you just never know what's going to happen next....hubby had a heart attack this morning !!! he's ok and has had an angioplasty
and should be back home in a day or two.We thought it was a side effect of the chemo / radiotherapy at first.Good job we didn't ignore it eh ?

Got him back late Tuesday with loads of meds etc.Cardiac nurse has been in today and is happy with his future care. We've had a couple of short walks but no cycling or driving or lifting for 4-6wks. I will have to put him in the cupboard while I go shopping with my trolley..

I did !!! spoke to IBD nurse today and my calprotectin level was 16000.She would like me to have a colonoscopy in a few weeks (gulp !!!)

Hope you're coping with work Mandy.the new lockdown must be a worry for you....will it never end ?

Oh my days girl...always a worry to worry about.. hope it goes well, as well as they can that is.
I'm doing ok with work, though its tiring, still I'm working n grateful for it, when many have lost their jobs. You two take care n behave if you can ?? ;)

Not looking good,Covidwise.Cases and deaths, although low,are rising daily. There's worry about the usual flu epidemic that arrives each winter and the backlog of postponed ops they're struggling to catch up with......But the shops are stocking up with Xmas crap....so that's alright then.

Carol, I think you need a fake snowman if the front yard. ;) My friend got bitten by a large terrier while trying to break up a dog fight. He has to have plastic surgery to make his fingers move again. It totally severed the tendons along the top of four fingers. He is pretty ticked that he can't work due to cancelled surgery because of covid. Random story but true.

It's instinct to try to stop a fight between animals, but not sensible as your friend found out.Best to let them sort it out themselves as they usually will....I could do with a real snowman in the yard Chris so I could go for a hug and cool off.
going for my flu jab soon.....

Please keep safe all...….things are not going to get better any time soon.Keep a wide berth of the unmasked and keep your distance from those who are singing or laughing....what the hell's to laugh about I don't know.....

Instead of going to the gym I've decided to work out at home.
It has two benefits...….One,I don't have to pay,and two, I don't have to do it.....

Halloooooo,is there anybody there ?????

I'm armed with a pellet pistol, glue traps and snap traps. I'm currently chasing down a rodent in the basement... And, I think he's a dirty rat... Here comes the rat patrol... Look out you, run for the nearest open door and go outside where you came from you little bugger!!

Treat your mask as you do your pants and knickers.
1...Do not touch or adjust ( especially in public)
2...make sure the fit is tight but comfortable
3...Do not borrow or lend
4...Make sure it's clean
5....If it's damp - change it
6...Don't go commando

Carol....Good to see you are on the ball with the latest advice consistent with the times we live in.
I was awoken early this morning with news delivered by the dermatologist....recent hand biopsy shows actinic kratosis
a pre cancerous condition....SO ..i hit the books and found that using castor oil on skin spots ....etc
can stop cancer in its tracks. I have a big bottle of it beside me.....
A good Covid distraction...
Its a lovely sunny cool October day....and quite windy out there.
Winning.".

Good to see you Trysha….Have you started writing that medical journal yet ? Bless you me darlin'.
I have a sigmoid. next week ( as it can't be done over the phone ) due to my flare returning after finishing steroids. Also a covid test and a blood test two days prior. All these apts. have been offered since my telephone chat with my IBD nurse 2hrs ago.!!!

Cant do the scope over the phone..?.Carol..you do surprise me...
I think this phone call biz could be a cop out....maybe allows more time for other pursuits.....
How did they cope pre covid with the unknown including infectious diseases
stalking surgeries and waiting rooms.....etc...
Part of medicine used to be the evaluation of a patient starting with a person sappearance when entering the room....how the patient told their story of illness progression etc...then the physical and final conclusions.
Then again I could have it all wrong?..
I like your list of shops Carol....but you left out the candy store.....we all need some sweetness in life...
Winning.......

Lovely day in lockdown...covid don't you know!.........whens it all going to end?
I am tip toeing out the side door to get some October air...cool...and sunshine before its locked up
for winter.
Its Thanksgiving Day here and I am pleased to say I managed a small dinner for the first time this year..no kidding.
I think it came about through the acupuncture yesterday..
They told us so many times covid would return in the Fall........now i feel a bit suspicious that they can forecast
an illness so accurately.....
Stay cool and focussed Everybody....
Winning

It's great to hear that you're up and about Trysha ,but don't overdo things.... I'm frazzled with sorting hubby's late prescritions (you wouldn't think he'd had a heart attack 4wks ago ) and my three hospital appointments this week. I like life to go smoothly with no aggravation....I know, don't we all ???

