Vent-nurse at my gastro's office

I called my gastroenterologist's office this morning, to talk to the nurse and leave a message for my doctor. The nurse was one that I have not talked to before, and she wasn't very nice. She made me feel like I was just wasting her time. I've just recently switched to this gastroenterologist, and now I'm doubting that decision, the nurse at the old office was always kind and caring, no matter how stupid my question was.

It's unfortunate that sometimes the "gatekeepers" can really effect our experience and care and there is no way around it because we rely on them to get our appointments, prescriptions, insurance info dealt with etc. The only thing you can do is be kind and persistent. You have the right to get your questions answered in a timely manner.

Thanks, nogutsnoglory. I got a call from the gastro today. Not the nurse, the doctor, which totally shocked me. And kind of made up for the crummy conversation with the nurse.
