Hi everyone,

I have had a severe perianal abscess with Sepsis, resulting in 4 consequetive operations in April. In the final operation they put a loose seton through the fistula.

I had a fistulotomy last month and a cutting seton put in. I am due a final surgery at the end of the year.

Last week I noticed the seton had gone. I left a message with the Surgeon and spoke to my GP who said carry on. I am due to go back to work in a week.

I have noticed that there is no drainage now and I get a bit of throbbing in the area, but no significant pain.

My significant pain comes from my lowet back. My Occupational Health Doctor feels I have a weakened lower trunk. I am awaiting physio.

Has anyone experienced anything similar and can they advise please?

Hi Mouse,
Sorry I've not experienced this myself, but sending you support. I have a fistula witha loose seton in at the moment.

Did your surgeon get back to you yet? No drainage and no significant pain sounds positive at least

Surgeon hasn't contacted but will see him end of November.

Saw physio and I have problem with very tense lower spine and weak core. She worked my spine and I feel a lot better for it. Greatly relieved that it isn't a reforming abscess - my worst nightmare!
