Here's the scenario: I have had the diagnosis of Crohn's for almost 4 years now, will be by Halloween, and we have added fibromyalgia since then. I have been on Remicade and done really well most of that time. Recently I have started having some symptoms and had a colonoscopy that came back with active Crohn's.

I have recently started eating mostly organic and being more active (it wouldn't be accurate to call it exercising but it's more than I was doing). Anyway, I have noticed a big improvement in my joint and body pain and in my level of energy, but not much if any improvement on my gut symptoms including pain. Since the Remicade is not working I am looking at other options and I am very intrigued by the possibility of treating my Crohn's naturally. I would love to get some advice from those who have tried natural options.

Thanks!
Amanda

I tried many natural treatments, including eating organic, no processed food, etc. and only got worse.

I haven't applied exercise as a treatment, but can't say I've noticed that my symptoms improve in any way when I've been more active. (Though there's obviously a correlation with the causal factor the other way - the sicker I am, the less active!)

I have done quite a few natural remedies. I have found they work only if you are already in remission or close to it. And you must continue with whatever works for you. Also they usually only work in the early stages of the disease before it has done too much damage to your intestines.
If you stray from your regimen it is likely you will flare and then going back to the remedy that worked no longer works
Did macrobiotic got remission for 2 years forgot I was a crohnie oops
Did SCD and got remission for about 2 years wi 5 mg pred. Along with it. But dropped Flagyl cipro and fistula stayed closed.
Now I find the natural remedies are an adjunct therapy that help the mainstream meds work better and help you feel better and mitigate side effects help your body deal with rather than reject drugs like remicade.
I am pretty much paleo these days, lots of supplements VD,,resveratrol, turmeric probiotics etc. exercise and saunas
Had to have a seton placed which worked very well and just. Had second entyvio and it seems to be helping with. No side effects so far.
That's my experience
Good luck it's worth trying
