Good morning everyone! :ysmile:

I would just like to ask if anyone here has been on Modulen? I have now started on this after a disastrous start over the easter weekend and am on track but I am finding it very, very hard not having any food at all.

I have a 2 year old and find it so hard having to prepare her meals as normal which we would all share together as a family and then after everyone has finished I go and sit down with a drink that isnt really filling me up.

I feel like a bit of a fraud really at the moment because I dont feel that bad. But I had a colonoscopy about a month ago and they had to stop it because they found a stricture that was very tight and they tell me I have "severe and extensive disease" around that area and have arranged for me to have an MRI scan in May. Im being started on Humira after scan so I only have to take the Modulen until then. If I felt as bad as I have done in the past I would understand it all, but at the moment aside from the frequent toilet trips and general tiredness I dont feel too bad.

Im just finding everything confusing at the moment as I havent really been given an awful lot of information on it. Like how come you're not allowed you eat anything at all, can you have a glass of wine while you're on it, what can I expect with regards to going to the toilet.... the list is endless but were on another bank holiday weekend and i cant get hold of anyone at the hospital to ask. Thanks everyone!

Hey hey, I tried it last June... I must admit I had a terrible time with it, and lost 10 pounds in 2 weeks. Despite trying every way of taking it, sipping slowly taking very small amounts and building it up, I had very bad, almost constant diarrhoea.

However, don't despair as my doc seemed to think I was in a very small number of people that reacted like this, and I have often read things on here where people have said it is a wonder supplement, and have had all their symptoms cured! Also people have said how it does keep you full after a while of taking it.

I now have the puzzle of owning about 20+ cans of the stuff.... I know if I take it back to the pharmacy they will destroy it, and that seems criminal as they are all in tact and in date for ages.... and surely it is not medicine, but a food supplement?!

I wish you well with the modulen, and I really hope it works for you! I found mixing it with chocolate nesquick the most tasty way!! :) xxx
