Our neighbour who we took to hospital on Wednesday sadly died yesterday. It's amazing how your life changes in an instant. We didn't know he had family until his niece turned up today. But as they weren't close she has no clue about funeral arrangements etc.etc. It's a huge responsibility for someone, clearing the house, paying bills. That's why it's important,if you live alone,to write all your info.down.But of course there's always the thought that "if I'm gone I won't be bothered about paying bills or where they bury me"

That's sad, Carol. A friend of mine recently passed away and it made me really realize we can go at any time and that we're all just visitors here on this earth. You have my support. Hugs.

I said yo, Jeff??? and laughed because I figured he ran for the hills...lol ...Pardon me if I'm mistaken. ;)

They messed with the clocks last night, I'll set mine when I feel like it, I have no schedule to follow, and its months too early for DST, if we need it at all. I'd rather put the light and warmth into the mornings when I need it the most, by evening and after supper I'm done with the day.

Hi all. I have been busy and not got to post for a while. Im ok just run ragged. Hope those feeling well stay so and those not to well feel better soon.
Glad to see some returnees. Love the pic of jammer kirsty 🙂. Hope you feel better very soon.

Love to all you lovely peeps 💖💝💕

Good morning, all you wonderful cronies! It's sunny and cold here in Oregon but looks like we might get near 50 degrees later today. Taking hubby up to Portland today for his early morning bladder surgery tomorrow. The hospital has a guest house within walking distance of the hospital so we'll stay the night there. It's clean, well furnished, and only $50 a night. Sending warm wishes to all, especially those of you in the cold climes with so much snow to deal with!:ghug:

Had good visit to doc yesterday. My prednisone tapering will take six months.

He understands that I may well get sicker as crohns flares. He’s agreed to do fecal calprotectin test any time I ask for it. My options now limited medically wise, plus I’ve been on various chemo drugs since 2009. He understands my request for surgery not drug trials or funding it myself.

I’ve also been referred to surgeon to discuss gastric surgery. Reasons are to reduce my diabetes type 2 management. Currently on 3 shots fast, 1 slow insulin. Reduce my blood pressure. It gets hard managing diabetes when your on prednisone for four months. The combination will kill me, so the gastro says.

Also got to arrange another ct scan on my lungs and go to respiratory specialist as the abdominal ct showed several cysts at the base of my lungs.

I’ll keep you posted.

So it’s all “woop [emoji119] woop” in my neck of the woods.

Kirsty, that's an awful lot of nasty Nasties going on.Sending you warm thoughts and lots of hugs,me darlin'.I hope you / they find a solution very soon to make the life you deserve a LOT easier.

Blowing out the candles on a cake increases the bacteria on it by up to 1,400%....Try telling that to a five year old .
Peas can be used to treat constipation in fish...I don't know how you would know the fish is constipated....but my husband does.
The word for the inside of the elbow is a "chelidon"
And,painting eyes on cows bottoms stops lions attacking them...

That's all folks....da da da da da daaaaa

What’s the going rate for the artist painting the eyes on cows Carol...
Where is everyone today?..
Hope you are all in the pink...
I was given a pot of beautiful mini hydrangeas ,they are pink and white,,,lovely.
Thought I’d lost them today...so wilted and droopy....sadly I watered them this morning hoping to restore their lives and was astonished to see them totally recovered by evening.
Very happy at that...never had them before.
I bought a plush olive green 🧸 teddy bear in a specialty store...fell in love with it so cute and cuddly...not giving it away..
He sits quietly in the armchair while I’m out 🛍 shopping and keeping appointments..never complains and is always happy to see me,,,,
Winning....

I've got a little fluffy teddy on the bed post.I often have a chat with him and brush the hair out of his eyes....I was at a hospital appt. yesterday and I'm staying on same dose tablets for 6mnths until my next appt. I think they're working so fingers x'd.
My internet was playing up yesterday,so I logged off before I was tempted to throw my lap-top out of the window. It's not much better today.

