I can't figure it out.

Grace now is sooooooo sensitive to smell that I now have to try to avoid the areas that might make her dry heave or cry.
Sometimes it's smells that we don't think are bad but she does.
She's NEVER been bothered by smell.
:eek:She's a dairy farmers kid for crying out loud!!!!

Have any of your kids seemed bother by smells during flares?

Sorry FW, no experience with this... could it just be that she's feeling a bit nauseated and just certain smells are enough to worsen the nausea??

An idea that might help... many years ago, I had a friend whose mom was, I guess, sensitive to certain smells??? She used to put a dab of perfume under her nose to cover up smells. Not sure how much it helps and I'd be careful of how much perfume to dab (an overpowering perfume smell could make me nauseous ) but, maybe it would help Grace a bit??? :)

Sorry, no experience with that here either. Could it be related to meds she is on? And... there's nothing wrong with dairy farm smell. I grew up in dairy farm country and it smells like fresh air to me!

Sorry to hear, my little one is smell sensitive but she has always been that way. Is she on any new meds?

Add honey BBQ chicken wings to the smells that make her gag.
CRAZY
On Zofran, she has no nausea at all.
We have an appointment tomorrow with the GP. I'll ask her is she knows what it could be.

When I got my stoma installed - my sense of smell became intense.
It was quite challenging at times.
My Dad just had bowel cancer surgery and he has had the same thing happen.
Perplexing.
It's a curious disease.
