Hey guys just wondering if you have any easy tips on seasonings on white rice that are easy on your crohn's. I'm currently in a flare up and I'm having to BRAT because even my typical safe foods are making me sick. Plain white rice just isn't cutting it for my taste buds though! Suggestions?

Aha, your title made me chuckle. For some reason I imagined goldilocks and the three bears eating rice.

Gluten free soy sauce? It seemed alright for my guts when I was eating nothing but rice and salmon.

Lemon and apple cider vinegar were also useful.

Good luck :)

Instead of cooking the rice in water I sometimes replace the water with low sodium chicken broth.

MAke some bone broth (ie., boil some chicken or beef bones for a few hours) and thicken with a little rice flour to make gravy and pour over rice.

Very simple and probably not to everyone's taste, but I like tomato ketchup on white rice. :)

You could season it with dill and a little bit of lemon (basmati rice). It tastes amazing!!

I like a tiny bit of butter with lemon. Make your own soups too as just rice would get boring no matter how you flavor it. :p

Since this thread is old, how have you been doing Mollyperry28?

Rice pudding,
Heat up old rice (or cook new rice), with coconut cream and water and add a little honey when done.
Sometimes i add dried fruit (chopped small), desiccated coconut, whatever and cook till soft

Oh my that sounds lovely! I have a bbq to go to tomorrow for labor day and not sure what I can eat i may try that for fun since they want me to bring a dessert. Thanks for the idea! :)

I put A1 Sauce on my rice sometimes. A little big goes a long way. I mostly use a spray butter and a dash of garlic salt.

I have a hard time with dairy so rice pudding can be a challenge. I often put spray butter and light sugar with cinnamon on my rice. It tastes very close to rice pudding without the dairy. Sometimes I will also add a splash of vanilla rice milk.

Hi All,

You could try wrapping hard spices such as Star Anise, Cinnamon Sticks and Cloves in cheesecloth and simmering them in chicken stock before cooking rice in it.
