What if they didn't want to be amazing,
What if all they wanted was to be normal?
Maybe they didn't want to be a martyr,
Maybe they just wanted to be nice.
Perhaps they didn't want to be strong,
Perhaps they just wanted to cry.
Possibly they didn't want to have grace,
Possibly they just wanted to have a little dignity.

What if they just wanted to scream?
Maybe they want to dance.
Perhaps some day they will,
Possibly, if Crohn's gives them the chance.


Just thinking about my kids, and all the poor kiddo's out there tonight with CD and UC and any other awful disease. I am no poet, this is just how I imagine they may feel now and then.

Although I am new to this forum wanted to express to you a comment on your thought.
So true, so true...
while my children suffer through long bouts of physical pain and difficult emotions...
we hold our breath for those days that begin with a smile, a laugh and a time to dance...
and then we celebrate!
your lines define who my children are and I'm many other's too
