Has anyone ever taken any exams at home? I have a couple of science exams coming up at the end of june. modular gcse exams - means lots of small exams spread out over a couple of years instead of one big exam), but have been so tired recently we got in contact with my school who have arranged for me to have them at home. One of the teachers from school is going to come to the house to "invigilate". I'll let you know how it goes!

Never heard of it. I try to get up for the two hours it requires, even though I generally miss too much school to know the curriculum anyways :S

I have taken tests more often then not at home. I would take them through something called the Hospital Home bound program. I wouldn't excel at the tests but I tried and did my best and that is all your teachers can expect from you. Remember as much as it sucks, your health comes first, especially before school. It is a lot easier to catch up academically then it is with your health.

I will sadly also be taking my exams at home this year, online through my school's website:( haven't been to school much either this year

I really wish I could take mine at home, last June I had about 6 GCSE exams and in two of them I had to go out to go to the toilet because I was nervous about the exam, I was even in remission! It just felt so much worse because I had to walk out in front of about 200 students in a silent hall plus feeling awful + knowing that the exam is pretty important just made it my worst nightmare. I am dreading June 2012 when the majority of my GCSE's exams are, it's funny though because the being ill bit didn't affect my grades, I got A*s in both of the exams I was ill for, it was more the fact that there are so many people there, it is an all girl school and I just feel like I have no dignity! :(

Good luck :) I have 6 GCSE exams in January and I'm considering asking to go to the Student Support Unit to do them so I can have teachers watching over me, but can use the toilet when I need too. Does anyone else have a place at school like this?

When I did my GCSEs (and I still get it now I am doing A Levels) my school got permission for me to take my exams in a separate room. It means that I don't have the stress of a huge exam hall and it's easier to get out to the toilet in time if need be! Maybe see if this is possible at your school Charlotteee if it would make you more at ease.

As for taking them at home, I really wish I had been able to do this in summer 'cause I was not long out of hospital and was really not up to going into college. But they didn't manage to sort it out and it meant I even missed one exam. But all is looking better this year :)

Hope all the exams people have coming up go well x
