out of hospital again =) FRUSTRATION

So after 11 days of freedom I was readmitted to the hospital for a Crohns flareup (again). I had CT scans and ultra sounds and as well as crohns its turns out i probably have endometriosis as well :(. Its just so frustrating and i was wondering if anyone else feels the same way - just fed up in general. Im only 17 and i cant remember the last time my stomach wasnt aching and its just hard - i think i need to find a new gastroenterologist as my current one is not doing anything to help - apparently i am imagining the pain even though th CT scan showed imflammation most likely from my condition. So Im on pregnizone and azathioprine has been increased tp 75 mg - its so annoying being in constant pain and having to live with it all the time.
Sorry for whinging i just had to get that out or i was going to explode! I thought long term sufferers who know what im going through migh be able to give me some advice in general about how you manage to keep coping - i just want to live a relatively normal life

Sorry too hear your having so much trouble

yea I've jus been released myself after 2.5 weeks inside :(

if your tests show inflamation etc then your spec isn't doing there job by ignoring this
I'd be looking for another opinion myself

I'm glad my specialist is on top of things and constanly helping me out

im constantly tired which sucks :ybatty: but im doing okay apart form random stomach spasms and the usual :)poo: ) hahaha but i suppose you just have to keep going and make the best of situations ^^ wow rob 2 and a half weeks must have been boring big time - i was going stir crazy (i missed my family :()

Yea I went nuts lol
missed my family an my girls - got a hypo welcome from them lol
but out now an feelin better than when I went in so was worth it

hav you ever tried gastrolite or hydrolite?
I found drinking this compared too jus plain water etc helped me heaps in my down moments

Do you take any multi vitamins etc also?

When on prednisone it's advised too take a calcium and vitamin d tablet (I only jus found this out myself an started taking one)
I also take omega3 fish oil capsule and centrum multi vitamin

could be because you/we can't tollerate cetain foods that your missing out on what u need

Sorry to hear you're suffering kittykat. When I was younger I also had endometriosis which caused severe pain in addition to the Crohn's, and right before my period I would always have a small flare. When I got the endo under control then the Crohn's seemed to calm down, too.

OOOHHH! KAT! Sorry, (((HUGS))) Crohns just sucks..i Hope you feel better soon. Get another GI if he is poopooing it. I had a DR tell me I needed to quit my job and take a vacation! LOL It was my fault I had crohns! Give me a break! Talk or consult another GI...Good luck! Sue

((HUGS)) Kat!! I'm sorry you have to struggle with this so badly. I would definitely get another GI, and sooner rather than later. I wouldn't tolerate someone saying it is in your head when you have evidence on a scan - that is ridiculous! I'd also get a really good OBGYN to help you get the endo under control so that will be one less thing you have to contend with. So many of the women on her suffer with the CD flaring when they have their periods. I did - so I just got on birth control to get rid of it. I wish you luck hon!!

Sorry to hear all of that Kat - sadly I can't give much advice re the endo, but with the tummy pains, have you tried a wheat bag or hot water bottle? I had a nasty flare-up last year a few months after a resection, went through A&E and stayed in over the weekend, to find I had a new inflammation around the site of my op, only a few months after! I found that I had no diarrhoea or anything but had worse pain than before my op. So I tried everything to ease it, along with the traditional "warm thing on tummy" approach.... and I did find it helps sometimes, even if I already felt very warm - it takes the edge off a little. (sorry if a million other people gave this advice!)

Btw Rob is right - my gastro nurse actually prescribed calcium/vitamin D tablets along with the pred. So it's worth asking :)

(((HUGS))) for you Kat Im sorry you are having to deal with so much at the moment... good luck girl.

Hugs Kat, you poor thing going through all this at such a young age.

Definitely try the heat suggested by coachvee, I have a plug in heat pad I find extremely helpful.

Good luck .
