Lepicol does not seem to be helping?

Hi All,

New here, so please go gentle on me :)

I have always suffered with bowel related issues. I have had 2 colonoscopies, and the last one about 5 years ago, the consultant concluded I had mild inflammation. I should have got a bit more info as I never really understood what the significance of this was.

Anyhow, the reason I wanted to post today is to to see whether anyone might be able to offer some guidance as to what my problem might be. I have always had a sluggish bowel, and although I go daily I spend 20 minutes in the bathroom. It's not that I am constipated it just seems by bowel does not work very well.

I recently started suffering with the most terrible flatulence. Wind is fine, but it is the poisoning odour that is the issue. In the past, I found taking Lepicol for 2 weeks would get everything back in order, but these days the lepicol does nothing and I think it might actually make the problem worse. Still have the terrible wind, if not worse and I end up going to the bathroom 2-3 days / day and my stools seem to contain undigested food and are not well formed.

I was wondering whether I could have some bacterial infection which is causing the awful odour and sluggish bowel problems?

I have a Doctors appointment to discuss on Monday, but am hoping that someone on here might be able to either provide some guidance, or questions / tests that I should be asking my Doctor. I never find them to very good, and when I have been in the past I just get told "You have IBS, have you considered taking a probiotic"

All of which might be the perfect diagnosis, but I get the feeling it is not.

I also find that when my bowels are not working, I feel like I am being poisoned. I have blocked sinuses, catarrh and that awful foggy head feeling. As I get older I think these symptoms are linked to the state of my digestive system.

Any pointers would be welcomed.

Thanks
