Hi all,
Often when I eat greasy food I will have what looks like a puddle of grease in the bowl when I poo. I think it is a sign of fat not absorbing right...? Just curious if anyone else gets this and if there is anything special they do for it.

certain. Its a thin film of shiny grease. I get mucus too, but it is different and doesn't seem to really relate to what I eat.

I know I get it where my stool looks really greasy, like shiny. I have had the mucus thing also, but this is different. It is like the whole stool looks glossy or something. I do not eat fatty foods either so no clue what it is. I have not been DX with crohns yet, my GI keeps saying IBS. I just do not know though. Surely he will run tests if I keep getting worse.

I have had it luna - especially after eating garlic bread for some reason. It seems to be the worst. It will pick up some fat from the beef at dinner too and look sort of brown and oily.

I have had the same thing as well....only I have an ileostomy, but same idea. I notice it especially after having taco's (ground beef isn't drained of its grease as it is when I make hamburgers etc...) so I too assumed it was just excess fat not being absorbed....yum!

I have done some reading and found that fat malabsorbtion can be related to small bowel resections. Ah ha! But is there anything that can be done about it?
