Hi all πŸ™‚
Mmm re the pickle method...I'd end up eating a jar full 🀭 i do love a good silverskin pickle !! Then I'd probably eat the chocolate also as I'm 🐷 πŸ™‚.
Hope everyone is doing ok ? πŸ’•πŸ’žπŸ’–

I always pass on books I've read, the trouble is I buy them faster than I read them.I never was a choccy fan when I was young and a smoker, and I know chocolate is healthier than cigs, but after 26yrs smoke free I still occasionally fancy a "drag".I loved smoking and it took a lot of trial and error to stop. But if I can do that then chocolate SHOULD be a doddle.I've just had a coffee and was tempted to have a choccy biccy but I've stashed them out of reach on the top shelf and decided against getting the steps......Result !!!!

It doesnt make sense to let good chocolate biscuits go stale on a hidden shelf....
Why not have one with a cup of tea...especially when the appetite is low or missing.
I am also a reformed smoker Carol......40 years now....I had one session of acupuncture with
a Chinese Canadian doctor....never looked back.
Others smoking does not bother me thank goodness.
Anyone buy lottery tickets.....the current prize of one of them here is 70 million......why not break it up so seventy people could win....enough is as good as a feast.
That said..I rarely buy lottery tickets....seems like a big scam to me...and where does alll the money go....
Winning....

Mmmm you may well b right Trysha re scam to a degree!!! The chances of winning are so slim that if they put away the money that people do spend on it(some spend 10s of pounds a week or more) they would probably save the million b4 winning it...πŸ€‘

We don't do the lottery either, but you have to be in it to win it.A couple won two million last weekend and then 2 days later their teenage son got the all clear from cancer. Now that's a deserved happy ending eh ?
I agree Trysha, one million is enough for anyone or should be. People have been known to queue for tickets when the jackpot reaches huge amounts.Pure greed !!!

Thats heartwarming about their son...and now they can all enjoy a bit of what money brings...a happy ending indeed.
Where have all the members gone.....long time no see...
Still a dizzy lizzy..but incidence is getting less..hope it goes away by tomorrow...
We had a good snowfall on Saturday...but now most has melted away....different to most by gone years...but
Must be grateful for small mercies.....
Winning....

Too many of you here don't feel well. :cry:Gentle hugs to ALL of you, whether well or not. And whether you like it or not, he he. I'm a hugger. (Ok, I won't if you don't like it.)
We went to California for my niece's wedding. It was a (mostly) great trip, minus a few crohn's and health moments, etc. But overall, Doug and I are as well as can be.
Is Les still doing ok Carol?
Believe it or not, it is the first time Doug and I have been to the coast together. We dipped our toes in the ocean, collected a few shells, and walked down a long pier at Oceanside, an accomplishment for me. My niece was beautiful, her hubby seems like a very nice man (they both look like babies to me), and we're glad to be home.
And Carol, I was going to make some new year's resolutions, but haven't gotten to them yet. I guess if I had they would be broken by now. :ROFLMAO:

Hey Sandy girlπŸ™‚ so nice to see you and hear that you and Doug are relatively well πŸ™‚.. Aw i bet your niece was a beautiful bride. πŸ‘°
Yey another pickle addict ,mmm yummy!!πŸ’•πŸ’ž

Thanks for asking Sandy,Les is doing ok as to his cancer and we're hoping for an "all clear" when we see the consultant at the end of the month. He does have side affects from the treatment though. His memory and concentration is'nt good and he's also talking in his sleep and sleepwalking.I have to hide the outdoor keys in case he wanders off.I'm assuming it's because the radiotherapy to his throat was very close to his brain and also having chemo at the same time knocked him for six....but we're very grateful nonetheless.

Heres hoping for the all clear Carol..glad he is doing well bar the odd few things you have mentioned. Hope these resolve in time hen.
Please give him my best wishes.. remember to take care of yourself too my lovely. Sometimes i wish i didn't have to work...id trip up to you and give you a rest and take care of you for abit. Tho if you are owt like me,its taking care of others that keeps us going. πŸ’•πŸ’ž Xx

Good to see you Sandy
Sorry to hear about Les...Carol ...but good that you are ready for evasive action.....
It takes a while and lots of patience to get over the side effects of radiation and chemo...its quite a double whammy.
Hope everything will be good at his check up.
You are quite right Mandy..taking care of our families can be a good distraction..
Our sidewalks and grounds have been beautified with snowfalls...its ok as long as its looked at through the window...
different when walking through it...but thats what we have to do....enjoy Nature..
Winning.......

