Carol..theres every reason for you to be here with thought provoking statements
and your unique blend of witticisms.......
Wouldnt mind a cup of what you are drinking....no chocolate though...
Nice sunny day....going for a walk after voting.
The poll booths are in our apartment building...no excuses allowed for not voting......
The women in our family were in the suffragette movement...it took courage and loads of persistence for us to get the vote
I never miss voting.....whatever the weather...

Winning.....

Interesting stuff of the day...….The skin that peels off after sunburn is called blype
As of 2002 in New York City, rats outnumbered humans by 12 to 1
A cubic mile of seawater contains on average, £60 million worth of gold and £6 worth of silver
The average person flexes the joints in their fingers 24 million times in their life time
A chicken is the only animal that can be eaten before it is born and after it is dead
Nutmeg is extremely poisonous if injected intravenously......

We got an awesome guy that installed our cable setup. I told him I wanted to be put to work and he thought that was great. He went up the pole and I drilled and pulled wires. Everything works great and we have the Full NHL package, so that's awesome... I'm a big hockey fan. It turns out he rides motorcycles too. A good day all in all. I hope everyone is doing as best as possible.

Nice one Chris...enjoy your hockey🙂
I bet the cable guy thought yippeee!!this job has just got easier. What he didnt know though,is that you were just really keeping a close eye on his work.. I'm guessing im right there ye?? 🙂💞

All that glitters is not gold Carol....
It could be true that when paddling in the sea Iam looking for cool refreshing waves.....but if I had known about the gold then i would have looked harder
Sunday am my left arm became partly numb with a bit of pain
Talked with physio on Monday since I thought he could make it better....he said to go to emergency.
Since I had. gP appt on Tuesday am...and the arm was improving ...although i had quite a headache...I waited.
When my GP saw me he had a blue fit when I told him about it...stressing i was now ok.
He ordered me straight to ER at the hospital from his office......i was really ticked.
So I was admitted and CAT brain scan plus ECG plus the inevitable blood work plus the IV. Completed.
Results ok for everything except one brain test i never heard of and that is being reviewed by the experts today.
At 2am this morning the doc said it would all be reviewed today and if i wanted could go home or stay in hospital
till everything was analysed. The test is related to a severe form of migraine...and i do get frequent migraines usually stopped with acupuncture
Could not miss the opportunity to go home so here I am..no phone calls yet from the 🏥 hospital....
My mother was always saying i needed my head examined ...now she would be quite proud of the achievements...
Hope everyone is on the up and up
Winning.....

No place like home....
Thanks Mandy and Chris for the upbeat messages.
Into each life some rain must fall...just have to get up and on with life....soon be 🎄 Christmas...i can tell
because Christmas decorations are rapidly appearing in our shops......I know Carol enjoys seeing these!,?
Winning...

Chris may like Hockey, I'm more of a College (American) Football fan. My Utah Utes are 6-1 and ranked #12 in the nation right now. If everything goes right in the 2nd half of the season Utah should be in the conference Championship game, and hopefully headed for the Rose Bowl this year. Go UTES!

Thank you for the kind thoughts Grumpy.....i feel much better...looking on the bright side
Hoping things are better for you and that its a good day.
Looks like the start of a good weather day...I keep wondering about snow...nothing but good weather right
now...just a spot of rain now and then
Winning..

I can just imagine you saying to yourself "Oh,what now"!!!! when your arm pain started Trysha.Glad to hear your feeling positive though.Good news from this end..Les has been given the all clear from his (our) cancer scare.Just needs a final scan in six weeks.I really can't remember much of the past six months except for appointments and all the other stuff that goes with a debilitating illness.Just got to build him up a bit then we'll be out on the bikes...with the snow chains on probably.

Thats the kind of wonderful news makes my day Carol....beats all the negatives.
When i was in hospital my favourite necklace disappeared from my handbag....i had left it in the bedside table..when taken to radiology for the cat scan.
There was a staff individual who had remarked how nice it was....,..my fault i should have taken the bag with me.
It was very pretty one i had purchased on my last visit to England this year...not expensive certainly replaceable
But a sickening thing to happen....very upsetting ...my bed was opposite the nursing station and i was under constant observation with front curtains open all the time .All the other patients curtains were closed....just my luck and my fault.
Fortunately I had given my wallet and ipod to a friend to take for safekeeping.
When I saw your good news it changed my day to more positive thinking...news does not get any better than this..,
thanks for sharing...if i was there I would take you all to a swish restaurant for a lovely English tea..
Winning....