Hey guys , long time no post , Carol hope hubby is doing ok , Trysha great to see you back again and hoping your recovery continues ,Mandy and Chris good to see you still hanging in here
had a busy few months , and did a lot of travelling around Ireland masked up and flasks and sandwiches packed , kept to ourselves and really enjoyed it , hope everyone is doing as well as I am , (joint are my only bad problem and I'll take that) , here's a link to some of the photos I took , the memories should see me through the next few months

Carol hope tomorrow goes smoothly as possible hun ,fingers crossed for you.
Dont blame your being to chicken to say it on having a senior moment,, you know that's bo''ocks....hehe, I nearly said it but my finger missed the L's ;)😂

love motor bikes but the boss doesn't , end of story , too old to start again now , its hard enough to get into a car not to mind getting my leg over a big ol bike again , but I can still dream of a 70's era Triumph Bonneville with oil leaking all over everyone and everything , winning 🏍

Am I winning then 🙂
Howdy all...hope you are well. I'm just so tired at the mo. Its work home eat bed. Take care all xx

I don't have anything backed up Tony.I had to teach myself through trial and error how to use my LT. I can EMail and surf the web and insure the car etc. so that's all I need. I think I've sorted it (by mistake ) for now.

Hi again everybody. I'll tell you my latest health issue. Crohn's is still in remission. Entyvio has been wonderful for controlling the disease. Last April I had severe abdominal pain originating from the connection between the esophagus and the stomach. My GI did a EGD and found I have Barrett's Esophagus. Dysplasia has taken place, meaning it has advanced to a precancerous condition. I have undergone 3 additional EGD's where the doctor applies a treatment called Baryx. He literally burns off the precancerous cells. I had this treatment in May, July, and September. In December 2020 I will have another EGD. Hopefully he will not find any evidence of the precancerous condition reoccurring again. If he does find it again, he will do a fourth treatment. These treatments will continue until no evidence of precancerous cells is found. Then we will enter a maintenance phase. This has been stressful, but the odds of it advancing to full cancer are small.

Hello, Doug and Sandy! Nice to see you around... Carol, I hope you got the computer going right again. If you need any pointers with the laptop (assuming it's running windows) feel free to ask. I've had about an 85% chance of fixing them in the past. Winning!
Thanks Chris, that's good to know. When you're of a certain age and your young family live overseas, there's no one to help.I think it's sorted for now though.I'd tell you what it was but you'll think I'm thick hahaha.and yes it is Windows.

Hi all. Well I had a go at slicing my fingers off on the meat slicer at work...had moderate success, sliced the skin on the top of two fingers🙄..so now I am the proud owner of 2 sliced fingers, which are now steri stripped back together, and bandaged like bunny ears.. good job done there huh!!🙄🙄🙄

Oh Chris, I'm so sorry buddy, it's so heartbreaking when the rainbow bridge beckons. I reckon meika has led her best life with you, and had much fun n adventure and lots of love over the years. She will always be with you in your heart n memories. When the time comes to let her go over the bridge, be by her side giving her the love you always have. 💞💞💞

ah Chris thats awful , they give you everything and ask for so little in return , I went through the same about 3 years ago and the only comfort I can offer is that the pain gets less over time BUT the happy memories get stronger and put a smile on your face when ever you remember them , and letting go is sometimes one of the greatest and final acts of love you can give them , be well Chris and its not negativity its just part of the price of loving .

Ah babe,I feel your agony. It come around to soon. You feel that a naughty puppy is going to fill your life with love and laughter ,and it does, but their lives alas are much shorter than ours...saying goodbye is the last act of kindness you can do for your friend....most of us have been through your agony more than once. We're all here for you and sending hugs.....

22.885 new cases in last 24hrs (tested) and 367 deaths….
its getting scary out there again Carol , we were having over a thousand cases a day up to last week , since then its been dropping a bit but to be honest people need to cop on , until more people do the simple things like masking up and washing your hands its not going to ease up ,even when the restrictions were eased here , we went on day trips , brought an old fashioned picnic basket and kept well away from everyone , it wasn't that hard , anyway rant over ,,,,,,,,, for now

All of us on the forum need to take special care. Also my hubby had cancer treatment last year and had a heart attack 2mnths ago.We
are super careful, verging on paranoia. The closest we get to people is during the weekly shop, and I've noticed the supermarkets are less careful
than they were at the beginning of the pandemic...

paranoid is good Carol , we have a system for our shopping , go once a week if possible , only OH goes in with kn95 mast and face shield , we clean everything we buy with high alcohol based sanitizer and off home we go , working so far , can't be too paranoid .

I have been called paranoid for years. My parents have no understanding of it or why I'm that way. They ridicule me regularly. Ever had 14 ass surgeries, dad? ...That's what I thought! Maybe, just maybe, paranoia is why I'm still here on this earth... I believe it to be the case. I sanitize groceries as well and I get treated like an idiot. I wish they would stop half watching DR. Phil. Rant over.

Another lockdown begins o Thursday,12-01 am to be precise....Only essential shops will remain open, i.e. food and pharmacies..No pubs, cafes, hair salons, gyms etc. It's for 4wks, but who knows what difference it will make or for how long.

its seems to be making a difference here already Carol, our R number is down to one and our 7 day numbers are down on the previous week , another couple of weeks hopefully should make more progress , all people seem to be worried about here is having a "good Christmas " .

Same here Tony re: Xmas that is..... I was dreading the weekly shop today and almost didn't go.No queues when I went in but quite a few waiting when I came out. Some things were missing off the shelves despite assurances that there was no need for panic buying.....here comes me,me,me again.
