I am so frusterated and drained at this moment, as I am in constent pain all the time. I am unable to eat and for the past few months have gotten to a point I need morphine injections at least once a day. Sometimes 3 or 4 times depending on the severity of the pain. Now Im on a waiting list to see a new GI doctor but chances are im going to be waiting awhile. My question is for in the mean time, what seems to be the best pain medication for at home use? I am sick of waiting at the hospital hours on end day after day for injections. My hips and legs are so badly bruised up im running out of places to give injections. I know regular use of narcotics isn't good, but at this point its the only thing that allowes me to live a somewhat normal life. The doctor has given me morphine pills before, but I found they never worked.....or at least not nearly as good as the injections. I need to find something that can control the pain as needed at this moment while I await treatment. Does anyone have any sugestions, as I am going to speak with my doctor tomorow about at home pain managment. He has sugested the morphine patch, as well as oxycottin (which from what I have seen and heard.......is NOT a good drug to get mixed up with) Has anyone else been on the patch? And if so, do you find it works as good as the injections? If not, has anyone got any sugestions on pain meds that actualy work for such sever/cronic pain?

I have also tried O&B sapositories (Opium and Belladona) and find they don't even touch the pain. I have also tried toradol, and slow release tramadol. Neither of which work either. I just need something super strong so that I can at least try to eat without fear of whether or not im going to have to wait 4 hours in the ER for a pain injection.

I was given some tranquizer pills after I was first diagnosed in case it got worse. The pill apparently numbs the abdomen. Sorry I don't have the name of the drug readily available.

I wish I could help....even MM wouldn't help. It just makes it easier to ignore...I hope that your doctor can help you out!

Maybe a fentanyl patch would help. Also if you see a pain management dr they do have pain pumps that can be inserted. Take care
