I had a visit with the gastro doc this week to discuss some symptoms i'm still having while on Humira. I haven't gone totally backwards during treatment but I did have a minor setback and I'm not sure if it is attributed to something I ate or what. I had symptoms of an infection and the doctor had me skip a dose of humira while I was on antibiotics. I even did a test for c diff and that came back negative, thankfully. I then started having worsening of Crohn's symptoms. Started back on humira and felt a little better.
To get back to the point, the doctor wants me to stay on Humira for 3 months and then do a blood test for antibodies. I need to make sure I have enough of the medicine in my body for testing. Depending on what we learn from that test we may decide to try something else. I did well on remicade years ago so I think that might be my next choice if we have to change.
Doc gave me some prednisone and bentyl so my bowel movements are doing good now. Also I'm sticking to the SCD strictly with very little fiber for now. I'm feeling a little better and hanging in there until we get some more clear answers.
