Hello, got an email about this forum, I'd never posted before and forgot about it but had registered. My story: I've had IBD probably my whole life. I'm 75 now. My aunt told me my Mom said I pooped a lot as a baby, LOL. always had to go 4-5 times a day until my 30s, Had multiple colonoscopies in my 30s & 40s. Was diagnosed with UC in mid 2000s and had a subtotal procto-collectomy ileostomy in 2008. Was OK with that until 2019 I was admitted to hospital with a small intestine blockage. Went home with med pack, didn't see a gastro, learned I had to chew thoroughly. Had more minor blockages at home that didn't last long until Dec 2023 and was in hospital 4 days with stomach pump down my nose/throat and an endoscope. Saw gastro Dr in Jan 2024, he did tests and I had an MRI in March 2023 and they confirmed I had Crohn's. Testing before the Ileostomy in 2008, different Gastro Dr said it was not Crohn's, they sent a special test sample to California that took a week or two to get back, Dr. said because I didn't have something in my system, he couldn't use some Meds Humira?. I have tested pos. for TB since high school. I have been on Entyvio infusions since June 2023 with no problems.
