I'm back, for one second. We arrived a couple moments early for a movie at the theater. I sure like these new reclining seats.

Winning.

The movers picked up everything today. Huge relief! We only have our suitcases left to pack and we have 4 days in the north east US. Stealing the win [emoji16]

Phew! That’s better ...glad to hear from you Sandy,Madhu, and Ron
Happy landing in your new abode Madhu..
Sandy..enjoy the film....what’s it called....I’ve never heard of reclining seats....how do they work without sitting in the lap of the person behind you?
Good to see you Ron.....

I think it is getting worked out about my Entyvio. My doctor's office said they were going to expedite it.

Well, I'm definitely not winning. It's 2 AM and I'm in the hospital. I came down with some horrendous norovirus or rotavirus I think. Became super nauseous, started having liquid stools, and then barfed all over myself - all at my new job no less. I had to go to the ER for IV fluids, and they decided to keep me overnight for observation. So here I am, being observed. Fortunately, my hospital has plenty of IV bags. I had heard that some hospitals have a shortage because they're mainly made in Puerto Rico, and the factory has been shut down for months due to the hurricane. But my hospital has plenty, and I'm on bag 4. Can't sleep so I thought I'd pop in and update you guys. I am feeling better than I was - the barfing has thankfully stopped (I hate barfing so much!) but I still have that "pee out the butt" sort of liquid diarrhea. Have had a few sips of water and ice chips but no food yet. No appetite yet either.

I hope you guys are all doing much better than I am doing. This is one nasty virus. I started feeling nausea around 2 PM, puked on myself a little before 4 PM, and ended up in the ER at 8 PM. I'm hoping they send me home in the morning (well, 2 AM is technically morning, but you know what I mean - regular morning, not this super late night morning nonsense). I knew this was coming, too. There was a girl at work earlier who was barfing in the bathroom, and I was like, oh no, I really hope that's not contagious! Seems that it was and that I was already infected, because I started barfing not long after she did. On that note, the last meal I had was tuna salad with pickles, and I barfed up SO MANY PICKLES. I am never eating pickles again. I'm still burping tuna and pickles now. So gross.

Stay well and I hope you guys are all asleep! Hopefully I can get some sleep soon too but it's so difficult to do in the hospital...

Cat,I hope you get out this morning. You just never know what each day is going to bring eh.? .Norovirus has been making the rounds here since before Christmas.Hospital wards have been closed to visitors .Also Australian and Japanese flu has been rife.People have been told NOT to go into work if they're ill.At the local indoor market, there was a lady coughing like a 40 a day smoker,I felt like having a word with her,but I'd probably have got (ten?) a load of abuse back. Our hospitals are under tremendous strain trying to cope with the extra winter ailments. Many OPS.are being postponed unless very urgent.
I know it's difficult as you're a newbie at work,but don't go back until you're sure you're well.

:ghug:

If those seats are reclining Sandy, what are the chances of you staying awake ?;)

Cat, I hope you feel better soon. Sounds like stomach flu? It's making the rounds for sure. My cousin's whole family got it. It's so contagious it spread between them in 30 mins. Sending positive vibes your way xx

I am sorry, Cat. I hope you feel better real soon.

Madhu, yeah, stomach flu isn't really a flu, but when people say stomach flu they mean viruses like norovirus and rotavirus. That's probably what I've got. Still in the hospital but it's only 6:30 AM now. They asked me to sip some water and I'm trying, but that's making my guts cramp. Bleh. No word yet on when I can go home - the doctor last night made it sound like I'd have to be both eating & drinking again before they'd spring me. Eating is still not happening right now. I feel less barfy but I have zero appetite.

Carol, I called in sick to work just now, and was told that I'm not the only person from the training class who has called out sick - sounds like there are a few others besides me who came down with this bug too. Hopefully nobody else ended up hospitalized because of it like I did. I managed to get a few (4ish) hours sleep, so that's good at least.

Hope your hubby doesn't catch it from you Cat.Could you maybe eat some toast and honey just to get something inside you ?......Feel better soon.

