My doctor told me today that I don't have Crohn's disease. He says that I have ulcerative colitis. He says that he has wondered for a while why I had the initial diagnosis of Crohn's disease?
Does this happen a lot? Does it even make a difference?
I think a UC DX would give more options...for example a jpouch could be performed a d put you in remission where as with Crohns this wouldn't work. I'm not sure entirely. What was his explanation for him to think its uc and not Crohns after all these years?
Wow- ya know I was in the hospital in Feb. where I was rediagnosed with Crhons. It was not until my second follow up I ws told my Chrons was now in my large intestine. Really the "minor" details dont matter!?! Maybe thats what happened to you??
Usually it's the other way around. People are initially diagnosed with UC and then it ends up being Crohn's Disease. What is the doctor seeing that makes him think you have UC rather than CD?
