Maybe silly question but curious

Hi, this may be a silly question but I have recenlty noticed that when I have my bowels open which is pretty much about 20 times a day that on top of the water there seems to be an oily residue, does anyone else get this. I have recently had my scope and they found inflamation in rectum and Caecum which they took biopsies from I see my surgeon on 23rd hopefully for my diagnosis! which sadly I am looking forward to! its been a long time coming.

Sorry if its a silly question, but I am fairy new to this forum.

It isn't a silly question!

Our digestive system can have trouble processing food normally when we are unwell. The oily residue might be fat malabsorption which isn't uncommon in people with IBD.

Hey Theresa,

I have had this several times in the past, Usually accompanied by extremely acidic diahrea, I have noticed this usually follows after I eat something greasy.

Hi Vintage Girl thanks for your post No meds just over the counter pain relief and immodium! I am waiting for my letter from St. Thomas's. I am going to have a food tolerance test on Monday and hope that this may also throw up some things that are not good for me!
