So I'm on prednisone and have developed a huge appetite, I just never feel full! The only issue is I'm eating more and more rubbish.
My question is has anyone got any suggestions for foods and snacks that helped them feel full? :)

Hi. I am sorry you are having this problem. Prednisone always affected me the same say. We have a section in here called Diet, Fitness and Supplements. I am wondering if someone over there can help you. Best to you.

My appetite is insatiable when I'm on prednisone. The low calorie/bulky foods like fruits and vegetables I couldn't eat because of my stricture. If you can eat dairy yogurt can be filling and drinking lots of water can help you feel full.

Oh goodness when I was on predisolone I turned into a food monster. I remember one night making my partner drive me to KFC under threat of violence if he didn't! ! 😂😂

The only think I can suggest is to choose your food wisely but I certainly didn't and 7 years later I'm still carrying the extra weight I put on over those months. I wish you absolutely the best of luck xxx

I gained 20lbs. Still attempting to lose it.

My appetite was on the loose.

My Dr said that part of my weight gain (besides the face) could also be in part since my body never really took in nutrients from my food. Once I started to heal it was able to absorb a bit more.

Obviously that's not the main reason for the gain. I ate non-stop. But made me feel a bit better.

Good luck!

My appetite didn't increase, but even slight overeating can pile on the weight.

The last time I was on dread pred, I controlled my diet and my weight was under control.

When I was on pred the weight gain was always appreciated. I was about 30 pounds under weight. Now that I am at high school weight I am not sure that I would be quite so thrilled with it. High protein would probably be good due to its longer digestion times if you can stomach it. Stay away from light carbs though, they will just pack on the calories for you. As mentioned above, water can really help out with feeling full and not worrying about calories.
