Hi, i am currently undiagnosed but the doctor is sure thats i have ibd. I am currently taking no medication bc im not diagnosed so any tips on what to eat and how to cope with the pain. I am due to have a colonoscopy at the end of july so until then i have to cope. Also do you get your results straight away for a colonoscopy or do you have to wait one hundred weeks. ( sarcasm)

I would really appritiate your replys thank you xx

Have you tried a food diary to see what foods upset your stomach? Usually right after the colonoscopy, they might tell you the basics and then they schedule an appointment for after they receive results of any biopsies

If you have the self-control, try the SCD.

Well, home remedies is good for you.

An ulcerative colitis diet is one that involves using an enzyme product, such as Lactaid if you want to consume dairy. It also means steaming, baking or stewing vegetables instead of eating them raw, and avoiding butter and margarine, as well as carbonated drinks that produce gas.

If you suffer from ulcerative colitis you may also find that eating several small meals a day, as opposed to three large meals, will make you feel better. Since you aren’t absorbing nutrients as well with ulcerative colitis, you may want to talk to a nutritionist or doctor about taking vitamins.

Some research shows that adding probiotics or good bacteria into our bodies help fight disease. This might be something for people with inflammatory bowel disease to consider. Additionally, studies on herbs and spices are starting to suggest that there could be some therapeutic benefits when fighting ulcerative colitis. Although more research is needed, one of the spices being examined as a possible colitis therapy is curcumin.

I have Crohn's Disease and shortly after my resection was told smaller meals more frequently would be good for me.

i would personally not change too much things before a colonoscopy. You want to know what is going on in your colon. I would explore diet after the results. The dr who will scope you should be able to tell right away if anything is obvious. Make it clear with the doctor before they put you asleep that you want to discuss after the scope. In the case of a very minor flare, maybe only biopsy could reveal something so that could be a few weeks wait. let us know and good luck!
