Hi,

I'm a girl guide in the UK (with Crohn's Diseas) who is completing he Queen's Guide award (which includes an aspect of community action). For my community action section I am researching the effects Crohn's has on people's daily life and setting up a website of useful tips.

So please complete this survey:

http://surveypirate.com/Survey.aspx?surveyid=21324&sp.mac=D4-fGSMzptzl34KVnI4iXw%3d%3d

And add any useful practical tips others may find useful!

Thanks in advance!

I would, but I do not qualify, as I am not young, and did not experience Crohn's in my younger years. At least not for certain.

I guess it boils down to me being a sick old man. Not really that sick, but I am getting old.

I hope the other members that are in the correct category do fill it out.

It asks if you are 26+ not 80  besides you are certainly not old:kello: (careful now I ain't far behind ya :ytongue:)

I hate to break it to you, but you are not behind me. But we are pretty close.

I am old in mind. It is hard not to be when you have grand children. Physically, I can keep up with people younger than myself.

Give me a break, I am trying to bail myself out here.

You know what it just hit me your Avatar is gone! You should of kept it on there, it was a good one of you. :ycool:

The picture was too old. I do not want to be one of those people that have their high school picture displayed when they look nothing like that anymore. I also have a face better suited for radio.

I will take another look at that survey. Maybe I am not too old.

Dan

Survey completed Terri. Good questions!
I was a Brownie and Girl Guide in Canada when I was (a lot!) younger and have wonderful memories of the camp outs, friendships and good old fashioned fun. I still remember the words to many of the songs from campfire and sing them with my daughters. Good luck with your Queens Guide Award!

oh terry you take me back many years. i was the last girl guide in sussex to get the baden powell award, then it change to the queens guide award. i didnt know if to hold off and be the first one to get the new award or not. alot more is involved these days, though. back then things were a bit easier. and by going camping we got 3 badges! how mad is that? i still have my uniform, and that has changed loads as well. its so modern nowadays. we werent allowed to wear trousers or a jumper. and our bagdes were sewn onto our sleeves, which was a real pain for my mum, as we grew she had to take them all off and sew them onto my bigger blouse. i like the idea of sewing them onto a sash, much more practical.

Hey Terrianne, could you do us a favour and let us know if you can get the statistics or results from this? Just curious.

I was going to take it but I didn't get Crohn's till my late 30's...good luck with the badge though...sorry I couldn't help!