Carol, the nurse brought me some saltines crackers to try (I'm still in the hospital). I haven't tried those yet but drinking water is getting easier. I might try one bite of cracker fairly soon.

Hah, here's something funny. My cat is fairly quirky, as I'm sure most cats are. One of her quirks is that she likes it if someone watches her eat her food - sometimes she just won't eat if nobody watches her and compliments her. So usually when we feed her in the morning, I watch her and encourage her and tell her she's pretty. But I'm not home this morning, hubby is home because he has to care for Lily and give her her pills. So, hubby texted me and he was like, "Your cat wants me to watch her eat!" I responded, "Yes, and make sure you tell her that she has pretty fur too." ;)

Oh, and as for hubby, he almost never gets sick. He's got a fantastic immune system, and if he does catch something, it's usually over with much more quickly than it would be for me. Like, if we both get colds, he'll be better the next day or 2 days tops if it's a really bad cold. Meanwhile I'll be sick for a week or two. So if he does catch this, he'll probably feel slight nausea and then be fine.

I just ate two tiny bites of saltine! So far so good. I'm going to take it verrrry sloooowly though. Drinking water is also going better. It was giving me massive cramps this morning to drink water, but fortunately those cramps seem to have subsided now.

Glad you are feeling better, these viruses hit those of us with Crohn's harder than most. A cat is like good medicine, the presence of my big orange cat brings my blood pressure down a few points and I don't notice my pains as much. Nothing like the company of a good pet.

That virus certainly hit hard Cat...
Good to see you are able to drink a little water
Don’t be in too much rush to get home...give yourself time to heal a little.
Get well soon

Last Sunday I was up all night with joint pain...right foot big toe and surrounding area.
Monday was a regular appointment with the physiotherapist.who is also qualified acupuncturist
I was in a lot of pain ....gout attack due to medication for other reasons....
He put in two acupuncture needles pain dramatically stopped within a minute or two.
Very strikingly effective.No pain since.
Not covered by healthcare who will pay for drugs for the condition thus opening another pathway for reactions!
No extra charge for this since I already get acupuncture for other reasons.
Three days later he repeated the acupuncture and treated the other foot which was rumbling......same positive effects....no more pain in my feet....
I am now drinking some sour cherry juice as a preventive measure....
Lovely cool sunny day today....good for a refreshing brisk walk....with my new feet...
If you don’t use it ..you lose it...
Winning....

.

Cat, so sorry you're dealing with that! It's amazing how many bugs are going around everywhere. Trysha, sorry you've been dealing with gout, but happy you're finding ways to get acupuncture paid for to treat it, and that it's helping. That is wonderful. Madhu, I'm exhausted just thinking of moving. I'm glad the big things are packed up and movers are on the way. I hope you're holding up ok because I know things are different than you expected to be as you move. Big hugs.
Ron, I'm glad your Entyvio is getting sorted out. Hope you quit having one problem after another, that can get so stressful.
Bufford and Chris, Tony, Carol, Kirsty, Mandy and all others I've not mentioned here, I hope you're all doing ok. We do have a good group of people here.
The movie we went to see was "The Post," dealing with the first female publisher of a major American newspaper publication (Washington Post) and the choices the publisher had to make about exposing some Vietnam war issues. I would have liked it better if those reclining chairs didn't hurt my back and some other issues going on at the time. (The recliners don't recline very much, but the feet do go up.) Below is a pic of the type of chairs the theater has, including the little trays and cup holders, which I like to place any objects on, like my cell phone to make a little post on LOW before I had to turn it off before the movie started. 😉
Hugs to all of you.

Not sure about those seats Sandy....look a bit like university lecture halls...
Regarding the acupuncture...I was already paying out of my own pocket for a different course of acupuncture treatment and so no extra charge was made.
The government funded healthcare does not cover outpatient Physiotherapy or acupuncture costs.
So did you enjoy the 🎥 movie...
It’s a cold sunny day here...I like Saturdays because no appointments are ever made then
Cat....hope you are beginning to feel better and are out of the hospital...
Good weekend to Everyone...
Winning.....

