Remistart enrollment - how long does it take?

Hello, all. I was curious to see if you had enrolled in Remistart, how long did it take you to get approved and how were you notified?

I faxed the signed form last week and realize it was a holiday week, but haven't heard anything as of yet. Do they send something in the regular mail, or is there an email confirmation note that I should look for?

I'm scheduled to start my first infusion on Dec 14, so I am certainly hoping to be approved and ready to submit the EOB's by that time.

LonghornGirl: sorry you didn't get a response to your questions. How did it work out for you? I was just denied by my insurance to take humira and am now looking at remicade. We have a $3,500 deductible and was wondering about some assistance. Is that what Remistart is? Hope everything worked out for you and the meds are working.

Hi, Michelle.

Hard to say if the meds are working yet, I have had the 2 loading infusions and go for my 3rd next week.

I did eventually get a packet in the mail from Remistart, but since I had faxed over the enrollment information, it took a while for me to make sure everything was "good to go". I think I got the packet just a couple of days before my first infusion on Dec 14th, and I have not yet received reimbursement. It's been taking my insurance company 3-4 weeks to get the "EOB Statement" finalized, which is why I feel like it's been taking forever. (I lack patience, hah)

So at this point, I have and 2 infusions that I paid out-of-pocket expenses for (with insurance adjustments) and have not yet received reimbursement check from Remistart. I actually called yesterday and they confirmed the information for my first infusion was received and in processing and that the check should come in the next week.

Remistart is supposed to cover up to $6,000 of your out-of-pocket expenses after your insurance has processed the claim. From what I understand, I'm supposed to ultimately end up paying only $50 per infusion after getting reimbursed. Just really stinks to fork up so much money up front and then have to wait. Last time it still cost me $650 upfront even with my decent insurance plan.
