I have had recurring incidents of blockage lately (for the past 6 months or so) that come and go. I get a full and sick feeling, realize that something is not right, then i can't sit down and I have to walk around in quite serious discomfort/pain (sometimes vomiting) and after a 1-3 hours it suddenly opens up and I feel almost instant relief.
I have a test scheduled at the end of the month, but is it ok to keep doing this every week or two? is it a sign of bad inflammation?
i had a previous resection, and was told that one result of surgery could be a greater possibility of blockages (i avoid popcorn, stringy vegis and usual stuff that could cause it) But this is getting a bit scary.

also, if it occurs, should I drink? would that be likely to help, or to cause me more pain and fullness and possible vomiting? How do you know if it is perforating?

best to ask your doc what he would recommend. You can drink some ginger tea to keep body warm and help reduce upset stomach. Can offer some comfort. Avoid cold drinks/foods. Delete any sugars as that can also sometimes constipate you. Good luck!

Hi Jobell,
Like many others on here who've had, or have, strictures we almost always end up on a low residue diet. It's really the only option until your meds and treatment plan are sorted out. Hopefully it is inflammation only that is causing the narrowing. The scan will shed some light on that. You may need some complete nutrition drinks, and some pain meds too.
All the best.