Trysha, I get acupuncture once a week. Hope you are better, Cat. Hope everyone is well.

So apt Carol.....
Did you make this up?......well done

Jammer and I just chilling.

The house opposite us nearly caught fire yesterday when the power pole blew its ceramic fuses, arced and started a fire. Fire brigades came and put it out. They just lost the row of flax bushes.

Steve’s car was parked by the letterboxes, he moved it in a hurry which was just as well.

You're looking good K. as does Jammer...Is that because you spent Christmas in the UK or because you're happy to be home ?......I hope your niece is on the mend after that awful accident.

Wow kirsty that was close.. glad no one was injured. Aw look at you and jammer what a pair of cuties you are ☺. Hugs to you both 💞

Blimey Sandy thems posh seats...last time i was at a cinema we were sat on crates 😁
Ok maybe not crates but not far off from crates compared to those ☺. 💕💝

Sandy , I have thought I might want to see that movie. I have to call my doctor tomorrow. There is some issue about getting a nurse to administer the infusion of Entyvio. Hope everyone is well. Winning.😎

Hello to all. :)

Jammer just looks so chill Kirsty, I hope you feel relaxed now too. It's good to hear the damage was minimal from the fire.

Good luck Ron, I hope you find a nurse to administer your medicine.

Mandy you are a good one! ;) I hope everyone is feeling okay...

Sandy? How are you managing?

(Trysha, I hope your feet still feel good):)

Hi to Cat too, I'm thinking of you bud. 🍀 Winning...

Thanks Chris. I'm doing somewhat better but still don't have much appetite and am still pretty weak. It's been just over 3 days now so I hopefully am no longer contagious, so today I bleached and washed everything I could. Phew! I'm tired now. I did about 8 loads of laundry - all the bedding, towels, the pajamas I wore in the hospital, the bath mats, pillows, etc. And everything that I could bleach, I bleached, because bleach is the only thing that for sure kills norovirus. So I'm tired and I smell like bleach now. But that's still better than barfing.

It’s good to hear you are home Cat but don’t be doing too much....although I know it’s important to keep up with thewash and eliminate any infectious bugs including hospital ones.
You will be weak so take it easy...lots of fluids...
Thank you for asking Chris...no more pain since the acupuncture sessions.
The physio is well qualified in both Physiotherapy and acupuncture ....is a professor and teaches both as well as having a practice.
He has my trust...and has helped me recover from complicated knee surgery.
Hope things are better for you now....are you really going to acquire a dog.?
I certainly miss mine very much.
Kirsty...it’s so good to see you back...and looking so well...Jammer is enjoying his life by the look of things.
Mandy you remind me of the awful theatre seats in England...no sleep with those when films were dull.I remember talking to a retired usherettte who said that they used to increase the heat so people would buy drinks and ice cream during the interval.....
Winning.....

Trysha i dont know about increasing the heat..they only increased back ache for me 😕

Cat now your de bugged REST UP 💕

Thanks, Sandy. Moving certainly is exhausting. We saw The Post this weekend too, and I almost fell asleep on the recliners [emoji16] good movie though! Leaving the Northeast US tomorrow morning as we migrate to the south where we can finally get some sun. Hoping to make our last day here memorable. Apartment cleaning - oh joy! [emoji23]

Hope you are all doing well [emoji173]

Hi guys, how have all of you been?

Never thought I'll be back here during the school term, especially not when I've got a ton of homework that I've yet to complete. I'm taking a national examination at the end of the year which will determine what university course I can apply for, so that adds to the stress as well.

Well, I guess I can only say the main reason why I'm here is because I lost it today. I feel that there have been so many factors that lead up to this. I'm not sure how in depth this post will be; I just feel like nobody understands what I'm facing right now. And no, my MTX jabs aren't until this Thursday.

So firstly, I'm having 4 large ulcers in my mouth at the moment, and that has made eating and drinking really difficult for me. I don't think I'm in an active flare at the moment, but I'm not too sure about that anymore.