Carol thats brilliant news hen,🙂 im so very glad and pleased all is good. Hugs to you for all you've been through with this plus your own troubles and to Les for the same and his strength in fighting the C devil.
Wishing you both well and praying you both get a breather from it all.💞💞💋

Trysha that appalling!!!😡 certainly not your fault, so sorry you have been stolen from, regardless of its value you should not be stolen from, especially from nursing staff.
I'd be raising merry hell if it happened to me...what an abuse of trust!!. Stealing from a person is bad enough but an unwell person to boot, despicable is what it is...i hope whoever stole it gets their due karma thrice fold.
Big hugs 💞💞

Thanks Mandy...
I dont know who took the necklace could have been anyone ,there were patient visitors up an down all the time.
Should have been safer so close to the nurses station..
I have been in touch with the patient feedback people and they are going to take a look at it all.
My fault...i should have taken the bag to radiology with me......next time I will....
Meantime the family is on the lookout for another one like it.
Winning....

Hi all. Carol, I'm so very, very, very pleased that Les has been given the all clear on his cancer. Trysha, I love your attitude, to let Carol's victory outshine and cast away your own shadows or troubles, you are indeed a caring person. As is this whole group here on LOW, which always eventually draws me back. Kudos to all of you. When (if) I grow up, I want to be just like all of you.
💗
P.S. No tats for me.
P.P.S. Bentley and Ninja said "woof" and "meow."

No you did not Sandy....thank you for those kind words.
Cant think..brain numb...inspiration wont come...
It is astounding to say the least to read of mans inhumanity to man....thinking of the thirty nine
poor souls (RIP) who died in a truck smuggling racket in England....the perpetrators are being rrounded up.
What has mankind come to that countries will not openly take people from other countries who want to make better lives for themselves.
This forces desperate people to seek help from criminals.
Heartbreaking to see a young girl calling her mother and saying she could not breathe....

Nothing to add to Trysha's above post...…..I don't even want to imagine what those poor people endured.

As to the theft of your necklace. If someone want's something of mine so badly that it would make a difference to their miserable life, then I would rather give it to them.Husband, son and pets excluded of course.
Just a last note on Les's health...His consultant was impressed that he had endured both radio and chemotherapy together and didn't miss an appointment...Of course Les didn't know he had a choice or things might have been different .Happy Saturday friends.

Carol...it is so heartwarming to hear about Les and the positive response to challenging treatment schedules.
Plus there is no doubt you contributed greatly to his recovery.
It is great to know that modern medicine works.
Now let us hope for a cure of Crohns just around a corner somewhere
My family has sent out a search party through the stores looking for necklaces similar to the misplaced one....
I have a large family in England and will likely end up with a great selection.
Lovely sunshine...freezing cold here....its a good autumn in our area.....no snow...yet.
Winning....

Lovely Autumn day, bright and fresh. We had a walk in the park and I got the idea to make a collage of fallen leaves, so naturally spent the whole walk looking at the ground. I need a good few more though.I've pressed them between kitchen tissue and put them under the rug.
I've collected shells and bonny stones in the past.I have coloured volcanic stones from the ice age.I collected them on Alfies last holiday in Scotland and they're in a bronze pot on the hearth.Occasionally I rub them with oil to bring the colour up.It doesn't take much to please me,but I'm definitely NOT arty farty. No knitting, sewing or crochet from me.

Carol i would have loved to be on that walk with you....my interest being with the vocanic stones from the ice age.
When you hold one in your hands does it conjure up pictures of neanderthal man...or any historic figures?
No knitting sewing or crochet from me either.....my sisters were quite adept in these arts while i was studying
and constantly reading....
Winning..

Hi all glad to see you are doing ok at the mo. Im doing ok too. Those poor people..its a crying shame that that should happen..God bless them.
Just a quick pop in as im ready to go to sleep, exhausted with work at present...the dreaded christmas displays are in full swing.

Big hugs and love to each and everyone of you. 💞💖💞💖

Mandy, We have something worse than Christmas decorations going up. We had SNOW today!