Fingers crossed for you Carol...hope it continues to work for you..six months sounds good
for the next appointment...I always think this is a good sign..and a year even better.
I’m at two months with GP,three months GI, six months Ophthalmologist....a bit frustrating
with so many appointments but one day I might be all perfect like Mary Poppins and on my own.....and pigs might fly....
As I write my little green plush teddy is beside me peeking over my shoulder...
Now it’s time to water the plants and converse with them as I complete the task...after which it’s the household tasks...then off to the 🏬 shops.
Cheers Everybody...

I had a Betta, or Siamese Fighting Fish. They don't live that long :( Thinking about getting another one, they're so beautiful. This Valentine's my sister gave me a hand size teddy that came with a box of chocolates. I gave her a bright pink Beanie boo seal. We don't normally exchange Valentine's gifts, but both saw something that we wanted to give to the other. That sounds like bad English, it's my second language.

I have a cream super soft teddy on the pillow next to mine. He just sits there stiring in to space n does not say a word 😀
Oh well at least he stays, guess he could have left if he didnt like me. Haha😀

Love to u all xxx

That’s the beauty of it Mandy,no back answers and always smiling like Irish eyes on a spring morning......
I had no idea when I wrote about my Ted that so many are like minded...a comforting thought now I know I’m not going out of my mind...
Tuff I have never heard of Siamese fighting 🐠 🐟 🎣 fish......sounds spectacular but I am a peace lover would not like the fighting.
Carol my internet played up too...don’t blame the instrument it’s the data transmission
people messing with our tranqillisers....
The fault dear Brutus is not in our stars...but in ourselves that we are underlings(Julius Caesar)
We should not let the servers get away with it....did you complain? Neither did I....but I’m thinking of getting a different company...prices go up..service goes down...
Winning.....maybe

Sort of sucks to be in New Zealand today. Tragedy for all those families that have lost loved ones.

Thinking of them all. [emoji178][emoji178][emoji178][emoji178]

Have just seen the headlines Kirsty.Really sad and shocking news.Especially at your side of the world.:frown::frown:

Apart from the bad news,I hope you're having a better day...:rosette2:

Trysha I had "A" betta. You can only keep one male in a tank, they're territorial since they're the ones that take care of the eggs and fry.

Kirsty, good to see you.It is such a tragedy...why can’t people live in peace.
My niece is in Wellington right now and is in hospital there with an eye infection...and has been told she cannot fly with an eye infection.
Her return flights have to be rescheduled since her flights back to UK were on Sunday.
She has some good friends looking out for her...and is talking to me over the web.
I was interested to see her hospital supper tray being delivered...it contained one bowl of tomato soup, one main dish unidentifiable, and one 🍎 so looks like all hospital food is the same....
Tuff...that’s good but you’d think he’d be lonely
Hi Carol,Mandy,Chris.....

I put a bird feeder up in the park across the road yesterday and some toe-rag has pinched it !!! I mean why would you do that ? It was a net with peanuts in and cost a measly 50p.Next time I'll take my step ladders and a hammer and nails...Spiteful sw*ne...

What a horrible thing to do....poor birds...there’s always a vulture about ..ready to take advantage.
When I was in hospital rehab ward there were four quite attractive looking vultures circling outside my window...interesting to watch as long as your not too Poorly....they visited for four long months till I went home. They had to stay hungry
and I still see them when I pass the hospital.
My niece is still languishing in hospital with her eye infection....one step forward two back.
It is a Pseudomonas.....these are bacteria very resistant to antibiotics ...but she seems to be holding her own with it and there’s are signs of slight improvement.
Hope it resolves soon. She has to keep rescheduling her flight back to UK.
Lovely sunny day.....very cold.....good old St Patrick’s day today.....
Cheers....

Hi, still a lot going on over here. We are a small country, only 4.8 million, so when 50 people are killed and 50 injured, the likelihood of knowing someone who knows some one impacted by this is high. My good friends sister-in-law was a friend of one victim. One of the young children attended a kindergarten that two of my friends work for.

My GP said it’s going to take me six months to taper off the prednisone, that a bit depressing.

Work is going well [emoji16]
Jammer is great [emoji16]

Stay safe

I made it to the doctors office today... Routine labs and such... Too bad you aren't still in the lab, Trysha. I would definitely trust your lab results more than ours... I hope you are all doing okay.

Big hugs Kirsty, I hope you're getting on the right track soon. I'm very sad for your loss of innocent civilians and for everyone else who has been left affected. The world is in a hand basket already and I'm quite afraid of where it's headed.