Two weeks ago I began to have watery diarrhoea again, some tummy discomfort and bloatedness but it isn't serious enough to be described as a stomachache. That cleared up a few days ago.

I visited the GI doc for a checkup last week, and all he says is that my condition is stable, and that there's nothing to worry about. He tells me, as always, that it'll only get better in the months to come. Yet, I see some of my bloodwork highlighted in red on his computer screen.

The last couple of months of MTX have been really trying for me. I asked the GI doc time and again whether I can extend the frequency of the jabs to once a fortnight. He says no, because MTX reaches its maximum efficacy at once a week, and then drops thereafter. Furthermore, why change something that has been working well for me?

I went on to ask whether I could take MTX tablets as a substitute but he tells me no, because according to his experience, it isn't as effective as compared to the injectable form for people with Crohn's. So it looks like I'm stuck with MTX jabs.

I'm prescribed ondansetron for the nausea after MTX, but the cardiologist that I'm seeing has increased my dose of atenolol to 3 times a day so as to better control my SVT. I feel sick when I take MTX, and even sicker when I add atenolol and ondansetron to the mix, even though MTX with atenolol and MTX with ondansetron seems to be manageable. I've been told specifically not to take folic acid on the day when I get my MTX jabs, and it gets so bad to the point whereby I sit on the bed for hours on end trying to get some sleep, because lying down would make me want to throw up, and there's school to deal with the next day.

I've told my GI doc about this, and all he says is that the patients that he has prescribed MTX to have not reported of such bad nausea that requires ondansetron, and so he suspects that it might be all in my head. If it's making me feel sick though, then I should just not take it. So now I'm having trouble making it through Thursday nights because of the nausea, and dreading Friday because I'm too tired to concentrate during lessons.

Money has always been a sensitive issue for my family, and it doesn't help when my dad passes comments like I should keep telling myself that I will get better, and eventually I might be able to come off all medication completely.

I asked my GI doc whether will it come a point in time where something like this might happen, and he says no, because if I go off medication, the Crohn's will not only not subside, but there's a high chance if it flaring again.

I've tried to explain this to my dad, but he just doesn't get it.

Today, my dad told me over dinner that a friend of his went for some detox thingy and it completely cured his cancer and that I should do the same. I got mad at him and he in turn scolds me that I'm weak and brings out the mind-over-matter argument again.

So here I am, at my study table, feeling hungry but not being able to eat anything because of the f*****g ulcers. I'm just wondering why I even bother to put up a false smile and tell the cardiologist that I'm doing fine when he asks me how I'm coping with the Crohn's when I see him every 6 months.

Oh god, I hate being sick. And to think that things will only get worse this coming Thursday.

Sorry for what you are going through, CYY. Your doctor and your dad need to realize that not everyone is the same. Hope you feel better soon.

Oh cyy the nightmare of people who just dont get it!!!😡😡
Maybe they should try the detox thingy n see if it cures their ignorance . Hang in there hunni.
Big hugs n loves 💞💞

Hey,

I'm sorry to hear about this CYY. My parents don't seem to get it either when it comes to being constantly teetering on the edge of health issues. Try not to stress about your dad if you can though, he probably honestly just doesn't get it. I know that's harder to do than for me to just say it though. The doctor is another matter, something is making you feel sick, so I think he should at least treat the symptoms. Head, stomach, whatever he thinks is causing it, I wonder why no help with nausea?

Keep in touch.

CYY.....sorry to hear you are not so well and it’s too bad some parents seem to lack support.
With my dad we just were not allowed to be ill...no sympathy.
It is very hard on you when you are suffering so much.....nothing worse than continual nausea and pain.
What is wrong with your GI that he does not see beyond the end of his nose and give you more help and support.
You have come through so much in your young life and you will get through this..you are strong.
Maybe it’s worrying about you that makes your dad appear to misunderstand your suffering.
Hope you will soon be a little better...you have lots of support from your friends on LOW.

