I feel like this is my Crohn's baby as the consultant gave me some photographs to bring home! I'm not sure they will make the family album!

He talked through the procedure with me afterwards but most of it went in one ear and out the other after the Pethidine! He is sending me a copy of the letter he is sending my GP so hopefully that will explain everything. Basically it is a lot worse than my last scope 5 years ago and I am going to be going on to Azathioprine. The first image is from the 'bottom' end and the other two are further up. I think he only managed to get to 70cm. The blood is because he took biopsies before taking the photos.

Good pics! I like to have photos from my scopes, if the docs are going to put me out and look up my bum, I like to at least have a souvenir!

I'm one of those sick people (haha, pun intended) who are fascinated by scope & surgery pics, my own and others. I like the proof that something is wrong & I'm not just suffering a tummy ache from too much cake or bad take-out.

Bld & SarahAnne, I agree I like my scope pics! It definitely makes Crohn's seem real! Nice to see what is giving us so much grief!

Haha, exactly! I showed my hubby pics from a colonoscopy once. Of course, he had no idea what he was looking at or what it was supposed to look like.

I told him that the colon is a smooth muscle, pink, & should resemble the inside of your cheek. He looked at the pic again and said, "Oh my God!"

Obviously, my pics weren't nearly as pretty as these! :p

They are rather fetching even if I do say so myself! My husband made a quick exit when these came out -he doesn't do blood. He won't even watch ER when he knows it's pretend blood.

Glad I'm not the only one posting scope pix. As for the size, perhaps you should have asked the doc for wallet size. Mine are in my LDN 3 yr later thread. Good luck with the AZA. Hope it works for you. I didn't have anything but bad luck with Azathioprine/Imuran.

Lol I caught a glance at my recent sigmoidoscopy pics while my GI was flipping through my file a couple of visits back and pointed them out to my fiance. He laughed and said yeah your colon should go on our wall at home.

I got pictures from my first colonoscopy and man did my colon SUCK. I keep those in case someone wants to argue how bad my disease really is...nothing shuts a person up like seeing a pussy, ulcer laden colon

Yeah, proof is in the pudding (oh, my gawd, I didn't realize how foul an analogy that was till I'd typed it). I just wish I had photos of the bad areas they surgically removed. I mean, if the bad stuff I've got left is something, I wonder how bad the stuff the cut out was.

Wow that looks angry! Its amazing how different they are. Does anyone else have any I could see?

I still have mine from when I was 14 and the last one I had last year. Sadly my colon is no longer with us, so it serves as a reminder of the old times. RIP colon.
