My symptoms sound like IBD, IBS or ?

Hi, firstly my symptoms started about 5 years ago. Diarrhea although not watery, just loose, also sometimes pallet like stools, gas and lots of mucus + felling like I need to go to the toliet about a dozen times a day and all that would come out is bloobs of mucus and gas and I would feel relieved, feeling would come back in 30 minutes or so etc etc but this wouldn't happen all the time, maybe for a week and then my symptoms would change to lots of gas and more looser stools. Honestly there is no rhyme or reason, doesn't mater what I eat.

I got a double barium contrast enema and it didn't show anything. Doctors suggested IBS. Now my symptoms pretty much went away for 4 years, although I did still have mucus in and wrapped around the stool and sometimes loose stools but I never worried about it, the gas had gone and the urgency had gone. Over the past summer my symptoms have returned.

I have gone back to the hosital and have had blood work done, ultrasound, test for celiacs and H Pylori. I tested positive for H Pylori but the medication didn't do anything.

My biggest worry or frustration is this mucus that causes me to get a urgency and the discomfort it brings.

I have never noticed blood in or on my stools except when I get this mucus urgency but I am pretty sure it is from me excessively wiping and trying to force out the mucus as I can usually wrap a bit of tissue around my fingure and blot where the blood is coming from and if I don't do this excessive wiping and forcing I don't notice blood. I have had two doctors give me a finger up the bum exam.

Do these symptoms sound familiar? I am getting a colonoscopy done but I can't get it till the end of April. How acurate is this Double Barium X-Ray anyway?

These symptoms to me seem quite farmilliar... unfortunately i am also undiagnosed... i do suggest an upper gi and a colonoscopy though..... i am almost done with my treatment for hpylori and it has done NOTHING but make me miserable lol. going to the doctors today to hear what he says.... i hope you find your answers ... remember if the doctor isnt listening to you go find someone else... they are here to work for us... make us feel better... not worse

I will, still 5 weeks for my colonoscopy then will have to wait for upper GI scope if they find nothing. I have had H Pylori and a ulcer in the past and the meds worked. It can be related to diarrhea but not mucus.

I am at a lost as to what is causing my symptoms though as I can't find much info online about passing mucus only and the urge that it brings. Expecially as it doesn't happen every day. Maybe proctitis?

.. my mucous while talking to my doc got written of as a diarrhea symptom.. but i dont get relief from going to the bathroom it ends up hurting more :/ and i run in and out of the bathroom all day. Also get tested for celiac disease.

Yeah got tested for celiac but was negative. Were i live they do all the little tests first and you have to wait months and months and months to get to the test that really count like a colonoscopy. I swear the anxiety of making people wait causes more strain on the healthcare system than putting in more money for the extra doctors and equipment to get the waiting list down to days.

Make sure they know all your symptoms before they go in and that your colonoscopy is a full one and not just a flex sig