Peace and Love,

-C

Hi everyone, it's been a while since I popped in. Laya turns 3 months old tomorrow. She's an absolute joy and makes us so happy with her smiles [emoji4]

On the other hand, my back is all messed up from childbirth. I've been going to physical therapy. It's extremely bad that I can't lift the baby or do anything for her except feed her. I've been so low on spirits lately and completely hopeless that I might be okay.

I hope everyone is doing better than I am [emoji173]

I hope things improve, Madhu. A chiropractic consult sounds like an idea to me. I think I speak for all of us when I say we have missed you. Keep us up to date and feel free to give me a holler about back pain, I have been in the same boat... Minus the sweet little baby of course... And I almost bet the farm that she is darn sweet! I mean it about the back pain, I live with it daily so I know a few tricks and stretches etc... Best wishes to you and your husband.

Nice to hear from you,

-C

Hope you are feeling better Kirsty...
Chris thank you for the kind words...I am ever vigilant when I need lab work and have had a few kindly words with the bosses where something is not quite right.
Madhu it’s sogood to see you...sorry about your back ...what has happened..is it a slipped disc or muscle strain...or both?
Hope you will soon be better.Lovely to hear of the 👶 baby...three months old already...
Winning.....

Welcome back, Madhu! Glad to hear that Laya is a happy baby! But you need to take of you and your back, as well as the baby. My hubby has had back problems for many years, and has found the most relief with an inversion table. It's a simple machine that you lie on, secure your feet, and then hang upside down. Even just a few minutes seems to help. It takes up quite a bit of space, which we don't have, so it's out on the porch. We were lucky to find a used one on CraigsList, so I don't know how much a new one costs. You might want to look for one online. Hugs to the new little one!:Flower:

I'll say it for you... Spiteful Swine!

You have very good manners, Carol.:D

Thanks everyone. She really is a good baby. Only cries for hunger or sleep and sometimes if she wants cuddles :) The other day she was hungry but I couldn't move fast due to my back. My mom held her and I explained to her that mommy needs some time because she is in pain. And she was so patient while I got myself ready slowly. I was so moved!

Trysha, this is what the physical therapist told me. The pelvis and lower back is still weak from childbirth, the muscles and bones are trying to fall back into place and close the void that once held the baby. Since I'm breastfeeding, relaxin hormone is still aplenty and hence the pain. So they are helping me train my muscles to fall back into place and activate my core. Which is extremely painful to do. The therapist is confident that I will do it one day. Me not so much, due to extreme pain. I'm mostly bent over, not able to stand straight. I can't tend to the baby, so others have taken over. I need 5 mins to try to stand after sitting.

Chris, thanks. I will take you up on that :)

Thanks Nutty. That's interesting, I will look it up.

Back pain is the pits.Madhu I feel really sad for you,but hopefully what the doctor says is right and you'll be as right as rain soon.Long before babe starts getting into mischief and wrecks the happy home.

The physios advice may not sound so helpful to you at this time Madhu but it is good advice,
Only thing is most of them have not been through it.
Time is your friend and it does take time and lots of strength of mind.
You will get better and keep telling yourself this....it’s mind over matter....in another month you won’t know yourself...everything takes time and your body has just experienced the miracle of life ....an enormous event.
Wish I could come there and help you get better.
Just when we thought spring had arrived...lovely sunny day yesterday....what did we wake up to this morning..piles of snow......
Cheers Everybody....

Hi all a brief pop in from me.
Madhu i cant believe Laya is 3 months already... where does the time go !!. Aw i really hope your back improves quickly, it must be so painful and frustrating. Hugs n love 💝💖

Hi Trysha, Carol, Kirsty, Chris, Nutty , Tuff and anyone iv missed (sorry). :ghug: 💝💖

Not long now till my holiday✈ 🏖cant wait 🙂🙂.

Wishing everyone well and hoping for those under the weather to get better soon. Much loves. Xxx

I hope everyone is doing okay. It's been pretty warm here today. I didn't need the heater in the truck...That's a good sign the A/C is the next dial to be turned up. Well, it's beer O' clock here as my hand would agree to... Cheers all!