Thankyou both.It is worrying and a bit scarey when Les goes on a wander. But it is funny when he also talks,The other night he shook me awake mumbling "Bill,Bill it's full of worms". I just said "they'll be gone in the morning, come back to bed ",,,,he was standing at the bottom of the bed, asleep. When we discussed it in the morning he remembered that the bed was full of worms but didn't have a clue who "Bill" was.We don't know any bills except the gas and electric...any way we can at least laugh, but I have had to wrestle with him on occasion which is worrying.... .It's a good job I'm strong or I might have to take a saucepan to bed to wack him with.

Carol...it might be worth mentioning this to the docs caring for Les....maybe a change of meds could be
in order.
Its good you keep a sense of humour...but also worrying for you.
Everything takes time....and his body has been through a horrendous time and will take time to mend.
He has already come a long way.
I was helping a friend. 85 years old....who is not computer savvy but uses a laptop for her charitable secretarial work..not interested in internet..
Quite difficult to help someone like this.
She bought a new printer with my help and advice..........we did get a bargain and an easy to use machine.
I told her to just plug it in and it would work...she was unable to do this...so I went to her apartment in the same building
Expecting a simple task......forgetting she had no internet connection.
What a palaver that was.
Fortunately we have an expert in the building and even he tried without realising there was no internet connection.
He took the computer and printer to his place and spent a few hours getting it connected.
Now its working fine with no internet connection....and I have yet to find out how he did this....
The things I do for old England......
Winning....
.

Yes Trysha,I will certainly mention it when we go at the end of the month. He's not on any meds. and we're sure he's now in remission and this next appt.will be the last for the time being. Cancer treatment does have a variety of side effects,as a lot of you know, and they can last for a long time. But he's hugely better and for that we're very grateful, and we can laugh ,which helps.
The daffodils are beginning to push through in sheltered spots in the park.

Good evening Carol old chum. I'm well...well well ish the old arthur is giving me gyp at the moπŸ˜”. I am cracking on though as per usualπŸ™‚.

Carol, mum is much the same at the mo...though they have now decided to do an op on her spine which will hopefully relieve the pain she has from trapped nerves. Then we hope she can walk better once pain is gone/eased. Thanks for asking hen πŸ’žxx

Love n best wishes to all xxπŸ’–

Trapped nerves are nasty things, bless her.I hope she doesn't have to wait too long for an op.and hopefully some relief from the pain. But of course,as I'm sure you know, spine operations are no pic-nic.Keep us posted me darlin'.

Glad you are muddling tho... sure is,i had a cry at work friday morning just felt abit overwhelmed, talking of comic cuts, you should see me im a disaster on legs most days...losing my balance ,dropping things not able to find anything coz i can't remember where i put them !!!
Not quite sure how i get thro the day...haha xx

I'd like to learn to ski but I'm worried about my knees, they creek a lot and I'm afraid they might start an avalanche....
and I now realise that the small hills you see on ski slopes are formed around the bodies of 50yr olds who tried to learn snowboarding...

If all you absentees don't show up soon I'm going to need a note !!!

Making roll call...has the world come to an end and no ones told us 😏 be about right I'm always one of the last to know owt!!!

Oh!!! Maybe we rule the world now Carol...to be sure, we couldn't make a worse job of it than the last lot πŸ˜”
Well i will get myπŸ¦Έβ€β™€οΈsuper women outfit on n get cracking. Carol get yours on n il meet you to disscuss how we move forward with this new world order we need to install. πŸ˜ƒπŸ˜ƒ

WHERE ARE YA ALL ???

Notice on board outside cafΓ©:
If the food drink and service are below your standards...…...please lower your standards.

I'm particularly worried about Trysha and Chris....I know there's been bad weather in parts of Canada so I hope everyone's safe.
Also, there are to many absent friends to mention, but you're all missed. Come on peeps, cheer us up with a visit.

