I've been on imuran and luckily in remission since September of last year. This January I noticed random week long bouts of itching on arms and legs with no rash. I recently got a new GI Doctor and expressed how I'm 24 and would like to have kids within the next 5 years and just am worried overall with the risks associated with imuran. So the plan is to switch to humira next week while on imuran until I reach the full dose of humira. I'm nervous about what if this doesn't work like imuran has and I get a flare again, will I have to change my diet again or should I be able to stay with the same diet I've had etc. I'm also worried since it's an injection every two weeks if it'll wear off towards the end of the two weeks? Thanks!

I am not sure but I wonder if humira doesn't work, if they might want to switch you yo another biologic. Best to you. Keep us updated.

Hopefully the humira will work as well as the imuran. It has a better efficacy profile than imuran.

A lot of CD patients have to adjust their humira schedules so it isn't uncommon for someone to be moved from every 14 days to 10 days or every week.

Eating health and avoiding foods that give you trouble is always helpful with any med. But there are many that find with biologics they can carry on with their regular diet lifestyle.

My daughter is on Humira and she can eat most foods.
The humira contact or maybe the pharmacy can help answer your questions about Humira and pregnancy.
You may find you are tired with the loading doses. I noticed that my daughter was but she was back to her normal by about month 3. I hope that helps a little and I hope you have an easy adjustment.