Still chilly here Chris..but lovely sunshine all day..
You sound quite cheerful that’s what warm sunshine does for us.
I had that weak at the knees feeling today...made it to Physiotherapy and came straight home afterwards.
Bit better for resting...
Trouble is no appetite...try to eat but never get through it no matter what it is..
world situation is a mess.....trouble wherever we look....Brexit exit...etc...
I have a niece back packing in New Zealand...thank goodness away from the trouble centre.
She ended up in hospital with a severe eye infection...she has been inpatient for a week and
No sign of getting out yet...it’s really bad.She had to cancel her flights back to UK and cannot fly without a note from the doctor..she not yet fit anyway..but the airline said they will book her when she’s ready and only with a note from the doctor.
I have been pondering about flying there for her but not sure if I can handle all the travel..
I think it’s a 24hour journey with aircraft changes.
Not much going on at LOW these days...maybe winter ennui.....
Have a good evening

Big hugs, Trysh. Life sure is a struggle.... isn't it?... But the toughest will always prevail and outlast the rest. She comes from a tough bunch. I wish you, her and all your family the very best, always! NEVER GIVE UP! That's my motto, and if you like it... keep it as your own. I hope your niece back packing in New Zealand clears that eye infection darn soon. I also hope that many, many more adventures in life await her.

-C

Therein lies a big story Chris.....her marriage is on the verge of breaking up,,in fact I think it has..and that’s why she went travelling..currently she is not doing well, we talked this evening. She is still in hospital but told me she may get out next week.........
Now she is unsure what awaits her when she returns to UK.
I told her to come to me in Canada and stay as long as she likes to recover and plan her future. She has her degree in Media Studies and specializes in graphics among other things...
I much prefer they would qualify in medicine or one of the lab disciplines.....probably too much hard word.......
You already have half my motto...but thanks for sharing....mine is
Never give up and never give in.....
Winning.......maybe

Hi Trysha. I hope your niece soon gets better and can fly home. It would be lovely for you if she could come to you for a while. Im sure it would be good for both of you to spend some time together. Take care 💝

Hi Chris it was a lovely warm sunny day here yesterday. No need for a coat🙂. Hope you enjoyed your drink. 💕

Love to all 💖💖xx

Queen Victoria had a sprig of holly placed below her collar as a child to train her to keep her chin up.

Haha! We had to do that when we were kids, too! For some reason, posture was very important back then. Of course, now that I am old and decrepit, it's even more important, but I don't think I will be balancing books on my head any more!

Hi got through the week, yay. Very tired [emoji99]. On Monday I meet the surgeon, I’ll keep you posted. Been a heavy week emotionally here as well. But we all got through it, together, we are one, united in grief.

Hi Kirsty
Good to hear from you.....now take it easy as much as you can and build up you strength.
We are cold with snow but bright sunshine makes us think it warmer outside than it is...
walk through the front door to be greeted with a cold blast of icy air....soon wakes you up....
My niece is now out of hospital today but has to return as an outpatient...still not allowed to fly..but the airline has been very helpful.
Now I’m going to Niagara Falls for some R&R...we live near there...
Have a good day Everyone...

There is more information in one edition of the New York Times than the average
person in 17th century England would have come across in a lifetime.

For water to flow 100 meters through the ground down a 1 degree slope takes
5 days through gravel, 13.7 years through sand and 137,000 years through clay.

I've been trying to remove grout from floor tiles at the back entrance and stairs, so I can redo it. Me and my bright ideas. It was really hard with my peripheral neuropathy. I can't kneel or squat for very long, so I'm doing it sitting down, and thankfully remembered that I have a rotary tool I'd used for wood carving. There's some bits that can be used on metal, so I figured they'd be good for grout. Working great, and I can rest my very sore arms. Winning...

Hi guys, thought it was time i popped in, hope everyone is doing ok, we are back in Tauranga for 3 months, kiwifruit time again. Take care guys

Hi Trev, great to hear from you.Kirsty is also keeping us in the loop about her latest run of health problems, bless her....Did I tell you my sis in law and her family lived in Tauranga.I probably did. It's a senior thing, repeating yourself.Hope you and yours are keeping well.

