Hello everyone,
My name is Gregory Gerber. I am 19 and I have been living with Crohns disease since I was 13 years old. Ive been on all types of drugs and understand and hate the side effects as mich as everyone else. im pretty new to this forum thing and dont fully understand how it works but im willing to talk to anyone if they feel the need. I also have learned to manage my disease through diet. My diet consists of all natural and all organic foods. It seems to make sense that someone who has Chrons, their body has a difficult time digesting the foods with all the preservatives and chemicals that are in the fast foods or "everyday foods" that we eat.

Hi Greg :bigwave: welcome to the forum! Dont worry about learning the forum, heck I have been here 3 years coming and still learning

I too have done the holistic, diets, fads and nothing works for me. You have to keep your stress level down that really does help. Being 19 and having a social life is hard, we know. One thing is you are not alone and there are many here your age and in the US and all over the world.

Everyone is different but the pain can be the same, or different symptoms. Most of us do the trial and error thing, something is bound to help. Where your Crohn's located. Are you on any meds currently?

Glad you found us, many great people to help you!

Dear Pen,
I have been doing organics and all natural foods and supplements for 5 years and it has worked for me. Stress also plays a big role in it and I understand that. I have a hard time dealing with stress and that is a big reason I have come to use this support group. It feels good know I am not alone in my struggles. I am currently taking prednisone and imuran. I absolutely hate the side effects. It makes me feel jittery and I always feel like something is wrong.

Hi and welcome, Greg. I'm glad you joined us. This is a big forum so take your time looking through it if you'd like to.

Prednisone makes me feel jittery too. We have a pred sub-forum where you can share your thoughts and frustrations. http://www.crohnsforum.com/forumdisplay.php?f=80

And here's an Imuran sub-forum. http://www.crohnsforum.com/forumdisplay.php?f=64

I agree that the preservatives and chemicals in our western diet are bad for us. That's great that you are so careful about what you eat. Keep it up!

Hi Greg and welcome! I am glad to hear you have found the right treatment for you through diet and supplements. Are you taking any medication at this time?

I hope you continue to do so well!

What's up Greg? I'm only 21 myself. Prednisone sucks! I took it for a very long time, and not so good things happened. The doctor also tried to put me on Imuran and I said no lol so currently I'm on nothing. What kind of organic foods do you eat? I'm assuming you still live at home with your parents, do they grow foods or do you just shop in the healthy food aisle lol.

You'll find lots of help here so don't be afraid to ask any questions

Sorry about that Greg, I overlooked that you are on Imuran and pred. I imagine the pred is making you feel jittery. I hope that once you stop taking pred, the feeling will go away for you.
