Just curious if anyone here had a seton placed after they had started Remicade, and if so, what your experience has been...

i have had a seton for the last 3-4 years. it made a HUGE difference. i stopped abscessing all the time and was able to stay that way for a good long time.(i just found out i have 2 new fistulas) i didn't respond to the remicade, but the seton was and is great. it was a bit uncomfortable at first and really hurt for about a week. if you work on your feet all day i would definitely take at least 3-5 days off, especially if you heal slowly. after a while you won't even notice it is there. i used to freak out thinking it was gone because i couldn't feel it. it wasn't gone. in the time that i have had it it has never caused me any issues.

I am happy to hear you had success with it. I will probably be looking at taking some time off if I do go through this procedure.
I am on Remicade, but will be finding out shortly if I will also be getting a seton. I am curious if anyone has dealt with this, healing times, etc while on this drug.
