Hi everyone,

I get blood work done every few months. My liver numbers have always Ben great. Out of nowhere my levels went up a small amount. Dr didn't seem too worried and said he will check them again in bloodwork. He said quite often he sees peoples numbers slightly elevated due to being overweight. I am overweight and started exercising an watching diet now that crohns is under control. Has anyone ever had this happen? I'm worried about it.

Were you fasting for the blood work.
Any small amounts of alcohol can elevate liver function tests.
A glass of wine, or beer the day before could affect results.
Its all in the timing....
The good thing is that your doctor is following it and its only slight elevation at this time.
It may revert back to normal.
Mine was suddenly considerably elevated but left alone and monitored reverted back to normal within a few months.
Has not been mentioned in any follow ups and my blood work is done fairly frequently.
Try not to worry about it---it will maybe right itself shortly.
Feel better soon
Hugs and best wishes

I didn't fast for the test. But I also don't drink alcohol. In the few months leading up to the blood test, my fast consumption was much higher then normal. I was going through a stressful time and turned to food. Since then I have gotten myself back to normal.
Did you do anything specific to get numbers back to normal?

No-- just carried on as normal with food as tolerated.
Neither do I drink anything alcoholic.
It has to one of life's sweet mysteries why it happened.
The only other thing is that Remicade had been discontinued three months before the enzymes showed an elevation.
There had not been any testing during those three months so I suppose it could have happened anytime.
The Remicade was discontinued due to reaction and has not been restarted.
It is possible if your fat intake had increased that your body was trying to cope with it.
It is good that your enzymes are only slightly elevated and may well return to normal.
Time will tell but it does call for vigilance on the part of your GI.
Feel better soon
Hugs
