I woke up this morning feeling very miserable. My throat is sore, I'm running a fever, and I ache all over. I noticed right away that both Alex and Beth are not feeling well. I couldn't handle anything and my CD started acting up a little. I always develop some symptoms when I'm sick with anything. Beth was the worst. Her little nose and her eyes were running all day. All three of us have fevers. It's Scott's day off, so he let me sleep half of it. I think it's a matter of time before he gets sick too. The kids didn't want to do anything today. They clung onto both Scott and I. Poor things. They went to bed early today. I'm going to drag my sick butt to bed. MOAN! . . .

what a shame, i was coming over for a coffee.
get well soon. let Scott do the house work and take care of you guys.

Awww Andi...:hug::hug::hug:

Thank you my sweet friends. I think Alex is on his way to bouncing back. That kid has some kind of recovery power. Beth and I still feel yucky. Scott got up with Beth last night, so I did get some sleep.

Oh Andi, good to hear about Alex! I hope you and your little 'un bounce back soon too!

Now all ya need to do is keep Scott well so he can pander to your every whim!

We've got the same thing over here, Andi! Both me and my boyfriend have bacterial lung infections. We're both grumpy, coughing up our insides and basically hating life. I'm on antibiotics because of the immuno-suppressants, but he's just toughing it out. He's got asthma too, which makes it harder. I hoep we all get better soon. I hate being sick on top of being sick. It seems a little redundant, hey? I feel like colds and flus should just leave me alone haha I suffer enough on a daily basis. At least they could wait until I'm in remission. Stupid bacterias and virus's. Leave us alone!

Thanks Dusty! Scott's been pretty helpful. I have a feeling though, that when I'm feeling better, he'll get sick.

I hope you feel better soon Samantha. Lung infections are dreadful! In addition to the wonderful Crohn's Disease, I have asthma. I sure can understand what you mean about hating to be sick on top of being sick. Hugs!

Here's the update- I took both Alex and Beth to the doctor today. He was shocked when he looked at them. I believe his words were, "Boy they look rough!" It turns out that Alex has an ear infection in both ears and strep throat. Beth has an ear infection in both ears, but her throat is okay so far. Probably not for long as they mouth the same things. Both kids are on Amoxicillin, the bubble gum medicine. The so called simple cold transformed into bacterial infections for both. They look awful! I can't keep up with their noses, and Beth has goopy eyes too. My poor babies. I was at the clinic all day with them, so I didn't have time to make myself an appointment. I'll go in tomorrow.

Sick Joke- While we were getting ready to head to the clinic, Scott said, "The doctor will probably give you a big shot in the butt to the kids." How awful! Beth is too little to understand, but Alex knows what shots are. I told him not to tease them or scare them. Scott's answer was, "If they know it ahead of time, they won't be as afraid." Alex has had many different shots, blood draws, and has spent time in the ER when the doctor was trying to remove the object he stuck up his nose. Doctors, hospitals, and clinics are already not on his list of positive places to go. I was able to distract Alex somewhat after Scott's distasteful comment. I mentioned that when I was little, my dad used to joke around with me about that when I was sick, but it almost always came true. It never stopped me from being terrified of doctors or shots. I guess it's the mama bear coming out in me. Thankfully, there were not shots this time.

I almost died laughing Dusty!!! If we were closer, you know I would too! Oh gosh! I love your humor!:rof: I guess most men have a somewhat sick sense of humor.

OH no! :(
Hope he's not a big baby like my husband when he gets sick! LOL
Look at the bright side...he's the last one and it'll soon be over :)

hugs,
~T~

Scott is a big baby when he's sick. I think he's worse than the babies. When he gets sick, he's usually down for the count. I have to keep on moving. He rarely calls in sick, but I think he will tonight.

I know what you mean...

My husband got dizzy ONCE a few years back. It literally maybe lasted 30 seconds. Next thing I know he has his phone in his hand and was ready to call 911 and insisted that he was having a stroke !:rof:
Yes, terrible me stood there laughing and laughing...he was so mad at me!
I couldn't help it tho! :rof:
I just kept saying...you got dizzy..it happens!! :rof:
I'm terrible!

Ahahaha, I remember telling my hubby, after Matt had his hernia operation, that if it was him he would probably expect 3 months in a wheelchair out of it! Need I say more! :rof:

Oh gosh! I had my umbilical hernia repaired when they took out my gallbladder. I need to share this with Scott when he starts acting like a baby again.:rof:

Thank you Cupcakeprincess and Scifimom! You have me thinking now! I wonder if those two were cut from the same cloth? LOL! The kids are getting better, but Scott is still kind of languishing around. The Amoxicillin is supposed to have come a long way, since we were young. It is now bubblegum flavored. My babies actually like it. I'm so thankful that they aren't resisting their medicine. The Greek chicken soup sounds wonderful. I'd love the recipe! You got to love Star Trek!! :)

Bad news! Beth is sick again! I'm wondering if the antibiotic didn't work. She was on a ten day prescription of Amoxicillin for a double ear infection. She also had goopy eyes. She's back to running a fever and has goopy eyes again. It's off to the doctor tomorrow.

Oh no Andi...:(:(:(

I hope Beth starts feeling better soon. Good luck with the appointment mate and keep us posted!

Squishy hugs for Beth and you too Mum!

Oh thanks Dusty!! I always feel so loved by your thoughtful posts. :) Beth and Alex both visited their pediatrician today. Alex's ear infections have healed, and either Beth has developed another set, or the ones that she had didn't respond to the antibiotics. She was prescribed Augmentin, which is stronger than regular Amoxicillin. Hopefully, this will do the trick. We are still needing to delay her blood work, as she is still sick. I'll give updates on that too. Hugs!

Ouch!! Poor kiddo, Augmentin is very strong but if she is taking it for the first time, keep an eye for allergic reactions.

Both my kids developed diaper rashes while on augmentin, it caused diarrhea also

Hope she feels better soon
