m getting cake [emoji512][emoji23][emoji23][emoji1787][emoji38]

Unbelievable Kirsty !!! You deserve cake and much,much more.Talk about tough...respect!!!.....:medal1: :drink::rosette1::ghug:

Good morning, everyone! It's a lovely spring day here and the hooded mergansers that have nested near our house are getting ready to jump. She has ten or eleven babies in there, all hatched yesterday. Today she will jump out of the nesting box and call to them, and each little baby will pop out of the nest and follow Mom down to the pond. Hubby is outside with camera poised, waiting for the big moment....
So nice that life provides us with little magical things like this to keep us from thinking about our aches and pains all the time...
Hugs to all of you!:ysmile:

Nutty..wish I was there to see your bird procession down to the water...

Love the bluebells [emoji16]
The description of the birds was awesome [emoji3079]

C, are you in pain today? What’s frustrating you?

I'm in bad pain and disabled permanently, just like all of us. Sorry for the rant. The doctors screwed up all my nerves in the lower back region. I'll be fine in a little while. I'm also on opiates and they make me very grumpy. Thanks for asking, Kirsty.

-C

It’s ok to vent, it really is. Pain sucks and is rather tiresome. We can’t keep everything inside our heads. I hope your pain lessens soon.

Well, the mother duck flew out and then stood on the ground calling to her babies to jump out. One by one, out they came, brave as anything! (The nest box is a good twenty feet off the ground!) They looked around for mom and four of them followed her toward the pond. However, the other eight started heading for the driveway! So hubby and I spent some time chasing ducklings this morning! We gathered them up into canvas bags and took them down to the pond, where they joined mom and the other four. What a morning! I have not tried attaching photos here before, but if this works, it's to cheer you up, Cmack!

If you can visualize an older gray haired couple (both of whom who have had recent surgeries and can barely bend over without making grunty old people noises) chasing these eight little darlings up and down the hillside...I'm sure we looked like an old episode of Benny Hill...:ylol:

Your pictures were really enjoyable Nutty...thank you for posting them.
I have yet to master the artnof picture posting
Hope it made you feel lots better Chris

Thankyou for that lovely post NGs.It brought a smile to my face.I hope you and hubby are both well.:)

Things are better today. I had to take morphine and prescription grade muscle relaxants to loosen up the knots in my back. Those birds are really awesome, Nutty.
Take care everyone.

Peace,

Carol hope you are staying out of trouble.

Im having a rough ish time at mo, still waiting for my steriod script. Chemist did not have it in stock. Hoping to get it tomorrow.

Take care one n all. Loves n hugs :ghug:💕💝

Feel better soon Mandy. Why do chemists allow vital meds.to run low ? No good moaning though 'cos it's sure to get worse when Brexit gets sorted.
Who hates waiting for repair men / deliveries ? I'm waiting for the plumber to fix the loo cistern.Luckily it's not unusable. But it seems like a long time since I booked him and this morning has dragged on and on.Still it'll be worth it to be able to flush without worrying.
Easy pleased or what ? I sometimes get excited when I've got a new bottle of shampoo.hahaha

I get excited by nature. That's how I get my kicks! I love being out in the woods or on a lake fishing. I saw a cow moose today! What a beast, clumsy as all hell though... ;)
