pain

I just called my doctor's office to tell them about the soreness where my stitches are. I thought that once I had the ileostomy taken off I could finally live a normal life again. I quit work months ago because I was in constant pain from the blockage. After having surgery I had to deal with pain for another couple of weeks. The two months I went without pain where still tough for me because I had a bag. I Hated emptying it in public bathrooms or other people's houses because it smelled so bad. I hated going out because it would ballon out. I had a blockage a week before christmas, so again, more pain. Now I've had the bag removed and the area where my stoma was is stitched up but the hole in the center is opening up! The stitches are supposed to dissolve, but they are literally ripping through my skin and making thin scar lines and blood is oozing out of the holes. I haven't gone anywhere or seen anyone except for my loving boyfriend. I am thankful for him and my mom. Without the two of them I would be in a bigger mess. I'm just tired of sitting here and hurting constantly. I want to be a cna again but was advised against the lifting. I'm starting to wonder if I did something to get cursed. Now I just wait for my doctor to call me back. Has anyone else had trouble with an ileostomy take down? The stitches in particular..It's like I'm getting stabbed over and over again. The only relief I get is when I lay on my back with my head propped up.

Rain, what did the Dr say?

You said only when you were laying down did it help. I'm wondering if a hernia is developing and you should keep laying down until the surgeon follow up appt? When is that?

Thank you for asking. :)
The doctor didn't restitch it but apparently they usually leave ileostomy sites open to drain and heal from the inside out. It's a big gaping hole, so it's pretty scary looking. There's some localized infection going on, but I was told to take two showers a day and I have and antibiotic to take twice a day for two weeks. All in all, not too bad, just got freaked out when the stitch ripped through my skin. x_x lol
I have to admit that through all of it I'm really glad that I don't have a bag anymore. Maybe later I might have to get it and not mind, but not at my age right now.

why can't you?

Dr here Wont do it on crohns people even though Ive had 3 other drs say different. He's the only one in washington state that can do it.. I can only get it done here because my insurance wont cover it anywhere else.