Winning...just to pip you at the post Chris...hope you had a good Sunday...
Been out all day and it’s very tiring....
Hi Mandy...not long before you are living it up on a nice sandy 🏖 beach....watch out for
the sand fleas......good biters...we encountered a few when we went to Mexico..didn’t feel the bites but my legs were scarlet and then itchy....
Carol...any spare sprigs of holly your way....
Hi! Everybody...
Winning"."....

Trysha,we know you're the best at keeping your chin up without the Holly....

Here's your Thought For The Day......It was 33yrs after loo paper was invented in Green Bay Wisconsin, that it could finally be advertised as " splinter free"

Oh ye ouch indeed 😥.
Thanks for the heads up Trysha..sand fleas are actualy crustceans and not insects. You may well already know that info. If you didnt you (and maybe others)do now haha.

Can be nasty blighters re bites tho. Never met one yet mind and hoping to keep it that way...no offence to the nippy little beggers😀😀

Keep well all of you lovely peeps. Hugs n loves 💖💝xx

Carol....there are times lately I would like that sprig of holly propping up my chin....
I believe there were paper mills out that way you mentioned and having had experience going along the far northern USA states facilities were very primitive like a plank of wood over a hole in the ground...really high up and dangerous to fall down the hole with a steep drop to no mans land below...the bathroom tissue did have very thin paperywoody pieces in it.Best take your own....
In fact there was a terrible story of a little girl kidnapped by a predator and placed down one of these places.
She was saved by someone who went to use the facility and heard the little girl crying..
They asked what she was doing down there and she said it was her home...she was all of five years old I believe...she was a listed missing child then of course was rescued.
The pedophile was caught and dealt with...
It’s at least thirty to fifty feet below...
Sad world we live in....
Mandy you are quite right ...did you study parasitology?....and these tiny almost microscopic crustaceans 🦞
can range in size from a grain of pepper to a rice grain in sizes and have bad tempers and hearty bites...
The female sand flea is different to this...but they all can give nasty bites which sometimes carry bad diseases..
Hope the sun shines to morrow....
Winning....

My allergies have been driving me nuts. Dust and dust mites. I'm going to have to take my bedroom apart and give it a good clean, maybe even get rid of the curtains. I'm tired of sneezing and having a red nose. Time to buy those mattress covers I've been meaning to get. Other than that, life is good, spring is in the air and soon I can go rake. Winning....

Trysha i did not study parasitology, just some info iv gleened over the years . I find it amazing what stuff we get to know over time, without even trying sometimes :). Keep well girl💕

Chris hope you are good at the moment. 💕

Have been doing great here since Dec. surgery but last few days the bigD has returned with cramps, etc. Not sure if it was the tacos we ate Saturday or if flares are returning now. Next infusion isn't until April 11, so I hope it's just the tacos. Wish there was some way to know for sure what is going on in the gut day by day.
Cheers to everyone- Happy Spring!:drink:

Lol Carol love the list. CTNOL.. cant talk now on loo :)

Aw nutty i do hope it is the tacos. Hope you feel better soon. 💕

Trysha i hope you feel better soon too hun. 💕

Love to all, hugs :ghug:

HI there, I have had my ct scan just waiting for results but I know there are cysts in my lungs the surgeon told me on Monday. The meeting with him was interesting but there is no easy solution. He is going to start talking with another surgeon and my gastro in regards to gastric bypass with people that have had a nissen fundoplication and crohns in their jenjunum. The gastric sleeve is out due to the fact that my severe reflux would come back. The surgeon showed my on ct scan my unique malfunction esophagus and a small umbilical hernia. I’m currently on 25mg prednisone tapering 2.5 every two weeks. So far so good. The thought of tapering and getting sick again is that flash to look forward too.

Aw kirsty. I wish you all the best of luck with it all. Hunnie ypu deserve a break..boy do you. Love n hugs💖💝

Nutty thank you..i sure will 😃💕

Awww, Kirsty... I sure wish you didn't have all that trouble going on. You fight the good fight and take darn good care of yourself. I'm rooting for you! Big, big hugs. -C

So sorry Kirsty. You must be worried and stressed too, which doesn't help.:medal1:

Shanen,that was short and sweet.Nobody can accuse you of being a chatterbox.Hope all's well.:bigwave:

Spending sprees are fun, now that my money situation has improved. Today I bought two sets of curtains, and some red vases to go with my new red microwave. I guess that will be my new kitchen accent colour. My spring cleaning is getting out of hand.....

