Hey Everyone,
I have some good news, I recently visited my new GI - fantastic doctor in a well known hospital. He says I'm okay and to take things day by day but I've been having some joint/muscle aches and pains and wondering if anyone else is going through this as well? right now I'm on Entocort and temporarily I am taking some anit-anxiety meds. I've felt this kind of joint pain before but I'm wondering if it's because of the Entocort or crohn's itself, etc.

anyone?

I'm also currently on Entocort, but I've had joint and lower back aches & pains when I was on no meds, so I think it's probably the disease itself. My joint pains frequently occur in the big joints, such as hips and knees, and it's usually much worse when I'm flaring. So my guess is that it's a flare thing or just another symptom of the illness.

Joint pain was never a major issue for me, but I would sporadically have some (usually in my knees) during flares. Some of those times, I'm pretty sure physical activity had a part in it.

I've have pain in my joints, hips, shoulder, knees and I have back arthritis the doctor says, it's all from my Crohn's. And yes it is worse since I've been in a flare for the last 5 months. I stay moving and can hardly wait to be over this flare.

Some where I did read a thread about this. Soemthing like ReA and it is directly related to Crohn's.

Good luck,
Michele

I have ReA causing pain in my ribs and back, but my muscle aches (which for a while I mistook for joint issues) were cause I was not getting enough vitamins (iron and B12).

I have Crohns and collagenous colitis and have had lower back, hip, and knee pains for about 10 years now. It get's especially bad during a flare.

Initially the Entocort helped quite a bit bit after 7 months on it the efficacy started to fade. I am now on Imuran 150mg and this seems to help with the joint pain quite a bit. My theory is that the joint pain is part of the autoimmune reaction that is present with Crohns.

I have what is now severe lower back pain. My Rhumy Doc says its the SI Joints and is crohn's related. He is working on a treatment plan for me considering my GI says no NSAIDS.

The back/hip pain used to be with flares, now it is a constant, I suggest going to a Rhumatologist and dealing with the joint issues before they get worse.

I have pains in nearly every bone in my body. I am currently on Morphine to help the pain. So days are worse that others but the pain never leaves completely. There are days when I can't lift a cup or walk so I have to use a wheelchair.

Although I would not wish this on anyone, its good to be able to talk with others who are going through the same. I often thought I was the only one, as I never met anyone else suffering similar.

Big hugs to all crohns sufferers

God bless

My feet are sore at the beginning of the day but that wears off in a couple of hours. I feel pain and weakness in my arms and shoulders.

I went to the rhumey yesterday, he did a joint injection on my facet joints and this is the first morning in YEARS I am not waking up in massive back pain. He said the pain is because of my crohns. So, if the pain becomes an issue get to a rhumey he can fix it!