No you have not been abandoned Mandy and Carol...sorry its been so long but had to rest up from reading etc...
I have been struggling with the dizziness and faintness since before Christmas...took its toll but happy
to report it left abruplty just over a week ago.Hooray....
The very next day after it left I lost the sight in my right eye and then it was replaced by multiple gold lights like
Christmas tree decorations...
with a black square in the centre.
I went immediately to ER and was seen by three doctors...no delays ...and was then sent by taxi to their eye unit
where the ophthalmologist was to meet me at the front door........bit of delay before that all took place.
Sight returned in the meantime.....hospital paid for taxis...must have cost a bomb since the unit is about 5 miles...away
The specialist was very thorough ...the examination of both eyes very painful even with loads of local anesthetic.
She said she could see the described coloured lights in the vitreous part of my eye...and this could happen in later years to people....then said to report to my regular eye specialist in four weeks for checkup.. and to return to the hospital iff it recurred.
The taxi driver was a real comic relief....hilarious in fact.
When I first entered the cab and he was on the way he said.Ho...you have eye problem? Yes...I said.
He then said he was from Nazareth Egypt and that he had real problems six years ago so started taking
Two teaspoons daily extra virgin olive oil plus and he stressed this several times...to put one teaspoon of olive oil into the belly button daily....so there you have it...a surefire cure for all that ails you.......,!!!!!
Thought you would be specially impressed with this information Carol..!!!
So sorry to hearvabout your mum Mandy and hope for early resolution to her problems.
Take care of yourselves you two......and I do hope our former friends will pay us a visit on this page.

Happy and relieved to see you back Trysha but what a scarey time you've had (again) !!! You should write a book. You're right.I did enjoy your cab drivers recommendation.Who knew ? Will give it a try and get back to you.Just wondering though, will I have to remain lying on my back ? I mean it's going to trickle out if I stand eh ?
Mandy you're relieved of duties while you're Jaxon minding. No rest for the wicked sweetheart.

Aw Trysha girl, you do get it rough doll. What a trouper you are tho. Mmm olive oil working wonders eh!!πŸ’ž
Carol jaxon duties over, such a short visit on a weekend , especially when im at work on my weekend in. Miss the little monkeyπŸ’ being at mine 3-4days a week. He fell today whilst out with his dad n now supports a lovely bump on his forehead. Think he needs bubble wrapping hahaπŸ˜ƒπŸ˜ƒx
Love to all. πŸ’–

Hubby and I walked past a swanky new restaurant today and I said "Mmmm, can you smell that food,it smells delicious" ?
So being the kind hearted old fool that he is.....he walked me past again.

Been to see hubby's consultant today. He's very pleased at how things are and after one more c.t. scan he will only see Les every 6wks
for a year then every 2-3 months...….27 times altogether.Excellent treatment from the start. There are no words to express our gratitude to all the Oncology staff at the Ear,Nose and Throat dept. at Newcastle's Freeman Hospital.

Brilliant news Carol..so pleased to hear the news. Way to go Les, well done on battling through it all like a trooper . Well done Carol you have trooped right alongside him girl.
I also give thanks the all at Newcastle freeman hospital for all they have done for Les .
Carol i really am so pleased for you both. Love and hugs to you both. πŸ’žπŸ’•xx

Thankyou Mandy, but as you know so well we all do our best for our loved ones and we sometimes take a back seat with our own aches and pains...….Trysha's missing again and our darling Chris is a worry.

Hey hen i know it aint easy caring for a loved one, but doing so under the circumstances you have is even harder. Yes we do tend to avert from our own issues when caring for others. Try to make sure you get to recharge your batteries now hen xx

Yes the absent ones are concerning me....i do hope they are ok and just busy. πŸ’žπŸ’•

Brief scan but lots of catching up to do. Work, holidays, deaths, 2 year old grandson (❀️❀️) and a grand daughter in April. Ups and down of life keep me busy and the guts gurgling but as long as I’m on the right side of the grass life is good. πŸ˜‚πŸ˜‚

Hey Shanen glad to see you hun...ah so you have been very busy!!!.
Congrats on your grand daughter πŸ’•
Glad you are ok and hope you keep well. X

Same from me Shanen, nice to see you...just noticed our mate Chris. "liking" on the joke thread.Maybe he's having a "quiet" time for a while.
Trysha,worrying about you x

Ah at least Chris is lurking around...glad to hear it . Was really concerned by his absence here.
Trysha i hope you are ok, Carol and i worry when you and others are awol.
Though there is no pressure to post... we do fret a bit when we don't hear from you all.
Hope to find you all well,,
Come back soon ya hear!!!πŸ’•πŸ’žπŸ’–