Sorry Grumpy..;) Trysha the stones were washed down the Scottish glens during / after the last ice age which covered most of the Northern hemisphere. They are different textures and colours, and yes they do make me wonder. In the area we were in are caves up the hillside where bears, wolves and mammoth remains were discovered. We did try to get up there but it was very wet and getting dodgey underfoot so we had to turn back.Happy days though.

That is so interesting Carol and the way you describe it is quite vivid...you should write a a book about it.
I would just love to explore that area...and read more about it.
I wonder if it dates back to when the world was one complete continent?.........
Would you believe my necklace has turned up and I am so happy.
My friend who drove me to the hospital had it in his pocket....because I asked him to keep my valuables.....then he had to go out of town for a relatives funeral ,forgot it was in his pocket when he had returned my wallet and ipod.....
Now i am sorry for all my unfounded suspicions...and upsetting you all ....
It is brilliant sunshine today....must force myself to go for a walk.....I dont feel quite myself but I will lie low like Brer Rabbit,
Winning.....

So glad it turned up Trysha.. i retract my blame on the nursing staff , il maybe shut my trap n stop crying before im hurt in future🤐...

Carol I'm sure could write many books....as she is our font of all knowledge and wisdom .
Carol get your pen out girl x💞

Hope all are well 💖💞

Mandy...I feel very contrite for even mentioning it now.
I think if i did not mention it to him it would still be in his pocket....his mind being on too many other things...
what with the funeral plus his own health concerns...its a worrying time for him.
He has to see a cancer specialist tomorrow for a lesion on his face.
The bad headache that started everything iis still with me....left arm is weak and my hand is not quite with it...
Still macnaged to do the vacuuming today plus the eternal dusting...its a very dusty and windy city.
Winning....

Aw Trysh it was a genuine mistake re the necklace.. to be fair it could have been what you 1st thought. Fortunately it wasn't and all's good 🙂

Aw bless your friend i hope he can get well and soon .
Hope your headache leaves you in peace and you feel better soon too hun 💞💖💋

Thanks Mandy.....
Alls well that ends well i suppose.
Headache is still killing me...stayed in today and its so sunny with blue skies..
Not sure how i can get rid of it..but i am not asking any docs.....cant bear the thought of any more hospitals......
Winning....

Awww, Trysha, nobody can blame you for your thoughts. In my experience they are well founded with hospital staff. When I was in the hospital a few years ago for seizures, upon discharge my expensive cell phone that I had kept a close eye on, except for one brief second when packing and didn't know Doug had stepped out of the room, my expensive cell disappeared. (I didn't know it yet tho.) I know who stole it too, tho he had hidden it by the time the incompetent police investigated. (It was the orderly/person who wheeled me down to the door.) It rang in his pocket with my ring tone in the elevator on the way down to the lobby, he pulled it out briefly to silence it, it was my brand and model, and I commented "oh, that's just like my phone." When I got to the lobby, I got a sinking feeling, I checked my bag that had my phone in it and it was gone. I immediately called security (campus/ university hospital police), but they were incompetent. Took him at his word.

Thats just awful Sandy but its only the real police who can act and properly investigate.
I am so glad to have the necklace back....it is an uusual one and very attractive...wont be wearing it
to hospitals again.
this time I had no choice since the GP was having a blue fit at my condition...good job it was better than he thought
He insisted i go straight to the hospital from his office...when i got to ER was checked in and sat for six hours
before I had a bed...nobody checked in all that time....I could have died and they would not have known.
The nursing station was situated such that they could not see the patients..
Had nothing to eat or drink at this stage for 12 hours ....and had a severe headache which went on forever...I still have it over a week later.
Modern medicine is in a parlous state to say the least.
Hope you are feeling better these days....I envy your trips with the 🚣‍♀️ 🚣 boat ⛵️ sailing the seven seas.
Winning.....

Just back from a stroll along the river, well I should say the mouth of the river. It's a lovely day and we're trying to catch up on the walks we missed while Les was unwell .It'll take a while to get our fitness levels back to what they were ,if ever.To be honest I'm just happy to have the life we do. As the saying goes....Don't sweat the small stuff....Happy Tuesday all.

