"Normal" flare-up or partial obstruction?

Dear fellow Chronies,

I've made such a mistake: :facepalm:I ate some nuts this weekend even though I know that I can't tolerate them that well. I felt quite bad already before (Humira is not kicking in) so I thought I feel bad anyway, so I can have some peanuts. Well, right after that I was fine but a few hours later I started having really bad cramps and my terminal ileum (yes I know exactly where it is because I feel constant pain there for months now) was even visible from the outside which looked really scary, plus I looked like 5 months pregnant. I went to bed with a heating pad for the upper tummy and a cool pad for the terminal ileum which seemed to help. The next day I felt okay but soon later I started having diarrhea and loose stools like 15 times a day like in my worst flare-up (well, my Crohn's is chronically active since the diagnosis in autumn 2014). On Monday I felt a bit better again but experienced massive nausea so I switched to pureed food and soups as I don't feel any hunger and my stools keep loose and are still like 12 times a day. Today it is still the same and my tummy is rumbling around the area of the terminal ileum. I can also still see it from the outside and it's relatively hard. It should be normal and flexible again now, right?
I had this situation of rumbling around the terminal ileum a few times before and sometimes I also could see it but it always calmed down over night. This persisting d and loose stools is something I haven't experienced before.
Do you think this could be a partial small bowel obstruction? Every food passes through within an hour. And my lower abdomen (terminal ileum area) hurts so badly but it comes and goes.
Well (maybe that's important to know), I can't see any peanut pieces in the loo any more so that might be a good sign, right?
I am going to see my GI next Monday and am probably switching to Ensure by then in order to be able to work tomorrow (I can't be prescribed ill that often for work) and the rest of the week. I also added Entocort again.

Any ideas? Did anyone experience something similar?:frown:

I just wanted to let you know: It looks like a "normal" flare-up but I could not reach my GP (holidays). I feel a bit better but every time I eat I feel extremely nauseous and during the whole day I have this nice burning pain at the terminal ileum area. I'm never hungry and when I eat a normal portion size of some pureed veggies my terminal ileum forms a ball or something and it hurts so much. Every food comes out as loose stools or D one hour after I ate it but I can see some slight improvement, well, at least I hope so. I am going to see my GI next week, hope he has an idea what to do now because Humira obviously does not work as things get worse in general, also my Crohn's arthritis got worse while on Humira.

What are the chances im experiencing the same right now, knew i had crohns since 2014 bt was only diagnosed in may 2015, been on budesonide n aziathroprine, so i go out on saturday night with some family and i treat myself to abit of lamb meat (1 of the foods my gut rebels towards) i come home that night and i start getting pain and this pain is sort of different to the pain i had prior to being diagnosed nevertheless it is rather excruciating and like u said it comes and go and my diahorrea has started again since eating that lamb something i hadnt had for over 5 months and iv only been in remission for 2months (longest period yet) since saturday night iv been in bouts of pain bt iv only been going toilet 3,4 times a day and after doing some research i believe it may also be a partial.obstruction due to the similar symptoms, along with the arnold schwerznegger terminator stomach noises, bt my pain seems to be just below my belly button n near the terminal ileum(colonoscopy showed this area as being inflammation city) n i feel bloated like a balloon, is been 5 days now only felt better 1 of the days bt i have stoppd myself frm going to A&E / ER soldiering through the pain for now,as crohnies are tuff nuts (not an indirect at the cause of ur pain lol) to crack, not having proper stools n the pain throughout the day is crazy not sure if its a flare up or partial obstruction any1 know? P.s sory for the messy writing , typing on fne

Thank you crow-hens! Massaging was a good idea. I'm massaging every evening since then.
My GI did not really know what it was either. It was gone when I saw him, just the "normal" flare-up symptoms there. So, no more nuts for me, that's for sure.
I'm currently switching to pumpkin mash from potato mash. Can't see potatoes any longer as a flare-up food.

I feel more and more nauseous again, yesterday I was not able to sleep because I felt that extreme nausea again, fortunately the zofran kicked in relatively fast and I could finally fall asleep at around 1am. It was unbearable. I could not vomit, not eat, not drink any cup of herbal tea to improve symptoms, only take the zofran pill with some sips of water and wait for relief. Now it's getting worse hour by hour again. I'm also taking 80-100 mg pantoprazole per day (in 2-3 doses) for my stomach pain.

I'm wondering if that extreme nausea can occur due to an inflamed TI or only when the stomach or jejunum is inflamed as well? Does anyone know?