CYY,sending hugs your way.You sound at the end of your rope. You do so well trying to catch up with your studies and life in general.I don't envy you the mouth ulcers especially when you're hungry.Could you try some ice cream or a frozen lolly ? it won't fill you up but might cheer you up.....Feel better soon x

Thanks for the incredibly fast responses guys, they were the highlight of my day :)

Today hasn't been going too well for me because, well, I bit one of my ulcers while chewing on a slice of white bread this afternoon. Yes, white bread. Those that come in a loaf cut up into slices. One of the softest foods there is. One moment I was pinching a small piece of bread, rolling it into a tiny ball and stuffing it to the back of my mouth, the next moment I was sucking blood from one of the ulcers to stop the bleeding. Now it seems that the original ulcer has split into two halves and are each developing on their own. Which means I have 5 ulcers in my mouth now. Nice -_-

Still feeling hungry but finding it hard to eat. Missed breakfast today, lunch was supposed to be white bread (well, that went well), and dinner was half a can of chicken soup that I sipped from a straw. I've tried ice cubes and a peppermint flavoured breath-freshener, but they weren't particularly helpful. I'll give ice lollies a shot if I can get my hands on one.

My dad wasn't particularly interested in talking to me today, and honestly I'm just glad that he kept whatever comments he had to himself when he saw me sipping soup from a bowl through a straw. I'll try to break the ice with him tomorrow night.

As for the GI doc, I don't see him for another 6 weeks, so I have 6 weeks to come up with a lost of stuff to tell/ask him. I don't see the cardiologist for another 5 months too, so I'm going to have to stick to the current dose of atenolol until I see him again. Honestly, if this turns out to be some unfavourable drug interaction between ondansetron, atenolol and MTX, I think it'll say a lot about the communication between the GI and the cardio departments.

For now, my main concern is how to live with the ulcers and get through Thursday's MTX.

Sorry about the ulcers, CYY.

When my grannie reached sixty, she began walking five miles a day,on her doctors advice......she's ninety seven next week, and I don't have a clue where to send her card.

Hi CYY....sorry to hear you are still suffering the mouth ulcers.
When I had an ulcerated mouth my dentist suggested a mouthwash made with baking soda
(bicarbonate of soda). one of many uses for this..he instructed me to
Dissolve a teaspoon of baking soda in about quarter of a glass of water and swish it around
Several times a day.....it may be a little sore doing this but it does make it better
It did not bother me to do this and I soon started to feel better. It takes a few days
The other thing you can do is put some honey on the ulcers you can do this with a swab
or the back of a spoon....honey has antiseptic properties and can be a good healer.
It may help you....worth a try and since it food items should not hurt to try .
Are you able to talk to your family doctor about all this happening to you..?………
Feel better soon
Ron ...that’s too bad you are flaring how it’s resolved soon...perhaps it’s because you did not get the Meds on time.
Cat...hope you are continuing to feel better

Trysha, I am continuing to feel better. Today's the first day in nearly a week that I've actually had something of an appetite. I still can't eat much - a snack sized amount of food fills me up, and I don't want to push my stomach at all right now. But it's nice to want to eat again and to actually feel hunger again. Makes me feel much more human.

Mandy, no rest for the wicked, and I must be pretty wicked. I only took one day off of work - I got sick last week Thurs afternoon, so I was in the hospital Thursday night and part of Friday and was obviously off sick from work on Friday. I rested over the weekend but had to go back to work on Monday. Can't miss any more work right now as I've just started my new job.

CYY, I definitely feel for you. You sound very frustrated and it also sounds like you aren't getting much support from your family. I hope you have somebody in your life - other family member, teacher, doctor, friend? - who is supportive and who you can talk to and vent to. We're always here for you, but support in real life is so important too. Are there any support groups in Singapore, maybe through your local hospital? I really think you need somebody to talk to. You're at an age which is stressful to begin with, with school and navigating social situations and becoming an adult, and that's a lot by itself. When you add in a chronic illness to the mix, it must be unbearable at times. It's okay to feel like that - but it's also not okay to give up. So keep going, even though it's hard. And please reach out to us on here anytime, we're always here to listen and support you. Sending hugs!