I have splashes of red in my kitchen...but I feel like a change.Got a bread bin, toaster, shades etc. If you fancy them.

Trade you for some blue stuff? I got tired of blue. At one time, most of my clothes were different shades of blue.

Carol....that’s amazing....I also have splashes of red blending with white and chrome....don’t want to change yet only just made purchases.
I could have used yours but your power and outlets are different....sigh.....
Tuff I also like blue but could not contemplate a red white and blue kitchen...
It’s foggy and pouring with rain out there and I have to go out for necessities.....don’t mind rain since I was born and bred in it (UK)........also used to London pea soupers.....thick Fog
Don’t care for that...
Tomorrow we have been told to look forward to landscape redesigning snow....
Winning...

The darkness of the sky is light with glistening ,gleaming veils of white,
And brightening the streets below with sparkling ice and drifts of snow...
It seemed that freezing snow was past...
We now return to winters blast...
Cheers Everybody....anyone for a snow fight......

Happy Mothers Day (UK) to all the mothers who, like me,have been forgotten AGAIN !!!

It's a good thing I'm not needy or sensitive.....I did tell our son,a while back, that I'd be happy to share AUSTRALIAN mothers day,but he's like his father...doesn't listen.:(

Our clocks went forward last night so it's officially summertime ,UK summer that is.Which could be anything..:ylol2:

Very true Carol..it could well be anything at all!!

Iv no card or pressie from my son who lives in same house, so whats his excuse??? To be fair im not whinging as he is taking n paying for me to go on holiday. So im gussing thats my mothers day treat. 😁😁
Iv a couple of busy days now before we go so if i dont post before hand il post when i get back. Or maybe while im there if wifi works 🙂
Love n hugs to all, keep well and keep safe. Xxx

Safe trip Mandy. Enjoy your holiday. Snowy and windy here today. Warmer and sunshine in a few days so maybe there’s hope spring is really here.

Wig wearers ! Secure your toupee in high winds by wearing a brightly coloured party hat with elasticated chin strap.Carry a balloon and a bottle of wine and you'll pass as an innocent party goer....

Just a quick pop in to say Hi ,hope all the mothers had a nice day yesterday, feeling good , ostomy behaving itself and no blowouts , joints driving me mad but bearable, hope the better weather will come soon and cheer us all up a bit , hope everyone is doing a little better because as we all know “every little helps “

Thanks Shanen..just got a dye on my hair so i dont look as old on holiday 😃😃😃..mmm might be a past that working ;)

Love tp all xxx

Have a wonderful trip fuzz. I want to stop dyeing my hair, and let it go grey. But how do you do it without getting that skunk stripe on top?

Thanks tuff. I did it by going lighter n lighter in colour from brown to redy brown to dark blonde to light blonde . So now the grey is most prominent and does show up as much with blonde hair, no skunk look🙂. X

My adventure with hair colour was short lived...I was a light brown with natural blond streaks...had it coloured a bit darker at the hairdressers...second time after it I developed shingles across the crown and back of my head, behind the ear and side of my face around to the underneath of my eye.
What a time that was and took months to heal...I still get herpetic neuralgia but acupuncture takes care of that.
Couple of years later I started going white... Persil white.... and finally my hair is all white.
The hairdresser says it is a perfect colour and that he will never colour it...not that I would allow it after the first disaster...
Have a lovely holiday Mandy and stay safe...enjoy the warm sandy beaches.
Tony...it’s that time of year for bone aches and I sympathize with you...such a misery.
Feel better soon.
I have a good old English hot water bottle that helps with aches and pains...
Carol I’ll remember the wig advice when it’s time to address that situation....
Wintry freezing cold winds....ice and snow..but I see the temperature is supposed to increase as the week progresses.
Winning.....

If any of you like trying new browsers, I got one called Vivaldi. You can customize it, I think it was meant for geeks. I like it so far, but my bookmarks got a bit messed up. It dug up a bunch of old ones I had deleted. I'm also trying Bing as a search engine. I'm tired of how Google and Yahoo track you.
