I haven't spoken with the doctor yet my apt is next Thurs but I have so many questions and concerns

yesterday I had abdo and pelvic CT scan. They found narrowing in the small intestine. Which is new lol.

but they also found a lung nodule. They said not to worry but of course I am a little concerned. I dont yet have any info on the size or location the nurse just wanted to update me as much as she could.

is this common with crohns?
I'm worried to bring up any more of the symptoms I'm having incase they wana test me for more stuff lol this crohns is more than enough for me to handle but I'm also having tingles/numbness in my hands n feet my bloods looked normal so I an reluctant to ask any questions lol

its funny ive been waiting all sumner for someone to say "alright you're not well/having a flare" its like a relief to be allowed to fall apart and sleep all day lol.

If anyone has any experiences with lung nodules would love to kniw what questions etc I should be asking.

I don't have any knowledge of that but you should not hesitate to ask questions. You have the right to know about your health.

I am also facing tingling in my feet and hands, arms and legs with no clue why it's occurring. I'm scheduled to do a few tests to try to get to the bottom of that and severe crippling leg pains.

Although we have no experience with lung nodules at our end I have seen them mentioned on the board before and although not common they are a known association of Crohn's disease.

Have a look at this article:

http://www.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/pubmed/12915753

Also use the search function with the words spleen or lung nodules. It will pull up quite a few old threads. :)

Since you have small bowel involvement I suggest you have blood levels done for the following:

*B12 - This is a must. The terminal ileum is the only area of the bowel where B12 is absorbed and if your disease is located there then you need to monitor it closely. The fact that you have tingling/numbness in your extremities could very well mean you are deficient as this is a classic symptom.
*Iron Studies
*Vitamin D
*Zinc
*Magnesium

Good luck with the appointment!

Thanks for both your replies I tried to do some research I just couldnt think of a logical explanation for the nodule. Im sure it is nothing to worry about. Just not always sure what questions I should be asking!

Dustykat thanks I will def get those checked. I knew the b12 could be the cause of the pins and needles so for about 2 maybe 3 months ive been taking a "high potency" b12 supplement but I guess there is still the possibility that my body is not absorbing it.
the small bowel involvement is new. I knew my crohns had spaced itself all over but it had never shown issues on scans ect before. My assumption is that the narrowing must be minimal because the dr didn't see any issues on the xray last month. Im just feeling impatient to get the answers from my dr next week.

thanks again im gunna get googling1

Lung nodules are an extra intestinal manifestation of your Crohn's. So when you are flaring it is possible to develop spots (nodules) of inflammation in your lungs. There are different types of nodules but the most common are granuloma tissue just like you have in your bowel and are not any cause for concern. :)

If you have inflammation and/or scar tissue in your terminal ileum then you won't absorb oral B12 supplements.

I have one but my Dr told me they just pretty much sits there. My Dr told me I should get it checked out every so often just to make sure.

Thank you! I feel better for knowing that.
im almost certain the nodule is nothing to worry about and I will get my b12 checked! Thanks so much
