I took half of a Levbid yesterday am (for cramps) and it cam out whole in my poo today. Has anyone had that happen!

HI Mary.. some extended release tablets can sit in the gut or go through without being digested, I remember a Crohnie here had like 24 B12 tablets stuck in her intestine and they found it during her scope! As a general rule if I can find liquid gels or get shots, I'd rather take them. I take liquid gel capsules for Calcium. I have had a resection and digestion can impair us to absorb what we need BEFORE it goes out the back door lol. Even some meds we take have coatings like Pentasa, and I think we dont get all the amounts we are intended to get.

Just my theory...

I had an entire mandarin orange segment come out once in less than an hour. I had a large walnut chunk too! Or was it a pecan?

Anyhoo - I had never heard of this med, so I looked it up. It has some very favorable reviews on webmd! Though a few people said it was being discontinued, and a few others said it wasn't. Hmm.. who knows.

It does say that extended release tablets may be split, so maybe your is extended release? In that case, you may just see the outer shell and the inside dissolved in your body. That happens with asacol - the whole shell is in your poops. Also - even with Pentasa, the little teeny balls within the capsule are actually extended release balls and it appears that they are just passing through whole.

I don't bother eating apples any more... I swear I could glue all the pieces that come out back into a complete apple!

I see a noticeable difference in what comes out and what I can see when I take them and when I don't.