CYY. So sorry to hear about your current health. I am also sorry about how your father treats you. Some people just don't get it.

Yesterday we went to a new (for us) cycle track. It's a disused rail line,so quite long. We were peddling along quite nicely.me at the back, when I saw a huge over spill across the track from a flooded field.I thought the pathfinder would stop and turn around,or at least discuss the possibilities, but he didn't.The "puddle" was about 8ins+ deep (at the sides) and about 60 yards long.It was difficult to peddle in the freezing, muddy water and as I couldn't see the bottom, couldn't see pot holes or submerged tree parts.Long story short,we peddled on with very cold wet feet and came to a dead end.Yes,you guessed it.We had to go back the same way !!! I've been saying this for years, but I will never again follow my husband, unquestionably.:ybatty: This is only the latest in many years of disasters. It's a good job I've got a sense of humour.......:rof:

Hey cyy it's good to see you back. I wish it was under better circumstances. Sending you lots of healing thoughts xx

Ron, sorry to hear you're flaring. It's the absolute worst. I hope they are able to quickly control it.

Hope everyone else is in good shape. We moved in to our new apartment yesterday and it feels like we are on vacation somewhere. It's cold and dingy and doesn't have a very homey feel. I do realize that it's up to us to make it feel like our home. Hubby had to start his new job today so his insurance would kick in tomorrow. Poor thing didn't get a break at all. Darn all these health issues. Oh well, getting back to setting up the apartment now xx

Carol that was quite an outing with a difference and fortunate that you did not fall in to a complete mud bath...which though recommended for the skin is inadvisable at this time of year.....your feet will be beautiful though..
It’s lovely that you can go for bike rides...I used to ride many miles with my lovely bike when I lived in England..it’s what we had to do..no money for bus fares..
I would also cycle into the country areas and picnic in surrounding beauty spots in Hertfordshire.
Madhu it’s good to see you are now moved in....new places can be cold looking until filled with beautiful people and treasured possessions.
It is also a very tiring experience and you must take time for some rest.
Soon you will have designed your cold space into a warm and glowing comfortable place
that you will be proud to show off...and that will reflect your persona..
It must have been hard for your husband to start work right away but it is one of life’s trying experiences that some of us must endure.
Best wishes for the happiest outcome.
Ron...hope you are feeling better today.
So...we are now blessed with loads of snow once more ...sparkling and beautifying the landscapes......as well as creating slip sliding pathways for daily walking etc.
The sun is shining and it’s 15 below.....mustn’t lose my gloves again and what’s worse I saw the missing pair frozen in the snow ..there was no retrieving them...had to buy another pair
immediately or get frost bite...
Thems the breaks...
Cheers Everybody!
Winning.........

CYY, I was just wondering how you were doing, I too am sorry you are going thru so much. It is doubly or triply hard when the family members and physicians don't understand. The family life I grew up in, at least as far as my fatherwas concerned, was much like yours Trysha, we also weren't "allowed" to be sick, absolutely no empathy was offered. The ironic thing is that my dad ended up with an IBD for several years before he passed away, but was so private about it none of our immediate family members knew if it was Crohn's or UC (but he had also alienated most of us, still, even the sweet lady he married after my parents divorced and he was married to for several years before his death didn't know which IBD.) Ron, sorry you are going thru a lot too, I don't envy moving Madhu, I hope you have recovered from your bike ride/mud bath Carol. Trysha, I think your area has taken all our snow this year, we've really only had two snow storms of any note, record high temperatures several times lately, and I fear we will have severe water rationing this summer for our gardens and yards as the snow pack in the mountains is abysmal. On the bright side for the outdoor enthusiasts and those so inclined around here, one can golf in the valleys and ski at the resorts just a few miles away (but higher altitude) all in the same day.

It is stressing my wife out that they haven't worked things out concerning a nurse to come to my house.

That is just terrible for you Ron and totally unacceptable
Have you let your doctor know of the delay in your therapy?
Hope you get action soon.

Yes, Trysha. I am asking if maybe they can do it at the hospital.

