Hey my name is Ian Wright (yes I have heard every imaginable joke)
I have had crohn's since 2000. I tried to pretend I was ok even after losing 4 stone not being able to walk upright and being in agony. I was finally forced to go to the doctors and give 2 weeks to live without medical intervention. I got it and 7 year down the line here i am.
I had a fistula from my stomache to my bladder which ment there was exchange between the 2 systems which was very unpleasant.
In a nut shell: imagine a machine gun firing tomatoe pips
(sorry)
Since then I have had a few flare ups. Had a fistula from just inside my anus out through my butt cheek which was odd.
Luckily for the most part i lead a normal life : snow boarding, climbing, clubbing, drinking, working. Every now and again i get pain but that is controlled with pain killers and avoiding certain food.
I feel unlucky when compared to normal people but very lucky when compared to other crohn's sufferers.