Chris...did you demolish the beer between your two posts....??
Please dont hurt the deer..after all it is their home too.....long before we entered the scene...
Good to be back at the walks Carol...it is the healthiest exercise and easy to do.
Went shopping with friends this evening....Christmas madness is sneaking in....I saw English biscuits each one named after an English town....interesting....what will they think up next?
Lots of European stuff in some stores..very nice...bit high end some of it...
Winning......

Well done Mandy...
Carol is adept at brain stimulating exercises....thats a very thoughtful thing to do
Use it or lose it.....
Its such a foggy rainy day out there.....I would like to go out for fresh air and exercise but I think it would be
better to wait till tomorrow....
On the other had...never put off till tomorrow what can be done today...
Getting togged up and ready to go...
Winning.....

Enjoy your walk Trysha…….the communal nurse requested a 'script for Les on Tuesday.I rang the surgery this morning to be sure it was ready before I went to collect it,and it was.Stood in a huge queue at the pharmacy, eventually handed it in and after a ten minute wait was informed that the GP hadn't signed it.Back to doc's and was just seconds away from him leaving for lunch.Back to chemists only to wait a further ten minutes + only to be told they had none in stock.Visited a further three outlets and they had none either.I mean.we're talking about hydrocortisone cream here.My flab was well and truly ghasted….I just walked out without ordering it "for tomorrow".I don't know what the nurse will say tomorrow.

It can be purchased over the counter here Carol...".could i send some to you?
The drug stores over there are enough to make a well person sick..whatever has happened to the old fashioned
Chemist of yesteryear...who were so knowledgeable and helpful .

Nurse was very understanding .I've ordered it for tomorrow, fingers x'd. I wish they'd told me I could get it O.T.C, as the nurse did this morning. It wasn't a matter of life and death but I'm having a mini flare and it doesn't take much to tip me over the edge, you all know what I mean.

Some people my age are climbing mountains or diving with sharks. I'm just happy to be able to get my leg in my underwear without falling over.
;)

Know exactly what you mean Carol.......not easy to function at times
I have a real mountain, perhaps better described as a Niagara escarpment that I have not climbed in ages.
Going down is pretty fast coming back up takes a lot of effort.
The downtown is gateway to all the stores and malls ....
Of course there are plenty of buses to get around and taxis (expensive)...
Incidentally if skin itch is driving a person to distraction then it is urgent to get prescribed cream for some relief
That was a trial for Job....and there was no cream to be had in those days....
Mandy ...today is the tomorrow to which you previously referred...hope you are having a good day...
Winning....

Carol. Indeed i know what you mean 🙄🤯
Well !! you are lucky, coz i do fall over while performing the said task 🙀...still while im getting back up again theres hope 🙂x
Trysha, im ok, have had a day n half of frequent loo trips but good otherwise thanks. Oh and iv managed to gain just over half a stone in weight 😁😁😁 im now 8 n half stones yippeeeee!!! .x

Take care everyone lots of love n hugs to all. Xxx💞💞💖💖

Hi Chris.....thats a very short conversation.....
Mandy....hope you and Carol are improving healthwise...i know you are both perfectly perfect in
every way like Mary Poppins...
Took the express bus to Toronto to visit St Michaels Cathedral for Remembrance Day.
The bus was packed...I had the sweetest dog next to me who was not really happy with the bus but tolerated it well.
She did not have an ipad like her owner........
Amazes me to see that babies in prams have them and some actually use them!,!, what kind of future are we getting Into?
Talk about 1984......
Winning......

In few years i fear babies in the womb will be using ipads n the like....tho as the world will eventually be computer run ,maybe they will need to more tech savvy then ever before.

1984 has been around for sometime. We cant even go to the loo without some bugger knowing about it 🙀

Have a good day /evening all 💞💖

Ha ha Carol...trust you to find an appropriate comment.
By the time 50 years roll by its no longer modern...or is it.?

As a kid we had a metal chain to pull and it would sometimes fall off...big disaster and inquisition as to what we were doing to it....
So right Mandy...
Reminds me i have a GI appointment on Wednesday........
Sun is trying to get out from behind the clouds still windy.
Spectacular red sunsets these days and beautiful cloud formations some of which are tinted blue.