Hello Carol and Mandy and Everyone
Sorry I could not let you know what happened but here I am turning up like a bad penny.
I lost the sight in my right eye and also had a serious bout of pneumonia and right lung inflammation
Just out of hospital and have to take loads of different drugs one of which is high dose Prednisone.
Diagnosis...1.TIA.......2, Pneumonia......3Giant Cell Arteritis.....
Loads of ongoing tests and supervision from three different specialties.I do have the sight back right now
I am home now at my request and they all agreed because i felt it was better from the standpoint of infection.
control.
They are trying to preserve the sight for as long as possible but longtime its blindness from the giant cell
unless there is some breakthrough.
I have had exceptional care and continue to do so.
I may have to return to inpatient status at some point. ...but will try to keep in touch with you all...my personal support system.......
So very glad to hear about Les ...always good to have excellent news.....keep it up.
Such a relief for you both Carol....and we can all use good news on this website.
Onward and upward....
Cheers!
Winning.......

Aw my darling Trysha..oh my days!! you have so much to battle with. Yet you do so stoically and with little complaint. Hats off to you girl. May you get a break on all this health issues stuff. 🀞
Love n hugs πŸ’•πŸ’ž

Thank you Mandy......we belong to the same school....Carol you and I.
I am very tired right now and a bit shocked at the diagnosis.
Amazingly I was watching. Doc Martin episode yesterday in which he was treating his aunt for giant cell arteritis....talk about timing.I had never heard of it before.
Hows your poor mum Mandy?
I had been thinking of her and Carols Les...that was good news.
Winning......

Ah,Trysha,I could weep for you and send you Mandy's sentiments.Do you tell your family when you're having all these problems ? I can understand if you don't, and you know we are here to listen to you and share your worries. I hope you have someone to bring you shopping etc.I know you'll take care of yourself, best you can. sending hugs x

Aye its the school of hard knocks hun. πŸ™„
My mums still the same. She may not have her back op now as the risks are great...may end up totally imobile πŸ˜”
My sister had a scan a week ish back...she has to have an op on her back too..its when now,coz she has to look after mum while im on holiday and she has my niece and the dog to do. Shes due to go away in aug n says she wont have enuf recovery time between my hols n hers. So its going to take some working out. Never rains but it pours eh!!

Love n hugs to all πŸ’•πŸ’ž

Thanks Carol and Mandy for the support.
I have let the family know since i disappeared of the radar so suddenly
They will be arranging to come to Canada but I told them things are settling down.....the medical treatment is
first rate and its now a matter of time.
I see they have a new drug in the Uk they are using with some success for giant cell arteritis.
Hope they will use it here.
So sorry about your mum and sister Mandy....hope things will greatly improve.
Are you sure the docs are not trying to save money by not operating?....all surgery has risks and sometimes its worth it.
They tried to do this to my sister with two holes in her heart...left her to suffer and get worse..
My Nephew her son went to see the chief doc who listened and did the surgery.
She made a goodrecovery and still going strong over a year later.
The chief surgeons colleagues castigated him for wasting money on a senior....not likely to make it.
He proved them all wrong and asked her to go where he gathered the group to see his success...
Maybe they will think twice next time.
We are the ones who helped build the health service and it should be there for us whatever age we have achieved.
Keep after them Mandy and weigh the score yourself.
You know your mum...
Winning.....

Cheers Trysha. I totally get what you are saying. So glad your sister had a good outcome.πŸ™‚
We will have to see what she wants to do, she is faced with either puttin up with the pain n not being able to walk more than a few steps or the chance of becoming( for the want if a better word ) a vegetable πŸ˜” if it doesnt go well....it may affect her mentally too n she may not be able to do a thing for herself i.e be unable to use the comode, dress herself etc...rock n a hard place really. At 77 n not in general good shape i can get why shes thinking of not bothering with op..we shall see whats said on 18th of march n go from there.
Hope you are on the mend my lovelyπŸ’–πŸ’ž

Love to you all....absentees too( tho i will need a note of absenteeism if you dont show up soon) πŸ™‚πŸ’•πŸ’–πŸ’ž

So sorry to hear that Mandy...
Seems some of us between a rock and a hard place
Hope it all changes for the good soon.
Feeling a bit better after a hair restyle today...
Still have too many symptoms.......they may increase the prednisone....hope not
Will see how the land lies tomorrow with the rheumatologist
Take care
Winning.....

