Hello,
I'm in 7th grade and am doing an essay on Crohn's Disease. Does anyone have websites for my research? The website can't be just written by anybody, it needs to be written by somebody with credentials. Also, I need names of books.

Please & thank you. :)

Hi - welcome to the forum.
It might be helpful if you specify what you are writing your essay on...specifically.... there is a lot of information on Crohns so Im not sure what to give you. You can also google Crohns and get book titles.
You could also call your local Crohns and Colitis foundation and they might even have material you could go and pick up.
I would start with the Crohns and colitis foundation for your area and go from there :)

Good luck on your essay - I think since you have the disease yourself..you would be considered an expert on your own history.. if you're comfortable with that, I would also work my own experience in to the essay - teachers like that but Im not sure what your guidelines or parameters are!
Take care and keep checking - I am sure you will get other replies

Hi there

I've just read a brilliant book, it's called Inflammatory Bowel Disease (The Essential Guide to controlling Crohn's Disease, Colitis and other IBD's) by Professor John Hunter. It's very comprehensive. Maybe worth a look at for your essay :)

The National Association for Crohns & Colitis is a great website for info too

Good luck.

The two best sites for Canada and US is www.ccfc.ca and the other is www.ccfa.org

a book that is very easy read for everyone is Crohns Disease and Ulcerative Colitis Second Edition by Fred Saibil MD... my whole family read it, goes up to the Biologics for medications. Good luck and if you need any more help just ask! ;)

Hello kissy1097,

If you need to use books as part of your research, it probably makes sense to go to your local library and see what books they have on Inflammatory Bowel Disease. There have been dozens of books written over the years, so depending on the size of your local library, you might be able to access a few different ones.

If you live near a college or university you might also want to see if you can access their library as that is another likely source for books on IBD.