Oh dear.....messages are getting shorter so I will make mine longer....
Cant think...brain numb.....inspiration wont come......
GI asked me today how about some scopes......sufficient unto the day is the evil thereof....so I put it off....but he said
I can see him anytime plus he has started daily ppi.........
Sooner try the non invasive route first....
Returned home to find an appointment for CAT urogram....organised by urologist......cant win for losing sometimes...
Winning........

Why would you stop buying books Carol...it is a pastime most of us enjoy and you can always pass them on.
Wish I was there for you to pass on the books....
Think i would have gone crackers without them during long hospital stays...
I know we have ipads and can read from them but its not like sitting up the chimney with a good book...
Not that i have a chimney any more.....its all central heating these days.
Why do I feel so tired these days....maybe its coping with modern medicine...
Winning.....

Carol, thats sounds like heaven to me and yes i would like to think it would be a better world for it. Maybe then those who plot bad things to do, would to engrossed in a good book to bother with plotting .
I've not read for a while now as i don't seem to have time, perhaps i need to find some and dig out 1 of my many unread books. I could stop you from buying books Carol, take me with you when go shopping n il confiscate your purse till you get back home tee hee 😁 x

Trysha your tiredness probably stems from having crohns, old age and medications. Thats the bad news, the good news is you're not alone 😏. Oh for the days of boundless energy, bright eyes and a waggy tail...😉
I do wag my tail now n then .... only nobody notices anymore or if they do they tend to run in the opposite direction 🦂...no idea why tho🙂 x

Love n hugs to ya all 🤗 🤗 💞💞

Mandy...I am not old....just well preserved...
Carol. I did as you suggested...comfortably seated in the recliner, hot milk and two digestives...
awoke to cold milk and cookies....next time I wont bother with the milk...
Anyone know a fast way to reduce clothes closets ...too many clothes....too good to discard..
Then i need to reduce the kitchen cupboard contents...far too many gadgets aNd gizmos...never use...
but hard to part with......how to get ruthless...
Winning.........

You're asking the wrong person for advice on decluttering Trysha. Books and clothes are my downfall. I bought winter coat no.4 and 2 chunky wooly scarves yesterday that I really don't need.I should have stayed at home with a good book.....But I am very good at clearing out.All our charities will collect and sometimes I just put a couple of things in my bag and hand them in when I go to town.As to "good stuff" there are shops that will sell them on your behalf for a 10% cut over here. Not that I've used them mind you.All my stuff is bog standard.

As to your sleepiness...well it is winter when all sweet little souls hibernate,so snuggle down and be kind to yourself......It took me five goes to spell souls correctly....hahaha

Good to hear that Carol...
I just bought a new winter coat ...was not really necessary either...and no inside pocket.
I like my old coats, bought in England that have inside pocket for my purse...safer
It has been my misfortune to have been robbed three times over the last several years...each time after a hospital stay.
Now I am extremely cautious.
My trusty friend helps to reorganise my clothes closets whenever I need ..she also drives and so its no problem for her to take them to a charity shop.
I feel more tired than ever today and I had a good night.
All these medical appointments tire me out...not happy about another CAT scan. Where there is a choice
They use CAT scans more on the elderly here because of radiation....MRI are saved for the younger generation.
Sometimes though the type of scan can be important since they differ in analytical directions.
I was originally booked for MRI.....but the wait time can be many months..
Had our first snoflakes yesterday....no sign of it today....cold bright and sunny....halcyon blue skies...
Winning....

Locked out...missed u all! I’ll catch up later but I’m looking for an opinion. My grandmother passed away recently and left me a ring. I love it and now wear it all the time but without knowing the value. Others know the value and chastise me for wearing it.

Hi Shanen. Nice to see you back 🙂
1. It was left to you, so in my opinion its entirely up to you if you wear it or not.
2. If they know the value but choose not to tell you, so you can make a more informed decision as to wearing it or not. Then they can't really chastise you for wearing it can they!!
3. Even if you got told the value and still wished to wear it its entirely your decision, its your ring, gifted to you not them.
Love n hugs 💞

Wear your ring and enjoy it with kind thoughts of your grandmother.Shanen...sorry for your loss
Some people show jealousy in strange ways
.its a grey wintry day today but so far no snow has settled on our area...
staying in my own pea patch and watching TV if theres anything to watch