Sorry you are still going through a rough time darlinπŸ’ž... aye between a rock and a hard place seems to be the status quo for a few of us...sadlyπŸ™
My work place is having a quiz nite...i was testing out 2 of the young lads today 1 of which is doing a uni course( something iv never done). Well!!! Knows bugger all about nowt πŸ˜ƒπŸ˜ƒ. I wasnt going to go but maybe i should, at least i know the capitals of Canada,Australia, Croatia, New Zealand etc😁😁😁 oh!! and iv heard of the Beatles πŸ˜‚. Maybe im being harsh and they will know things i dont πŸ€”.
Love to ya all πŸ’•πŸ’–

I know as much as you do Mandy...perhaps we should go together and give them a run
for the money...
Then again...maybe once we thought we knew it all at their ages..
Saw one of the specialists today....the MRI diagnosed the giant cell arteritis.....but he wants an
artery biopsy since its the gold standard....I have not consented to this...its very invasive ...and I dont see the need
He asked if I would at least see the plastic surgeon who would be the doctor doing the biopsy.....i agreed to see him
but will not consent to the procedure except for very dire circumstance.
Its a great life if we dont weaken....
Winning..........

Howdy Trysha...i have been tying myself in knots as usual πŸ™„. So busy n so tired😴😴. Thankfully im off now till next SaturdayπŸ™‚. Hope you are ok ?
πŸ’•πŸ’ž

Hi all who maybe lurking in the background..πŸ™‚πŸ’•

Mmm not sure i meet the criteria for being all right then....so i'l say I'm ok πŸ™‚πŸ™‚ ,)

Hope your are alright or at least like me ok ! Hugs πŸ’•

I am having difficulty wrapping my head around what you are both saying...
Mandy I can undestand you tiredness after a stressful working week...
I am also very tired and headachey from having too many decisions to make.
Carol we are all in the same cabbage patch.....
Winning....

Storm Dennis had passed us by and nothing much else to report, which is probably a good thing........everyone should have a few bad habits so that we will have something to give up if our health fails

Where i am storm dennis has been abit of an anticlimax tbh, not had much other than about half hr ago it was pretty windy n abit of hail, lasted 5mins . Reminds me of bosses....sweep in drop shit on you n sweep back out πŸ™„

Well thats good really....hopefully the storm will continue to abate
Its a lovely sunny day here cold but bracing
Nice for a walk.....
How very expressive you are Mandy...and so true about bosses at every level....
Winning...

Hey everybody , just a quick hello , hope everyone is doing ok or as ok as our "crappy" disease lets us , hope you are holding up Trysha , you really seem to be getting everything thrown at you at the moment , I'm doing ok apart from a dodgy gallbladder which I'm waiting to have removed but doing great otherwise , hugs and stay well everyone

Great to see you Tony.....a little more often would be nice though......catch you later.

Hi Carol.....feeling a little better today...still a bit weak on the pins...
Acupuncture helped .....reduces the headache intensity.
How are you and Les?
I envy the nice walks you can take.....and the bookstores you can visit...
This is a pivotal week for me with and arterial biopsy scheduled for Thursday.......hmmm........
Mandy you have to improve from fair to middling....when you succeed let me know your technique.
We had such a lovely sunny bitterly cold day today....snow is in the forecast again
Winning......

All's fair to middling here too.I have a plaque on the wall by the bathroom that says "Get up,survive, then go back to bed".....if we can manage that, then it's all we can ask for really. I mean it would be nice to be able to climb Kilimanjarro or visit Mountain Gorillas and Orang Utans But nowadays that's what the TVs for.I'm happy and grateful for what I have'
most of the time and I'm looking forward to getting my summer clothes out of storage. (soon)The birds are singing and the daffodils are almost flowering, what's not to love ?

Out walking on a lovely sunny cool day.......fresh breezes..
Mandy you are very optimistic about the 🌼 daffodils?...bit early yet...
Today feels better than yesterday....things are looking up.......headache is persistent..
Things are gettiing a bit slow around here...could it be winter drag effects....
Winning......

Hey Trysha, glad you feel a bit better. Hope the head ache subsides soon.
Its was Carol not I,re the daffodils...tho my recently planted black tulip bulbs are popping through the soil by a few inches πŸ™‚. Hope the threat of snow does not kill them off, if it turns up!!!
Looking forward to our holiday to Corfu in a few weeks✈ hoping to have some warm sunshine🌞 even tho its only April when we go..
Love to all πŸ’žπŸ’•

It's nice to have something to look forward to Mandy and it's sure to be a tad warmer than it is here. It's been a horrible morning ,weather wise with sleet, heavy rain and gusty wind at 2c.But the Canary Isles are being bombarded with sand blowing off the Sahara in 75mph winds. l think I'd rather have rain but I'm sure the poor folk who've been flooded out for a couple of weeks won't agree with me.

