Dairy is my nightmare. If i stay away 100%, I can have regular stools. Well, pale looking, but at least not the big "D".

I drink soy milk with my rice chex but i read that even soy milk can be bad, is that true? Should I drink rice milk?

What do you think?

Don't know about soymilk, but I do drink Lactaid (Loctose free) milk and I've had no problems. Now, if I drink regular milk I get real bad gas, and sometimes D.

I'm lactose intolerant and I prefer almond milk. It's creamy and tasty and doesn't upset me. I like it better than soymilk, ricemilk, and lactaid milk. I can't do nuts themselves, they hurt, but almond milk doesn't hurt.

Is the almond milk chalky? I have been trying so hard to find a milk that doesn't upset my tummy and that I like the taste of. I found the rice milk always had little particles floating in it no matter how hard I shook it.

You could also try Milkaid tablets. They have lactase in them (the enzyme that breaks down lactose). You just have to take a couple whenever you have dairy.

No, it's not very chalky, I think it's creamy and quite good. I buy a brand called Almond Breeze. It tastes a little bit like almonds but not in an unpleasant way. The vanilla kind is really good, I haven't yet tried the chocolate kind but I've been meaning to.

I heard you should stay away from soy if you are a guy 'cause it raises your estrogen levels and can make you moody.

I switched to Silk Milk (soy) about a year ago and it helped a lot with D. I prefer the original to the almond because I don't want the vanilla taste interfering with my cereal. Anyway, a small bowl of Special K Low Fat Granola with fresh strawberries and Silk Milk is dang near a dessert! Good luck finding a milk substitute you like and can tolerate.
