Hi ,hoping someone might be able to help ! the side of my tongue is covered in painful ulcers ,do you think it could be connected to azathioprine, as i have just increased the dosage yesterday to 150 mg or is crohns related ?does anyone else suffer from these and how do you treat them .Thanks

yes, my mouth is generally a bit of a mess, recurring ulcers are a feature and i think you'll find this is more to do with crohns as not all of us suffering from them are on aza

have you tried a sea salt (from supermarket) disolved in hot water, swish when warm. do this a few times a day for a while. it helps some of my mouth issues.

good luck and sorry you're suffering.

Diane

Mouth ulcers are my main symptom of Crohn's. Try Chloroseptic. It's lovely. The spray is the best, but the lozenges are more convenient. My doctor calls in a compounded viscous lidocaine with hydrocortisone in it for swishing and this also is helpful.