That would stress me out too Ron. I relentlessly nagged the infusion centre for an appointment so hubby can get an infusion before we left. It scares the heck out of me what would happen if he didn't get the medicine. I hope they do something for you soon

Ron how awful for you to be kept waiting. Nag them till they cave in and get you sorted. Big hugs.

Love and best wishes to all.

Keep smiling...even if it makes you look insane lol..

Sometimes it’s hard to keep smiling....
Today after an appointment with my GP I went to the nearby Mall to try and relax a bit.
After buying a couple of items I’d had enough and decided to go home.
The exit doors were crowded and I had to wait a minute...no more and suddenly I felt a hand in my pocket.
I grabbed the hand and made sure it was empty and I yellled at the woman asking just what she was doing...she beat a hasty exit through the door...I went back inside the Mall
in case there were accomplices outside......I was a bit afraid.
In the long run I made it home safely.
I think these thieves are targeting senior individuals especially where someone has a walker.
Quite sickening..I still feel upset.
The medical news was upsetting in that a small tumour like protrusion was noted on the
Left kidney......means more procedures...nephrology etc plus some GI issues needing further evaluation.....hopefully it’s a storm in a teacup...
Now I wait to recover my aplomb etc.
On top of all that we are getting more snow and much colder weather.....that’s the frozen north for you...
Winning.......

Oh Trysha, how scary! I'm glad you're safe. These people are sick to be targeting elderly people.

I wish you could just get a rest on the health front. But the medical advancements are so good, I'm glad they are able to help you on time. Take a lot of rest and feel better soon xx

Trysha, glad you are ok

I hope that crook gets caught soon if they keep it up. That's a terrible thing for someone to do, it must have been someone mixed up with hard drugs or some other crazy habit. I'm sure glad you are okay Trysha.

Oh Trysha, dear! You have had quite the day! I'm glad you were able to verify the empty hand of the would-be pick pocketer and wish someone would have seen, apprehended and arrested her on the spot. I also hope your kidney scare is nothing more than a tempest in a teacup. The unknown is sometimes the hardest... Ron, I will also pray that the home health care nurse suddenly materializes at your convenience, or wherever would give the best results for you. I also hope the rest of you are doing as well as you can. I saw my new neurologist today at the UofU (I was referred to him by Dr. Ryan the new to me cardiologist), and tho I liked him, I like Dr. Ryan better. Still, I feel like Dr. Nicholson will be a good doctor to follow my neurologic needs. The good thing is, all is stable in that regard at present. Even still, he is requesting my latest head MRI scans from my last neurologist to compare them with some some when I had a two week stay at the UofU hospital epilepsy unit a few years ago (something I never want too repeat), just to make sure there are no major changes. Who knows, maybe they'll find I have no brain left, lol. (You know, of all the things I miss, I miss my mind the most   )

Oh Trysha my darling...how can people do these things😠. Im so glad that she didnt get your purse. Praying the kidney issue is only a minor one. 💞

Sandy hoping all goes well for you too hunnie. 💝

Wishing all better health and peace of mind. Lord knows you deserve it....
💞💕💝:ghug:

Trysha, the bad guys seem to hone in on you, as I know that isn't the first time you've had a nasty encounter. You must have had an awful fright..Your heart must be strong at least,so that's good.So sorry to hear about your "new" health problem.I know I often say this, but talk about kicking a person when they're down !!!

The council are considering micro-chipping our bins to see how much rubbish we're throwing away....whatever next ?. Are they going to put a chip in the toilets to see if we're eating organic food ?

Thanks, Sandy. Hope everyone is well.

Trysha, glad you caught the perpetrator red handed, hopefully your actions discouraged him from picking the pockets of others. Its become a mean, angry world, not the one I remember when I was younger. Honesty has gone out the window, whether its thieves or politicians, or is there any difference between the two anymore? Both anger me and scare me.
When I go shopping there are a lot of panhandlers working the parking lots when they are not busy holding up corner stores for cigarettes and cash. Poverty levels are rising up as fast as the taxes are. I am always glad to return to the peace and quiet of our rural community after doing the grocery and supply run.

