Pain below ribs

I'm having pain below my ribs, on the right. It can be excruciating at times. It began the day after a foot surgery. Have any of you experienced this? I have another colonoscopy coming up soon.

Hi, I have this. Doc first thought it could be gallbladder pain, but I had mine removed 40 years ago. My gastro doc decided it was acid reflux, I couldn't believe that would be a symptom, but I found him to be right. I stopped all things that irritate GE acid reflux and the pain stopped. Naturally he wanted to give me a pill, but watching my diet worked well, so I'll stick with that.
