procedure went well

hello there.. havent chatted in a while but just wanted to let you all know that today was Daisha's liver biopsy & the procedure went well:thumleft:. she was so nervous going in & said "my stomach has like butterflies, actually it feels more like doves" :ybiggrin:lol. I was anxious too but it wasnt as bad as I thought it would be.. the procedure itself only took about 35 minutes. she was sore when she woke up, they gave her morphine & felt relieved for a while. they monitored her for about 6 hours & then we were discharged. she is still sore & has been laying down dozing off, but overall she is doing good:). Now Im just waiting for results, which take about a week & hopefully we will have some answers. I will let you all know when I find out. Hope everyone is doing okay:).

Hey Vanessa!

Thanks for the update hun. So fab and so relieved to hear that all went well. YAY!

Give Daisha a big squishy but gentle hug from me.... Well done Mum and I hope the results provide you with solid answers. I'll be anxiuosly waiting right along with you!

Much love,

Hey Vanessa, didn't they already rule out PSC? I'm just curious if they have mentioned any other possible causes. I hope they have a clear picture and an easy fix for it. Thanks for the update!

I hope so too.. & yes they did rule out psc due to mrcp results but they also were concerned that she might have auto-immune hepatitis because there is no explanation why her levels are so elevated. from what I understand the 6mp can cause this to happen but I guess its alot higher than even the meds would cause it to be. we've tried lowering the dose for a while but nothing has changed. she also has had a brown tea like colored urine which usually means theres something wrong with the liver. The dr said shes given it enough time to see if it would make a difference but nothing has changed. I am a little confused too because if the results come out negative for auto-immune hepatitis then we still have no answers but dr said we'll just take it from there.. Im trying to explain as best as I can but basically I want answers too.
