My husband had a mild but constant stomach ache for 3 weeks.

Went to the Dr, blood drawn no biggie, gallbladder ultrasound no biggie.

Lying on the ultrasound table you get a call from your Dr who says we can't
see your pancreas very well, we are going to do a CT while you are there.

Shit just got real!

My husband was diagnosed with pancreatic cancer.

I know I am not the only one who has had the world knocked out den under them but I too can't even process all this right now.

For a quick little laugh it should suprise no one that the OR staff including the
Drs had to wait for me to get out of the bathroom to explain everything to me .

I walked in and apologized and told them I have CD and it was acting up.

What a day

Oh no...sending support and prayers too...that is nothing to mess with.....glad it was found and hope it is one of the more treatable types.

~~~~~hugs~~~~~
Support sent. I hope treatment goes well.
I'm only mentioning this as coincidentally I've been reading on cancer, pancreatic cancer in particular the last couple of weeks. When looking to read and listen to additional ideas on pancreatic cancer treatments you might read on Professor John Beard, Dr. Jerry Tennant, and Dr. Nicholas Gonzales.
Good luck.
Tots, oh my, I'm so sorry to hear it. Let us know if there's anything that we can do for you. And of course if you need to vent or need a shoulder to cry on, we're always here for you. Big gentle hugs to you. And I'm glad to hear you are still able to find some humor in the midst of such an awful time.
I agree,we're all here for you,day and night.Talk about kicking a person when they're down,bloody hell.
Big hugs x :rosette2:
Oh my what a horrible day. Sending good thoughts your way. Hope your CD will calm while you deal with this.
Tots, I am so so sorry. Please feel free to share here any time you need to. I know more about pancreatic cancer than I want to know and I'm sure there are many others here who will listen and help if you want.
I'm sending good wishes and prayers your way.
Waiting to hear an update.
Sorry.
Thank you so much for all the support!
Right now my husband is in Florida at the Moffitt Cancer Center. His sister started working there 18 months ago. That's how long they estimated he has had the tumor. She was going to turn the job down because it's nothing she has ever done before. She happens to work for the Pancreatic Cancer dept. He is a stage three. So far in everything they have done he has exceeded their expectations. And we are very thankful for that.
For those that don't know our history, Joe is not the most understanding when it come to
my CD. I am greatful he has noticed the fact I have stepped in and taken over all the household things he used to do. Thank goodness I am still on disbility!! He needs to allow his body to fight this disease and I don't want him to get worn out.
As we all know our kids are our kids forever and telling your kids the news was the worst thing I have had to do. Even at 28,26 and 21 you want to take away the pain and heartbreak they feel. Shield them, and you can't. Hard to swallow that. I did make sure they each had some one who knew that was close to them so they had a safe person to turn to and they wouldn't have to explain. Just vent etc.
The Drs are optimistic, that being said most of us know what this diagnosis means. We are only 52, we have been together since we were 17. Never in a million years would I have quessed this. Never. I already have a PTSD due to all the stuff we have gone through. Five lay offs,middle son had ecoli, salmonella, broken back and dramatic brain injury to name. few of life's little events. Luckily my GP was the one to diagnose Joe and his next call was to me to discuss keeping me as healthy physically, emotionally and spiritually.
Thank you again for your kind words!
Lauren,I can only imagine how you feel.Life is so unfair to some ,and you must wonder "why me" ? You're obviously mentally strong,so you just get through one day at a time.Please remember to be kind to yourself,even if it's just a quiet hour on your own.
Sending hugs to you.
So sorry Tots, we are all thinking of you! Let us know if you need anything.
Best,