I miss the city about three times a year, usually when I have to order something from far away because it isn't available locally. That's about it. I hope all goes well for everybody today. Happy Friday folks. :) ☮️

:eek2::eek2::eek2::eek2:I just lost half of Friday, slept until noon. :eek2::eek2::eek2::eek2:

I wish, he just wants to tell us how to run our household and watch tv ALL DAY LONG (unless we go somewhere, then he wants to come with us.)

(We're getting him hooked up with the state rehab office to help get him a part time job and job coach to begin with, in a recent interview when they asked what he likes to do at home he said he likes to stay busy ) :rof: :rof: :rof:

You have to admit Sandy that watching tv is very time consuming !! :rof: maybe its the channel changing that keeps him busy??😃

I wish he'd keep busy. He is very entitled in his attitude. I can't wait until he has to start going to work.

Thanks Everyone once again for your kind and helpful support.
I believe people with walkers are prime targets for thieves and ne’er do wells....and it is only since using a walker that I have been robbed on several occasions...which have coincided with being released fro hospital stays....talk about being too trusting....
Not any more though.
These days I am very much more alert when shopping and also far more mobile than it looks ....
I am capable of fast walking and even running since all the physio and acupuncture and feel quite strong.
Not that my physio or other medical advisors would approve though...
It is my avowed intention to leave this walker behind in the not so distant future.
Meanwhile I am very grateful for the outpouring of support from everyone on LOW....you are all my friends and family. and it is so helpful having you all to turn to.
Sandy and Doug..wishing you well on the family scene....you have the patience of Job..
Mandy...you are hilarious....
Madhu hope things are settling down for you...it does take time to settle in new places...at least you have no snow to shovel......or make snowmen...
Carol you are correct...I have been robbed on several occasions the upshot being that I do not answer the door ,friends always call me before arrival...I carry very little money on me when shopping...I use the credit card more frequently now...never used to use it .safer
I don’t carry a purse but have secure inside pockets.Hard to know what else to do..
not keen on carrying a gun or spray....sure it would backfire on me...
Ron ..I hope by now you have received your Meds and that a secure system will guarantee
timely treatments for the future.
Winning......

What do you call a computer that sings ? A Dell.
Only 1c today but fine.Weather reports say our coldest week of the year is on the way,so going to give little blackie a run.I hope all the bits have dried since our little adventure up the Orinoko last Monday.Have a good day all.I hope you managed some sleep Mandy.Have you tried magnesium oil ? Trysha, you're doing everything right but maybe a hat pin in you lapel would be useful

Carol got about 4hrs in sleep wise. Had to be up for jaxons football coaching/play thing he has each sunday. Early night tonite in hope off catching up a few hours. No iv not tried it hun. Maybe worth a shot tho. Thanks for the heads up on that.♡ Hope you enjoy the ride and you stay safe n dry!!

Me too Carol....
Could not get to the gym today with all the snow....Bother..

Got all my cycling gear together, filled the old mans thermos with coffee, chose a satsuma from the fruit bowl and.........we got snow.So put every thing away and cleaned the oven.
Have been reading and gazing out of the window this afternoon. That's the trouble with being organised and efficient.I'm constantly doing stuff just in case I have a bad day.I mean,if I'm not well, I prefer to feel sorry for myself rather than worry about housework and shopping etc. So I sometimes get "bored",especially on bad weather days.
But today's almost over and tomorrow is another day Toto.

I can hear many of you muttering "I wish that was the only thing I had to worry about, you old whinger"........hahaha :ybatty::ybatty::ybatty:

Boredom sets in for me when the blackflies come out. They are so thick that they can and will drive a person insane. So once the snow melts, the skis are put away, the chainsaw comes out and I make like a beaver on the woodpile. Then once the bugs come out I sit around the computer a lot. We are only human and a little bit of boredom once in awhile is okay and perfectly normal.
-22 and sunny. More 'left n right' this afternoon. When one's got it, one has to embrace it while it lasts, cause nothing lasts for long.
