Pain while eating and Infliximab

Dear all,

Let me tell u my story. I jus complete my 5th dose of Infliximab and normally when i go for this treatment, My remission is only for 2 weeks. Then it start back to nomal. I'm so tired of the pain...My stomach aches terribly and this started a week ago when i was having constipation. Then now, my old pain, diarhea, diffiiculty to eat, pain while eating and so on are all back. I'm so down and i realy feel like giving up in life.
Current prescription of doc is 10mg steroids, imuran 75mg and iron tablets. I'm only taking steroids and iron tablets as i get pain while taking imuran. Can anyone tell me what is the benefits of taking imuran??
Please help me as i don't know what to do. I jus started a new job and i don't wanna be like this. Anyone with any ideas which can help me?? Please..and thank you.

i was on 6mp (which is the same as imuran i think) for a while but it didnt really help me much, that was a number of years ago. from some other posts ive read though, it seems that painful side effects from it isnt too uncommon. have you talked to your doc about it? if the drug itself is causing you pain, then its not worth taking probably, its supposed to releive your pain!
talk to your doc about all of this, maybe they can up your dosage of the remi, that happens to quite a few people as well.
what ever the case, you shouldnt have to be sick all the time and there are definitly other solutions out there to try.
keep trying! one will work for you eventually.

Hi Lily. I don't really have any answers but I just wanted to let you know that I understand your pain. I know what its like to be taking medication and have nothing work. I agree, you should talk to you doc, you don't have to put up with feeling unwell all the time. There's light at the end of the tunnell. I eventually found something that works for me and feeling much better. Good luck!!