Sure is Carol...today here is 11c wet n grey but in corfu its 19c and sunny, tho it is due rain for a good few days in the next week there.
I have just been looking at the sandstorm on google news😯...the weather is so crazy πŸ€ͺsuch different things going on in the different countries..even tho they are not that far apart. It is an unpredictable phenomenon the weather. For all the forecasts says it rarely abides by the rules !!hahaπŸ™‚πŸ™‚

Hi folks! Thought I'd let you know that Sandy and I are doing fine. No issues with Crohn's, but my diabetes has been giving me a problem. Need to get the blood sugar lowered again. Doc did double my medicine. Hopefully I don't have to start insulin. Sandy and I have got out on our kayaks a week ago, in Southern Utah, where the reservoirs are not frozen over. Hope you are all doing well. Will try to post more often.

Another sojourn in ER....
Thought it was a heart attack but turned out to be a severe reaction to Prednisone
Did not know that happened.
Very tired now....but no place like home... depot
Nice to hear of springtime with lovely flowers in the offing
We are far from that with a raging snowstorm outside...looks to be the worst
of winter yet.
Snow is prettier than rain and beautifies wherever it falls...
Winning.....

Wouldn't you know it..... I post in LOW, say everything is alright with my Crohn's, then in the next 36 hours I have to beginning of a flare! Yesterday I was out shopping and had a emergency bathroom stop where I had a very bloody stool. I decided just to keep an eye on things at that point. This afternoon I am suffering the worst abdominal cramps I've had in years. They come and go, but when they come they are very very painful. I would rate them as 9 out of 10 on the scale. Deciding on whether to go to the ER tonight. Please pray for me.

Carol, I did not go to the ER. But I did contact my G.I. office and will have an appointment shortly. Reason I did not go to the ER? After several hours of abdominal cramps, I laid down on the couch and it suddenly went away! I told Sandy that now I feel like nothing happened! Weirdest flare of my life! I know my GI will want to examine me, and I don't want it to happen again, so I will be seeing him.

Hey Doug...im glad things have settled, but do go see your GI. Best these things are checked early on and hopefully stopped early on before they get a grip on us. Take care. Hugs n loves to you both. πŸ’žπŸ’•πŸ’–

Trysha hun..glad it wasnt the old ticker!!. Thats sounds an awful reaction to pred though....oh nasty!!!
Hope things go ok and for a change and give you a breather from all these knocks you get given hun. Take care, hugsπŸ’•πŸ’–πŸ’ž

Thanks Mandy
Sorry to hear you have some problems Doug and hope it all goes away soon for you..
Never give up and never give in is my motto....
Currently I am inundated with more tests ...cardiograms.echoes tons of blood tests....etc.and a referral to
Cardiology rapid response team....3weeks = rapid response??
Have had lots of attention though and they are very thorough..
Well as long as I am on the mend headed in the right direction...
Had a few crohns rumblings......just what I need.....not...next GI appointment in a couple of weeks.
Time to get better before then
Cheers! Everyone

Thought I'd better show myself.Don't know what's the matter but I don't seem to have a minute lately. When I do sit down I find myself staring into space, vacantly hahaha.Or as my dear old dad used to say "picking the fluff out of me belly button".....keep well my friends,it's almost summertime, for those of you who enjoy it..x

Things have settled from last weekend. I now have had a severe bought of constipation. This is new for me. I went 3 days without a BM. I already have an appointment with my G.I.'s Physician Assistant next Tuesday. On Tuesday I decided to skip taking my Loperamide, which is meant for controlling the diarrhea. Slowly since then the constipation has stopped. I had a bought of diarrhea this afternoon, so I am going back on that med tonight. I have not had constipation in my entire fight against Crohn's.

Your recent problem sounds like mine Doug.I've been trying for 14yrs to find a balance between urgency (Tenesmus) and constipation. It drives me crackers.I have an appt. next Friday so maybe they've found a miracle cure in the 6mnths since I was last there. We live in hope.

Hi allπŸ™‚
Iv been to doctors today re fungal nail issues. It was lovely n quite....was rung b4 my appointment and asked if i had any symptoms of the virus. I have not so was able to goπŸ™‚ .

