Hi all

Just wondering if anybody has ever been so worried about having to go to the toilet during an interview that they don't want to go at all!

I have a really important job interview this week, but i am also having a bad flare with the last 2 months. A lot of running to the toilet, the usual. But it comes on so fast. I am terrified that I will just have to 'go' during the interview and I'll just run out of the place and they will be looking at me gobsmacked!

Anybody else have this fear?? Any tips on what I could do to prevent this happening, is taking a lot of imodium okay?

I'm sure that medically this is terrible advice but.... what happens if you just don't eat for quite a while before hand? You can reward yourself with a nice big meal after - when we have colonoscopies we don't eat for like, over 24 hours so it wouldn't kill you but your stoamch might rumble during the interview!

I've had the same fear.... having to rush to the nearest restroom, duing an important event and find that it's worse when I'm nervous. A job interview can be nerve racking and anxiety about having to use the toilet exacberates it! I've taken iron and/or immodium, made sure that I didn't have anything to eat before hand and used deep breathing techniques. You might want to plan to arrive early and be sure to go to that bathroom before your leave for the appointment and right before the interview. Be prepared of what to say ahead of time, just in case an episode suddenly comes on. Such as, excuseing yourself if necessary and say something like: I'm sorry, I'm not feeling well at the moment. If they end up waiting a considerable amount of time while you're in the restroom, offer to reschedule at a more convienent time. I'm sure you'll do fine, although having a plan in place and being prepared for the worst can ease your mind. Good luck!

Last year I attended an interview - after getting day release from the hospital.
Pred had blown me up 6 kilos - I looked like a big puffy sweaty sausage.
I could hardly squeeze in to my interview outfit.
I also had to hide the cannula stuck in my arm.
The nurses offered to load me with immodium - but I decided to wing it.
I made it through the interview fine.
Fingers crossed for you!!

Oh yeh - I went to another interview with a heart monitor on. Lol. I think that kinda freaked them out. They still offered me a job - but they were pretty quizzy!

Hannah has the best advice. Its the same advice I do for important job appointments, playing soccer, coaching, etc. I don't eat anything except for a banana before and then eat afterwards in the comfort of my own home and toilet. Best of Luck

Thanks for all the advice :)
The interview is tomorrow morning so I will eat only a banana for breakfast and take some immodium, and make sure I arrive a early for to use the restroom and hopefully that should be enough to see me through. Also I think I will get up early as i find I do most of my rushing to the bathroom straight after coming out of bed but it tends to settle after a couple of hours. So hopefully that will see me through fingers crossed!!

Hi guys
Just back from the interview - no problems thank god. Had toast and banana in the morning. Had the usual running to the toilet so took the imodium and thank god it worked. So relieved! And the interview did not go half bad either so fingers crossed :)