Hope to find everyone well and keeping away from the virus as best you can. Big hugsπŸ’•πŸ’–πŸ’ž

My gosh people here are going crazy about the Coronavirus outbreak. I went to the store today and found extremely empty shelves. No essentials like bread and Toilet Paper. I went to both grocery stores in Kaysville, UT and there is NO Toilet Paper! We have a small supply here at home. Its ridiculous how people here are panicking. Speaking as a Crohnie I might panic if the stores can't keep toilet paper in stock.

Went to the G.I. yesterday. I have been prescribed Budesonide to help put down this flare. I also am scheduled for a EGD (Upper GI) next Friday. I could have a bleeding ulcer in my stomach. I hope not. The budesonide is a steroid and has greatly increased my blood sugar levels. My PCP is going to make a change to my diabetes medications next week.

I am having trouble understanding were these panic buyers are coming from!! If they buy all the supplies what happens when others can not buy the essentials they need....oh ye!! the problem becomes way worse. The virus spreads because those un able to buy stuff(can't hold of or unable financially to spend enough to stock up) then can't help prevent the spread,as all the stuff needed to do so is sat in someone's cupboards. Great help to the reduction of the virus im sureπŸ™„. Yes i understand the need for a few extra supplies but really cupboards full of stuff that most probably won't get used up is just dangerous to the rest of the population. Speaking as a crohnie (other illnesses inc)..we are at more risk than those who have stockpiled all the things we also need to keep well. "Hey thanks people for thinking of those less well to start with than you!!" So generous of you I'm sure!!
Well rant over...
Hope you are all doing your best to keep well.
Love n hugs πŸ’•πŸ’–πŸ’ž

Totally agree Mandy.I'm going for a normal shop on Monday.A friend queued for 45mins in Asda on Wednesday. There's no way I can stand that long so I will abandon the trolley gladly......How the situation regarding your forthcoming jollies Mandy ?

Hi Tony. Nice to see you. Hope you are well.
So far so good re holiday. No virus in Corfu or at least that i've managed to find out about so far. So fingers crossed.

Have been warned today that in approx.20days time us over 70s are to self isolate for 4mths whether or not we feel unwell.?????
Who's going to do the shopping, get scripts, walk dogs etc.? The logistics are mind blowing. As many of us don't have close family or younger friends I have to say I'm worried. We had to do a shop today and were warned at the door that waiting time at the tills was approx.40mins,
Lots of empty shelves and some of them for the silliest of things....Men's shaving foam ??? The world's gone mad.

TRYSHA,are you OK ?

Hi Carol.. its bloody crazy the isolation even if u dont feel unwell. I get that its to protect people but how hell are you all supposed to survive anyhow if u cant get help from anyone. ..are you supposed to starve to death instead. For 4 months is bloody ridculous n all. Ok theres online shoppin but even thats not really much use as 1..they aint got owt we need anyway coz greedy selfish people have stripped us bare of essentials n 2..not all old older folk are able to access or use the internet As u say not all are able to rely on family or even friends..to be fair what if they are in isolation also. Its not really practical or realistic. Think they(the powers that be) need to re think this on a more realistic level. Its crazyπŸ€ͺ

Hello all, wanted to drop in and wish you all a Happy St. Patrick's day. I hope that all feel better soon and that those that are feeling fine stay that way, knowing full well that some days are better than others. Take care all.

Hi Grumpy, good to see you.I think St. Patricks Day is on hold over here for the foreseeable.....A chap down south was mugged coming out of a shop with loo roll under is arm.Didn't take his phone or watch, just the loo roll..Also our local bke repair shop has a notice in the window saying "Get your bike serviced here and receive a free toilet roll ".....Sad but true......Keep safe friends x

Nice to see you grumpy.πŸ™‚
Omg Carol. Its getting outa control!!!!
Managed to purchase i pack if loo roll at aldi this morning, which i got for my mum. I need some too but will have to wait n hope i can get some soon 😯 xx

Hi Everyone....gotta make an effort...this giant cell arteritis is not for the fainthearted....very difficult
to contend with though......just coming up for air....have found acupuncture is the only thing to help a bit..
Seems the plunder of loo rolls is worldwide....who started all that??
The world is in chaos...who did this? And why?
There were 50 million deaths with Spanish flu.......but the current one though bad enough does not yet
approach that figure...what on earth is going on..who is manipulating the world??
Winning......
